The only thing that I didn't like was not staying longer.

The entire experience staying with Hotel Abbatial Saint Germain was spectacular. When I arrived, I'd been informed that my room had been upgraded to the newly renovated, top floor suite with a balcony & views of the Notre Dame. I couldn't believe it and my disbelief continued when I saw just how beautiful the suite was. The room was spectacular and so reasonably priced for such luxury, something of which I've never experienced before in my life. Everything was clean and all of the in-room amenities were so appreciated. The bed & the lounge area were comfortable, fresh & styled so elegantly. The renovations were modern, however the classic Parisian elements of the room were not erased - creating the perfect atmosphere for someone travelling alone or a couple wanting a quiet, romantic getaway. The location of the hotel was perfect, close enough to the tourist attractions but far enough away from the hustle & bustle if you needed a break or wanted to immerse yourself more into the local culture. You can literally hear the bells of the Notre Dame chiming in the distance as you wake up in the morning. It was magic. The breakfast provided was beyond your usual hotel breakfasts.. There was a wide selection of pastries, french yoghurts, jams, hot breakfast options, tea, coffee, juice, fruits, deli meats & CHEESE! I was incredibly surprised & impressed.. As this was my first time in Paris & I was travelling alone, feeling safe & comfortable were my main priorities - the staff alone ensured this was my reality. Each member of staff that I interacted with for the 4 days I stayed, were polite, kind, helpful, warm & received my lack of French so kindly- a few staff even helped me learn more French while I was there! The entire experience exceeded my wildest dreams and expectations. By the end of the trip, I was thinking about running away & moving to Paris!

There was nothing I didn't like. Everything was immaculate. From the service, the complimentary breakfast, the room itself, the staff, the location and everything the room provided.

Fantastic stay in a brilliant location. We were lucky enough to have room 55 which is on the top floor and has the panoramic view. It couldn't be more Parisian. We'd definitely go back, absolutely loved it.

The lift if very small (only a problem if like me you don't like enclosed spaces). The radiator in our room made gurgling noises. Not a big problem, just noticeable to comment on it.

The location was perfect. There was a fridge and a kettle in my room. The staff was helpful and nice. There were at least two fine bakeries nearby and lots of other bakeries within a five minutes walk distance. All in all my one-person room was comfortable. The bathroom was always clean and the facilities in the shower cabin worked well.

The window was directed to stairs which didn't affect my stay in a hotel but kind of encouraged me to spend less time inside. Thin walls. I heard guests leaving their rooms and walking up and downstairs. For several nights in a row, I had to wear earplugs because somebody listened to the TV every night. Only when I checked out from the hotel I realized it was a person at the reception desk.

Friendly, helpful staff. Lovely, tasteful décor. (We loved the wallpaper!) Sparkling clean. Wonderful breakfasts. The scrambled eggs were possibly the best I've ever eaten. A special thanks to Élisabeth, who had a friendly "comment ça va?" for everyone.

Renovations in the building immediately behind us involved drilling through concrete, making the noise level intolerable for a few days of our two-week stay. But you just have to put that down to bad luck. On most days of our two-week stay, the room was quiet enough during the day, and there was never any problem at night. The windows in our room overlooked a small side street that is normally calm.

Everything a visitor needs in a small package! The room was one of the smallest we have ever stayed but from my understanding this is normal in Paris. However, it was super practical and we settled in really nice. Not suitable for big luggage though, you wouldn't have enough space to unpack (we only had 2 cabin bags). The room was spotless clean and on a daily schedule. We didn't opt for the breakfast so no opinion there. The staff was very helpful and polite. The hotel is 5min walk from Notre-Dame and 2min from subway station (Line 10). There is a bus stop in front of the hotel (buses are super nice and clean in Paris). There are quite a few places to eat, all in walking distance, and an amazing bakery voted the best croissant in Paris back in 2018 (still is the best I think) 2min from the hotel door. So the location is very very nice and practical. All in all an excellent place to stay by far!

The only thing we didn't like at first was the room size but because it was very practical we didn't mind it for the rest of our stay. I don't think that there are much larger rooms in Paris on this budget though.

Loved the location and staff. Close walk to metro and Notre Dame. Breakfast was very good. Jr. Suite was large and bathroom was very spacious.

I was on the ground floor in toom #5 and it was cold. We visited in Dec. There were large windows but they were frosted for privacy so it was like we didn't have windows at all. We had to keep the curtains drawn since people were walking by. It got a little loud at times. I would still recommend this hotel but maybe on a higher floor. Only bonus was that we didn't have to walk up stairs or wait for the tiny elevator. Room was spacious and very nicely decorated. Bathroom was huge.

We have stayed here before. The location was very convenient, being close to a metro station and many Paris sites. The Gladines restaurant is next door and is excellent! The hotel is always very clean and the staff is helpful. Our corner room was quite nice with 3 windows with French balconies, including one in the bathroom.

The renovations since our last stay were nice, but they turned the unique underground breakfast area into a fitness center. We never used the fitness center as we stayed in shape by walking everywhere, including the steps to Montmarte! The cost of breakfast was pricey. There was a sewer odor coming from our shower drain. We were offered a different room, but opted to stay since moving everything would be a hassle. We were given a rubber plug to cover the drain while not in use.

Modern, cosy, clean. Each time we visit Paris, we always stay in the Latin Quarter. This hotel is perfectly located in that area - a 5 minute walk from Notre Dame, and a great base to reach everywhere central on foot. Close to main train station, 10 minute walk (if getting the train from the airport), close to several Metro lines too. Staff are all helpful and super friendly. Really lovely little hotel in a brilliant location. Breakfast is nice, but if you want a cheaper option, there’s a lovely bakery just a few doors down on the next block, that serves great coffee and pastries.

The rooms are small - which is standard for smaller hotels in central Paris, so if you’re after a slightly larger room, a junior suite would be a good option. Junior suites in these type of hotels in Paris, are similar in size to a standard hotel room in the UK. We’ve stayed in lots of these type of Parisian hotels, so the room size was no surprise, and the rooms are lovely. The ONLY thing I didn’t like about the hotel was the hairdryer - it’s awful. The type that’s like a (low powered) hoover tube, built in to the wall. If you need to blow dry your hair, I suggest taking your own hairdryer. I loved everything else about the hotel, just the hairdryer was pretty bad.

Everything. It's located in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank near major cultural sites, metro and bus lines, affording easy access to all of Paris. Intimate. Pleasant. Friendly. And the staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. We left at 04:30 our last day, and the 24-hour front desk attendance made even checkout a breeze.

Our room was on a center courtyard so there was no view, but we were there for the accommodations not the view, and weather apps reported temp and skies, so it really didn't matter. More horizontal space near electric plugs would have been useful, but we managed.
