The hotel is right on the harbour front and less than a ten minute walk from the railway station which means that it offers entertaining views from the reception area and breakfast room and is a good place to use as a base for exploring the region. It is currently undergoing some redevelopment which didn’t happen to disturb my stay. The room was nicely designed, comfortable and quiet, overlooking the internal pool. Room Service, once the staff had got to grips with it (probably rarely used; there are lots of restaurants close by) was quick and fine, and the breakfast was good. Reception staff were helpful and had a nice sense of humour.

As with many hotels I would have liked a magnifying glass in the bathroom; I don’t know why more hotels don’t provide them, surely a very small outlay for reducing irritations trying to apply makeup (or, no doubt, shaving).

Central location to all of La Rochelle with a beautiful harbour view. The shower really is THE BEST we have ever come across. If I could get the same one in my house, I would be very happy indeed! Towels are thick and just wrap around you😊 The room is adequate for your stay, and the bed gives you a decent sleep. Air con is a great advantage, and why we booked this particular hotel for our short stay. Staff are incredibly pleasant and seem to enjoy their work. Breakfast gave a really good choice eggs/continental etc and a variety of coffees available from the machine. I would book this hotel again if I was staying in La Rochelle even though they are still doing quite major work internally. You are not encumbered by noise, dust or smell. Reason for an 8.5 - work still ongoing. No bar. Size of room adequate and bit of a trek with the luggage ( this time)....

No bar at the moment ( this is work in progress) along with some other internal work. Unable to bring our car close enough to the hotel to unload baggage due to the barriers in the road being up for a Francofollies 5 day event. This was nothing to do with the hotel, of course.

The hotel is in a fabulous location in the port, only 10 minutes walk from the train station with plenty of restaurants and bars on the doorstep. The bedroom was lovely, large, very nicely decorated and quiet. The swimming pool was an added bonus. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice, served in a lovely room looking out the port with plenty of seating. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend highly.

The only thing that disappointed was the lobby/bar area are being re-constructed at the moment which we weren't informed of when booking. The work did not impact on our stay except after a day's exploring we usually enjoy having a sit down and drink before retiring which we weren't able to do. When finished it looks like it will be lovely so we may need to visit again to experience it. Otherwise we could not find any faults.

Hotel in a fantastic position right in the middle of all the action. Our room (junior suite) was lovely, overlooking the quay, very comfortable bed plus all the extras, coffee machine a bonus, breakfast was good, attractive if small pool (we didn't use but it looked very inviting), helpful and friendly staff, we would definitely stay there again.

Public corridors to rooms and lift felt a bit outdated, could do with a makeover, although the room itself was perfect. Parking arrangements were a bit confusing at first, might be useful to have a proper information sheet.

The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect — walking distance to the port, major attractions, great restaurants and bars. Staff were courteous and tried their best to accommodate.

The overall experience fell a bit short due to ongoing renovations which impacted the value we got for the price, but once the work is complete, I imagine this will be a great place to stay. Also the car parking process was not easy, but I presume that it would be difficult in any facility that is located in a pedestrian zone, so I presume it is not the hotel's fault.

Everything was wonderful! Location location location! The front desk staff were so kind and amazing! Super helpful!!!

Room spacious, newly renovated, good mattress and bed and very clean. Only one comfortable chair, but appreciated. Renovated bathroom with good shower pressure, good amenities, stirring sticks for coffee and tea missing from tea tray. Good TV selection French and international. Good buffet breakfast and service, fresh orange juice !!

Receptionist switched in between English and French all the time, whereby we live in France and spoke French all the time and he switched half the time to English probably to show off. Offsite parking is difficult, GPS address does not bring you to the entrance, due to closed/one way streets. Driving plan is issued by reception and shown on PC. Valet parking would be better and include € 5.00 for this service and add this to the parking rate of € 13.00, parking is free in low season, but you should charge €10.00 and include valet service. Breakfast feedback; scrambled eggs too liquid, be careful, 3 coffee machines not needed, toaster one half broken. Check coffee quality, cappuccino and american, fresh to cup beans, but not very good quality ?

Perfect location, staff very helpful and accommodated our requests, great communication about the parking situation. The rooms at the back were great, very quiet despite being close to busy bars. Comfortable beds and good amenities.

The breakfast room has great views, but is a little less elegant and the standard is not as great as the rest of the property (paper napkins, a bit lifeless). Breakfast choice is ok but not fantastic - I think it’s because there is no restaurant in the hotel, so there is no salad or vegetables, only eggs, ham and only one type of cheese for example.

The location is excellent and the pool was an added bonus in the heat. Lovely shower and very comfortable bed.

We weren’t told about breakfast until we asked and we weren’t told we needed a remote control for the air conditioning until we told them it wasn’t working. It was very warm in our room as a result. Breakfast was generous but the breakfast room and corridors are a hangover from the building former days as something else, that didn’t get the makeover.

The hotel location is superb, the breakfast was very good and the staff were so helpful, even helping us book taxis. If I ever return to La Rochelle I will be staying there again.

Due to maintenance works the swimming pool was not open. That was disappointing. Some minor other points though were there was no safety deposit box and additionally there were three of us sharing a room but sometimes it was only made up for two people.
