Hotel is in a great location, very close to the quay side and the old port where all the restaurants and action is. Look out for the big white Ferris wheel and the hotel is very close by. Room was a decent size with a comfy bed. Only thing to point out is that because this is a converted factory building, the rooms are somewhat non-standard. Small high up windows and no door between bedroom and bathroom so if you are a couple sharing, you can basically hear everything!

Lack of bathroom privacy and narrow horizontal windows meant not a lot of daylight. Net curtains needed to be drawn for privacy.

The hotel is a simple 8-minute walk from the train station and central to everything we wanted to see. The hotel is a clever combination of an old hotel and an adjacent, never-consecrated chapel that had been used as a rope workshop before eventually being converted into the hotel. The breakfast was the best we have had in several weeks of touring in France. This is the hotel we will return to.

There are no hanging closets (typical of old hotels in France) and the room was small enough that the electric kettle was stored in the cupboard. But we have certainly stayed in smaller rooms in Europe.

The location is excellent, just a street back from the harbour, lots of bars and restaurants nearby and only a short walk from the Aquarium. The front desk is 24 hour with friendly staff. Rooms are large with comfortable beds. The bathrooms are very large, almost too large, could probably fit another bath in the bathroom.

Not very soundproofed, bit of noise from the corridor, although effort has clearly been taken in the regard with dividing doors in the hall. The single beds in the twin rooms have quite small duvets, I found myself struggling to stay under it most of the night.

The hotel is very clean and well kept. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There is someone available at the reception desk 24/7. The breakfast had sufficient options and was fresh (not all hotels consider the importance of that). It is a good value for the money especially if you usually have larger breakfasts.

The wifi was unfortunately a bit flaky and unreliable. If you need a stable connection for work, you must be very much aware of this. However, if you come for vacation and to enjoy yourself, it is good enough - it will load your movie streams.

The location is perfect, the staff is awesome, the rooms are really good even though there is no door between the toilet/shower and the bedroom. Some reviews were talking about being noisy, but the hotel is really well soundproofed. We experimented with a music festival just outside the hotel it was really loud music but inside it was perfect. Really clean and newly renovated place. I highly recommend it if you are visiting La Rochelle, i will be back for sure.

There is no door between the toilet/shower and bedroom, only strange if you are two people but not a deal breaker. The air conditioning is quite loud even on low mode.

The staff was very friendly and the location was perfect. Short walk to the train station, restaurants etc. The room was cozy and a good size for single travelers. The cleaning was excellent. Overall a good experience.

The breakfast was a bit expensive, 13 euro, but it was pretty good. Air condition could only be set to 18 degrees, but this was not a big issue since it was not warm enough to need aircon through the night. The WiFi was unstable.

Smallest double bed I've seen in a hotel in years, real shame as hotel otherwise great. Breakfast OK but nothing special.

The hotel was in perfect location - short walk from the station and right in the Old Port. Lots of cafe and restaurants around. We were looking for the place like that and it fitted all our requirements.

The only strange thing was that the safe in the room required code that was given by the reception over the phone. I thought the idea a of a safe was that no one knows the code but you.

No door to bathroom, and no space to unload/load a car. Cleaning staff knocked twice to clean the room over an hour before check out so we felt chased out of room early, so we didn't try breakfast
