Great staff. Bartenders were very good. Maid service was very good. Options for dining were good and the food was excellent.

We have traveled with Club Med in the past. A monitor in a common area with the daily activities would be helpful. You may have been able to access a list via your phone, but part of my vacation plan was to NOT be on my phone as much. Check in had limited information to give out or there was a language barrier and we didn't ask the right questions or obtain the right information. Appeared to need pickleball paddles and balls. We brought our own, but did not see any others. The chairs at the main and spa pools were very comfortable, but the beach chairs and the chairs at the other pools were hard on the back.

The location in Playacar was really nice. The water was clear blue and beautiful, there were two pools, gazebos, and lovely grounds, and rooms. The people who worked there were really great, Sandra, Gabriela and pretty much everyone was really helpful and kind. The food was really good. For reservations, I'd recommend calling a week ahead and making them. We were able to switch some of our reservations. For activities they had everything from painting and cocktail classes to live bands and scuba demonstrations. Highly recommended

The one thing I'd definitely recommend is to always negotiate your taxi rate before even sitting down in the taxi. Otherwise, you will likely get taken advantage of when the driver comes up with an arbitrary rate as soon as the ride is over. Playacar is pretty blocked off from getting around except for taxi and on foot/bike (no Uber), so if you can get consistent and fair rates on the cabs, that'd make the trip great.

The staff was wonderful ! This was our second time at Royal Hideaway. It is such a great spot on the beach. Restaurants and room services were great. I love that they have breakfast and lunch buffet with an ocean view. We had the best Massages at the spa. We met a lot of the conciergiers from the different buildings. They are all so helpful. We will be back next year!

Our room really needed better air conditioning. I feel that when we asked about it, they were aware of the issue already . When we met other couples that was the biggest complaint. The restaurants needed better air conditioning.

The beachfront was incredible!! Plenty of chairs and umbrellas and someone was always there to take your drink/food order. The entire staff were very friendly and accommodated anything we wanted/needed. The food was incredible, drinks were also good and my fiance felt like they were strong!! The best place to eat was either the hibachi at the Azia or the steak and empanadas at the Grill. Our villa concierge was also very friendly and helpful.

These are very small things in comparison to the great time we had! We wished the slider door & window had screens, we wished the property had a hot tub for a late night soak and the jets in the bath tub didn’t work. Either than that, we had a wonderful time!

The rooms are spacious and airy. We had sheers for privacy in the day and heavy drapes for nighttime. The room had a King Size bed. And there was plenty of space to store our clothes in the large night table drawers and the small walk-in. The bathrooms are large with rain shower, hand held shower, a separate tub and double sinks. We loved the L’Occitane soaps and shampoo although we were surprised that there was no conditioner or body cream which is standard in every other resort. The food served in the specialty restaurants was excellent. Both pools and the beach area were beautifully maintained. We found that the Royal Hideaway Adults Only beach was the best when compared to the other resort beaches along the beach front. They had less space, fewer mature palm trees for shade and the beach chairs were crowded together. The services of our concierge, Karla, were excellent. Karla’s attention to our requests were above and beyond our expectations. Every staff member was helpful and very friendly.

The air conditioning system did not function well and there was a very musty smell when we entered our first room. Even though the repairmen came to clean the filters and repair the air conditioning system, we had to change rooms as the problem remained despite their efforts. Our 2nd bedroom was much better in terms of air conditioning temperature and a fresh smell, so we were very pleased with this room change. The cleaning staff came daily to clean our room, however, there were inconsistencies such as forgotten facecloths, lack of a top sheet on our bed one day. A checklist would definitely assist the cleaning staff to avoid these issues.

This was my first all inclusive holiday and Royal Hideaway didn't disappoint. The hotel is beautiful and rooms and bed are great. There was plenty of choice of food for us. I would recommend eating at Spices for breakfast rather than at the buffet.

I wish we hadn't had to rely on the concierges to book the restaurants, would be good to be able to pre book online yourself. There isn't much entertainment, it seems a shame to only use the huge theatre twice a week.

Breakfast buffet was good. Had lots of options. I think the food was mixed in quality. Some restaurants were very good like the Italian one. The three courses were all very good. The Spices restaurant needs work on that menu.

As stated above. I a very good cook and hoped to have very high quality of meals. I would not give it a 10 on all restaurants except the Italian.

The staff really makes this place special! This was our second mini-family reunion - it was wonderful to see the same faces.

The only issue we had was with other hotel guests - a noisy group of older adults who insisted on being loud, which got worse as the day progressed. Fortunately, the resort has several secluded pools so we were able to relax.

The food was definitely good and the beach at that location was nice and big. They also had cornhole and volleyball that guests could play at the resort. The drinks were easy to get and we never had a problem with beach chairs (although pool were harder to claim). They put on some fun events like a silent disco, Karaoke, a couple bands, etc. They were very accommodating to my sisters gluten allergy and helped with special requests like a birthday cake. If you want more of a younger club/party vibe this is not necessarily the place for you.

The service was not always the most accommodating (some people were great and others not so much). The rooms AC didn't seem to work well (although we tried to switch rooms other rooms seemed even worse, but we spoke to some guests who didn't have any issues with this). The average age at the resort was much older than me and my sisters which was a bit unexpected. They were lacking some more casual mexican food staples like tacos. The water in the bathtub of the room was a yellow/brown...the whole place was a bit outdated and could use some modernization.

This resort has the friendliest staff who are engaging and willing to meet your every need. The entertainment staff bring high energy for fun daytime activities from beach volleyball to aqua aerobics The food was excellent with 5 unique restaurants with wonderful service

Everything was outstanding but the furnishing are a bit dated and worn
