Very much enjoyed my 3 nights stay at the Hôtel les Degrés de Notre Dame. A unique 16C hotel that’s located IMHO in the most interesting & vibrant part of Paris. The room looked as if it had been fairly recently renovated. The bed and especially the pillows were very comfortable. The compromise of this 16C unique hotel is there’s no Lift, so be prepared to get that suitcase(s) up the staircase. But once done it’s done! When I mentioned I only drink tea, the manager kindly knocked on my door and even offered me a mini kettle. I found the staff on duty went out of their way to make sure all was well. For me I did not wish to have housekeeping every day, but if you wish -- just ask. Location: Steps away from both the Seine & Notre Dame as well as many bars & restaurants. Walking to the Musée du Louvre along the Seine/over Pont Neuf bridge ~slow 25 mins walk with much to see along the way. Transport: Saint-Michel RER B Line station takes you direct from/to Charles de Gaulle & the Saint-Michel RER C Line station takes you direct to/from Versailles. All in all the Hotel was a Great little find!

Location is excellent. Turn right out of the door, right again and you’re directly opposite Notre Dame. It is within 5 minutes of bus stops that take you to the Louvre, Musee D’Orsay etc, a 2 minute walk into the streets full of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and close to the Metro station. It was perfect for exploring the left bank. The room was lovely, a comfy bed, nice shower and very atmospheric as it was old with beams and full length windows. Staff were friendly and speak great English. WiFi was good and free.
There wasn’t a bath plug in the bath so I had to stick to showers. The city tax was the highest rate which according to the info on the Paris tourism place should only apply to ‘palaces’ and 5 star hotels. For a couple this adds an extra £25 to the room per night so be aware of that.

A clean and comfortable room in a quaint, very old building. Marked by eccentric layout and furniture under very old-looking exposed beams, the room was charming. The staff was very friendly and helpful but know that they are only available after 8:30 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. Any activity before or after that needs special arrangements. The location was great, very near the river and cathedral, but on the 'quiet' (i.e., East) end of the Latin quarter, without much of the bustle and chintz of San Michel. Within easy reach of metro., Left Bank, but there was no problem with either traffic or human noise on this peaceful side street.
During the day, the room enjoyed several large, bright windows but evidently in an effort to save electricity, the electrical lights in the room and in the stairway have been reduced to the absolute minimum. So after dark, things are very dark indeed. Be careful descending the stairway and don't expect to do much reading. There is no lift, but one was not expected. I see notices of permit applications, so I expect that the entrance area is about to be remodeled, which is badly needed. However, the small attached cafe is very inviting. It is a stretch to call this a three-star hotel, but for what it is -- a classic, small, and ancient room in a hotel that has not been modernized into standard blandness -- it is a good choice at a fair price in a wonderful location.

The welcoming was great! Paris is quite expensive. This hotel has excellent value for money. I had a very cozy room. An authentic room in the middle of Paris, The location is amazing. in the middle of the Quartier Latin, next to Notre Dame, and very fortunately outside the mass tourist section. Excellent connection to Paris airports CDG as well Orly and off course the Gare du Nord train station. I can absolutely recommend everyone this place for a visit to Paris.
Anyway, it didn't disturb me, but anyone who requires a silent night sleeping with a window open for fresh air, I'd look for another accommodation.

The location is fantastic. Walked to all the places I wanted to revisit. Amazing to hear the Notre Dame bells ringing from my room. This is a quirky hotel and I appreciate it for its authenticity. The breakfast was fine, but used to be included in the tariff
It would have been helpful to have a brighter light over the bed so you can read. It can be a little noisy when other guests go up the stairs The bistro that was recommended to me on the first night was handy but very expensive - and they served the red wine chilled.

Our 5th stay in this hotel (room 24 and 47 (which has a cheeky view of the Notre Dame. Very old, quirky and Parisienne. Love the beams. On Left Bank, down hill from the Sorbonne University AND very close to Notre Dame. Local restaurant used by locals L'oie Qui Fume is 3 minutes walk away from the river. Narrow, spiral stair and no lift. Filling, tasty breakfast. (not: after shower, leave shower curtain outside of bath to allow it to dry.)
Room 24 middle window could not close, ok for ventilation but not best for kids. Main room light is not bright and on a stand. It occupies the only power socket in that area. There are 2 sockets either side of the bed.

What the reviews I'd read beforehand said: You can hardly find a better location in Paris. Right next to the Notre Dame, walking distance from the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay, and, importantly, in a quiet street. So you don't feel like you have to contend with crowds from the moment you're at the front door. Reception was warm and friendly, no problems with English. They communicated beforehand. The building is old, built around a wooden frame - it didn't feel like a generic hotel, but rather something special. WiFi worked well and the bathroom perfectly fine. We were there in high summer - we opened our window at night and used the fan in the room. There are great bakeries and restaurants nearby, where we had traditional Parisian breakfasts before hitting the museums.
No points of criticism I can think of.

The rooms were warm and clean and had everything needed. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and couldn’t have done more to make me feel so welcome. The location was perfect, right in the middle of everything but also in a quiet street.

The location was great, right across from Notre Dame. The room was clean , smaller than the picture suggested, but still good. The shower was great, though the deep tub may be a bit hard for some people to get in and out of. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.
It felt more like a boarding house than a hotel. There are no hotel amenities at all, just the room. There was nowhere for people to possibly gather. A bar and tables at the storefront seemed promising, but then there was nothing served there, the ambiance was that of a utility room. It was locked at 7 pm with no access. The spiral stairway to the room was very clean and nice looking- however, pretty steep for an elderly or unfit person (to the third floor at least).

The location is fantastic. Plenty of restaurants and cafes in the area. The Siene river is a quick turn to the right from the hotel. This is an 18th century building and as long as you know this going in, you will love it. The staff is wonderful and the beds are super comfy. We came to celebrate a birthday and the room was large enough for myself, my daughter and granddaughter. The bathroom was extremely large and enough room for us three girls to get ready. Room 501 is perfect for a group of 3. The charm of the old building gave us the Emily in Paris vibes. Loved it.
Just a warning to anyone who cannot climb stairs....this is the only way to your room. 69 stairs to the top floor; my granddaughter counted them each trip up to the room (small wooden stairs in circular accending staircase). Not for the people with health or knee issues...well not the top floor anyways. We did not mind but also had only a backpack and a carryon. It is a good workout but my mom would not be able to do it.
