I booked this for a week in Paris and it was perfect for what I needed. Private room with sink and shower (toilet is down the hall). Desk space to work and write. Shelves and storage so I could unpack my bag and hang up my shirts. There is a safe in the room with a digital lock so you can securely store your passport, laptop, and other valuables. Breakfast each morning was good. Nothing fancy, but nice start to the day. Simple and affordable accommodation in the Bastille area of Paris. If you're looking for somewhere comfortable to sleep each night and don't want to spend a lot, you're unlikely to find much better than this. I'd stay here again.

It isn't as close to public transport as other places, so if you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk you'll be ok. The cleaning window from 11:00 until 15:00 where you couldn't stay in the room was unusual, especially in a single room with nothing to be cleaned. However as I was travelling for work I left early each morning and returned late in the evening so this wasn't an issue for me. Wifi is ok. I used the data on my phone most of the time. So if this is important for you it might not be the best location.

24 h reception desk. Location was awesome. The neighborhood was lit. Room was clean. Breakfast was very nice as well.

loved everything

The room provided everything we needed and the price was extremely reasonable, when you consider that this is central Paris. The beds were surprisingly comfortable and we have previously paid much more for poorer beds! The hostel was generally quiet. Breakfast was fine and well organised for processing many people efficiently. The location was pleasantly quiet whilst being within easy walking distrance of sights of central Paris. Plenty of places to eat nearby.

In the early morning, it seemed that many people were needing to use showers and toilets at the same time and the toilet plumbing seemed to be struggling!

We loved the location, close to 3 metro's stop. We loved the recepcionist Alizee as well, very friendly. We liked that the shower is inside the room.

In other point, there was another recepcionist that was very rude. The breakfast could be better, they could offer one portion of fruit and change something like the orange juice.

I liked the location. Just a few minutes walk to Gare d Lyon. There are also a couple of Metro stations nearby. There are lots o food options nearby.

That there is a time where everyone is required to leave the hostel for cleaning. Although I am already informed of this in advance, but I think they can find ways to improve on this.

Good to stay here again at the end of our continental train trip. So handy for Gare de Lyon. Spent Sunday morning walking around the Bastille district, up to the Seine and back. Came across two fab large street markets, and walked along the Paris equivalent to the New York Highline (an earlier version I guess than NY, not so well designed, but very pleasant).

Great location as its very central and wonderfull employees. Especially the receptionist Nail was a very helpful and friendly person. The room was very clean and warm which are the more important features.

There are no hair dryers in the hostel which is a problem as not everyone carries one during their holidays.

After reading all the negative reviews I was really worried about staying here. Turns out it was clean, staff where friendly and helpful and you got an extra value place to stay close to everything. Was 35mins to stade de france 15mins to station to Disney And an hours walk to Effiel tower. I was over for rugby world cup and Disney. Bed was comfortable for the little time I had to sleep and a very enjoyable stay.

The air con maybe was the only issue as it didn't work fully but that's only thing I can find wrong

The location was very good. The shower in our room was hot with good pressure and everything was clean. The staff were helpful.

There was only 1 chair in the room for 2 of us and everything was quite basic. But you get what you pay for. The Hostel caters for younger people under 30 which we didn't realize.

This is my second time to stay in Bastille Hostel and I absolutely love their staff and overall location. The room is quite simple, they ensure it’s being cleaned daily and warm enough for their clients especially during this season.

Nothing in general, even with shared toilet, it’s always clean and with enough paper towels.
