We really enjoyed our stay at hotel de l’Abbaye. The rooms feel are comfortable and cosy- and very Parisienne! The courtyard garden is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon drink before heading out for dinner. The staff were very attentive. The location was convenient- within walking distance distance to Le Bon Marche and Le Grande Epicure- and close to a metro stop.

We loved everything about the property. We did notice some scuffed walls and worn wallpaper which gave the impression the property was a little dated- however this did not impact on the welcoming feeling of the hotel or our comfort!

Lovely location in the 6th, came here 40yrs ago for the first time as a kid and still today find it a very charming hotel. Friendly staff, good breakfast in cosy setting, nice little internal court separates the hotel from the road making it a quiet spot.

Its not the best sound-isolation to other rooms or the hallway. The bathroom could use an update. I think it goes for the room as well; it is small, still comfortable but could use a modernisation. Not to say that it is in a bad state, but I think a resfreshing of the room (in our case at least) would lift the overall experience of the hotel for us. We would not hesitate to come back though.

The hotel itself exudes elegance and comfort, but what truly stands out is the exceptional staff. They were consistently helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was pleasant and comfortable. A Special Mention I would like to give a special shoutout to a particular staff member, whose name escapes me, but his dedication and hospitality left a lasting impression. Originally from the Middle East, his warm and welcoming demeanour made our experience at the hotel truly memorable. His attention to detail and readiness to assist with any request were commendable. Overall Experience Overall, my stay at Hôtel de l'Abbaye was nothing short of wonderful. From the luxurious amenities to the impeccable service, everything was top-notch. The hotel's charm, coupled with the staff's exceptional service, makes it a highly recommendable choice for anyone visiting the area. We only purchased the breakfast once as it was very expensive and quite ordinary. We are not asked which of the hot entrees we would like and had to ask. Coffee was a bit cool. We preferred walking out to a nearby cafe. The location is fantastic and close enough to walk to almost anything we wanted to see.

We were offered a lovely garden facing room but the bed was small. We asked and were offered another room with a large bed and even larger bath. There are so many different room types that it is difficult to choose just the right one.

This hotel has a history. It once was a monastery it now is a charming mix of period decor and modern amenities in a location that makes it a great base camp for visiting every site in Paris and beyond. We loved the hidden garden restaurant, the generous breakfast, and cocktail hour tidbits served there. The property seemed to have quite a few repeat guests as well as a mix of younger folks. This is NOT a pllace where you will find huge tour groups. The desk people were beyond helpful giving us directions, recommending restaurants, and making reservations for us.

The air conditioning was very weak in our too. But not our friends’ and we were there for 8 days of 90 degree weather.

I have been staying at the Abbaye for more than 40 years and have always been extremely satisfied and still am, there has been a change in the « personal «  attention that appears to coincide with the change in ownership. There is a bit of a need for a facelift, some peeling paint for example.

What a stunning hotel in a beautiful part of Paris - located in the Saint Germain, 6th Arr - this hotel offered very comfy rooms, an excellent small enclosed garden to the rear plus exceptional staff and service. It is always the small attentions to detail that matter such as a welcoming note and local made macarons, a willingness to help, friendly and interested staff coupled with where best to eat, drink and enjoy local places of interest. With Jardin du Luxembourg, Les Deux Magots, quality shopping and easy walking distance to the Seine and beyond - the Hotêl de l'Abbaye makes it an excellent choice. Would thoroughly recommend plus my better half and I have agreed that anytime we are in Paris - this is where we will stay !!!! Thank you !!!!!!

It’s a beautiful home-from-home, elegant, wonderful staff, glorious breakfasts and comfortable, charming lounge. Have been going for years & will be in years to come. The location is ideal too.

My room was a little fusty & old fashioned. Excellently appointed & in very well kept condition. But it’s a tiny issue that I overcame by burning a candle & swinging wide the blinds to let the sun & the view of the garden pour in!

I have been going to the Abbaye for more than 40 years and love returning there. It needs a few touch ups to correct some peeling paint but otherwise it is a wonderful place to stay
