Hotel was ideally placed for visiting Ay. Gaille had been very helpful before the trip providing information and helping make bookings. Lucy was equally helpful when we there both in terms of knowledge of the area and places to visit and also good knowledge about champagne. the courtyard behind the hotel was beautiful to sit out in during the afternoon and evenings. Hotel was clean with good facilities. The garage provided good safe parking for the car.

Really enjoyed our stay, even though it was for just one night to travel down to southern France. Friendly personnel and good service. The room was clean and we had a nice view on the courtyard. We took the breakfast and it was decent. Not the best coffee, but everything else about it was more than fine. We didn’t use all of the services such as the swimming pool, but they did tell us about it. The hostess speaks English very well, which was pleasant. They helped us by giving suggestions for restaurants as well, even though there’s hardly something open in France on Sundays. If you arrive by car, you can use the secured garage across the street. The hotel is located on walking distance from the little town and the vineyards.

There was a bit of a stale scent in the building, but it’s a really old building, so you can expect that.

Castel Jeanson is a very charming old building in the heart of the Champagne. Ideal starting place for discovering Champagne and Champaign. Staff is extremely friendly and travelling families are very warmly welcomed.

The breakfast room was a little too small and crowded for my taste, but I am aware that you have to adapt to the realities of an historic building. Missed a cappuccino, as I don't drink black coffee.

It's needs to be made categorically clear that restaurants have limited capacity sun and Mon nights. Its hard to book these places consequently we had to travel to Eperny to eat....why not ask the question....would you like us to book a table for you before you arrive.

The property is centrally located to several champagne houses. The rooms were bright, clean and well appointed. The breakfast was delightfully presented with an abundance of choices, especially the fresh fruit.

The internet access was weak and most times, not accessible. In this day, most reservations are done online. Websites are updated in real time for easy accessibility to restaurants and local events. The internet access is important and the lack of it needs to be addressed.

Grand old building with real elegance and style. The staff are also exceptionally friendly and helpful. The parking garage is superb for those that like to securely park their motors.

The lack of a restaurant is a minor inconvenience, however once you accept this, the local spots more than make up.

The hotel is in a great central location to visit the Champagne region and visit a number of producers. We dined in Epernay for each night of our stay and it was very convenient to get there from the hotel by car. We had ample parking in the hotel's secured garage and street partking to load and unload was never a problem. We purchased breakfast at the hotel daily and found it to be complete in the typical European manner. The availability of water, tea, coffee, and a light snack in the hotel's library was a very welcome treat and the staff paid attention to every detail. The room was very comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

The wifi did not work in any part of the hotel during our stay. Unfortunately, I needed to log into two work meetings during the stay, but was able to hotspot from my phone. Not ideal, but I managed to make it work.

The hotel was in a great location for our trip to the Bollinger champagne house. Although Ay is a much quieter placed to stay, we still enjoyed the local restaurants and cafe in the town square. The hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the cost reasonable. No complaints at all. A little dated perhaps but clean and tidy.

The hotel was spectacular and unusual. Also the lady on reception was particularly lovely and helpful. The hotel parking facility was also brilliant. A massive garage super-secure and close to the hotel.

We thought the breakfast was a bit expensive - but that was our choice and it was very nice.

Charming hotel, perfectly located for visiting nearby champagne houses. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The private garage, with its cool interior, was perfect for keeping our champagne purchases cool despite the hot weather outside. Highly recommend
