I have visited Avignon before and stayed in different hotels. I will return to this one from now on. The location is perfect, just a few blocks from the main parking lot outside the wall in one direction, and a few blocks from the Gare Centre in another. All of the cultural and historic sites are equally close. This is a gorgeous old hotel (the name is carved in the stone that caps the building) that has been nicely remodeled and updated. The room was the largest of the hotels we stayed in during a month in France. Our room overlooked the tree-lined Rue Viala. Hard to beat!

The bathroom could be wider. There wasn't much clearance around the toilet. However, it wasn't the tightest of the rooms I have stayed in.

MONSIEUR JOSE was particularly helpful and kind after a number of problems see below. He went out of his way the help us and was utterly charming. The location was perfect for exploring the old medieval town

There was an idiotic key ssytem that involved QR codes. The code was sent to me in advance but was 'broken' No new code was sent despite asking. When Mr Jose located a code it did not work to start with. Then I could npot log on to wifi in our room - again the wonderful Mr Jose came to the rescue and we tried two other rooms before finally solving the problem.

This hotel is on the main street which becomes pedestrian only in the afternoon and evenings. You are in the middle of town which is completely inside the old stone walls, very historic. It was so quiet in the winter but I am sure that might not be the case in summer. We were given an upgrade to a beautiful huge room which we loved, thank you to the night man.

The parking garage was very hard to find since the main road becomes pedestrian only and the garage is outside the walled city. Directions to the garage could be given when booked, it would be helpful.

Nearly everything was great. The location was excellent in multiple ways. For example it was easy to get to Palace Parking when returning during rush hour from a day's exploration in nearby towns because traffic slowdowns didn't start until we crossed the bridge only a few blocks away. Many good restaurants were within a ten minute walk. Parking itself was easy (though expensive.) Breakfast was good. The room was fine. Staff was pleasant and professional.

I really didn't understand the parking situation before my arrival. I drove to the hotel to check in. If I had received clear directions to park first, then walk with bags it would have been easier, because driving to parking from the hotel took much longer and was more complicated than I would have liked. A general map with walking directions from underground Palace parking would have been very useful, and it was an easy walk even with bags.

Excellent location as walking distance to the River boat cruises and sightseeing in the old part of the town.

Very helpful staff, good sized room and comfy bed. Good breakfast, nice balcony, quiet at the time of the visit so restful night's sleep. Great location with a very short walk to the train station and all the major sites, some fantastic restaurants around (I thoroughly recommend d'Ici et d'Ailleurs)

Bathroom was fine but there was very little leg room on the toilet, thank God I'm not taller!

Location is perfect right in the heart of the square. 5 minute walk from the Pope’s Palace. Restaurants, cafes etc in the same area. The train station is at the end of the street probably 10 minutes walking distance. Nice small quiet hotel although on busy street. Highly recommend when staying in Avignon.

The furniture is outdated, there’s a step up to bathroom in my room which you can trip on.

The location was amazing - fairly easy walk from train and a block down from the people-watching/eating plaza on the way to Pope's Palace and Vieux Avignon. Also, across the street from a pharmacy, with a great bakery on the same block. Bed was firm and room was clean. We only ate one breakfast at the hotel. We thought it was pricey at 14 per person, but it did offer selections of cold cereal, hard/soft-boiled eggs, sliced meat/cheese, croissants, yogurt, fresh fruit, juice, coffee. We had been used to picking up quiches/croissants/coffee at the local bakery for $10 total. Depends on what's comfortable for you.

The room was very tiny; hard for two people to get around without moving aside for each other. I didn't think the size equaled the money spent.

Room size was fantastic and lots of room for our luggage. Beds were comfortable and especially nice to have double beds instead of standard twin size beds. The staff were very helpful and printed out our return train tickets for us! Location was ideal as we took a couple of day trips departing from The tourism office. Love that everything in town was within walking distance and not too far away.

Breakfast options did not work as well as one of us is on a gluten free diet . We only ate breakfast one day at the hotel as we found it very expensive . Most days we went to Carrefour to buy yoghurt and fruit instead. Wish you had a fan in the bathroom to clear the humidity from the room after showers, had to open the windows to get some air flow in room as it got quite stuffy in the room at times. If we stay again I would ask for a room not facing the street as it could get quite noisy at times.

Right in the center close to everything. Great corner room with two balconies gave me great views and a nice breeze. Windows must be triple paned because when closed, you couldn’t hear anything from the street below.
