Excellent hotel, spa, restaurant and accommodation.

Stayed in one of the apartments which was excellent but there was a foul smell from the drains which was sorted by the hotel on one day but the next day it returned. Not pleasant at all - had to keep all the doors open and not expected at a 5 star hotel. Only downside to an otherwise excellent stay. Hope smell is treated for other guests as it was truly foul.

We were moved to the main hotel and got the deluxe room Friendly staff Beautiful modern hotel Room was huge Very comfortable bed with gorgeous crisp sheets BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING Sunday Brunch was also FANTASTIC with buffet style fruit de mer Gorgeous rooftop bar with live music in the evening

The rooftop bar didn't have wine from the region, only from Italy and New Zealand???? I guess it was a cognac focused bar.

The rooftop bar and vista was great: The Spa and pool were used by most of our group of 13. The reception was most friendly and helpful.

The Change area in the spa was a little cramped

This was a great place to stay, few minutes from centre of town. Staff were excellent, the place is very clean. Will return next year.

it was really nicely presented and very spacious in the apartment.

each ensuite should have a toilet.. it’s strange to not have a toilet in a bathroom and to have to share it between two double rooms. the ensuite with just a bath should also have a shower over the bath.

This was an incredible stay for the week before our wedding. We were extremely happy with our apartment. The staff and facilities are excellent.

Room was huge, clean and new. The staffs are friendly and helpful.

The toilet and shower are in separate areas. Toilet near the entrance which is in the living room and shower is in the bedroom.

Very close to walk into town, about 10 minutes. Safe, free parking. Lovely pool and spa facility.

The apartments and hotel complex are superb and very well furbished. However, we stayed in the apartment complex. We were very disappointed as the apartment block is situated adjacent to the place where hotel deliveries arrive. Consequently, on week days, lorries are arriving from 6.30am which obviously woke us up and was very irritating. Hotel guests are obviously not affected by this as the hotel is further away from this location. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel and pool facilities, staff were friendly and helpful, but it is doubtful that we would stay again because of the location.

We loved our stay at Chais Monnet. The hotel has that 'wow factor' moment as you drive in and we really felt like we were walking into a 5* hotel. The apartment exceeded our expectations and the pictures don't do it justice! The rooms were big, spacious, very clean, quiet and had everything we needed including a kitchen for us to self cater. We got a really good deal and found it hard to believe with how good it was. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and we loved the facilities. The indoor/outdoor pool was well maintained and we spent a lot of time in the garden drinking wine and swimming. Our friends had their baby and we found it very family friendly but not overrun with kids. The location is not far into the centre of Cognac, maybe 15 minute walk and lots to see on the way. There were bikes available but we didn't make use of this, also lots of undercover parking available.

A couple of points that make this review just short of perfection! - the food was nice however really quite expensive for what it was. Most local places are not open during the day to eat so you are kind of stuck with a limited menu. - while the apartment was great, the balcony looked onto the back of the hotel where deliveries are made and staff take their cigarette breaks so was not a nice place to sit out. - the rooftop bar again was very nice, however lacked atmosphere and was the only time we experienced negative service. A cocktail glass broke in my hand as I was drinking and we barely received an apology and were met with resistance when we asked for another for free as it was really dangerous. - the staff were great, however it was often difficult to find someone around the pool area to order drinks. When she did come around, the lady serving was lovely! - the pool and garden area was much smaller than we thought it would be, I think the pictures are a bit deceiving but still lovely!
