Besides, it’s magnificent location and unbelievable views from my room. I thought I got a nice room, but I had no idea. I got the nicest room and all of Saint-Malo. The location was amazing. The staff was phenomenal, so kind and really helpful too an old bag, single traveler with an old bag that I’m caring with me.

That I had to leave it. I took their cards with me since I have absolutely no memory and it would be a shame if I couldn’t force everyone. I know if they ever go there to stay there because it’s that kind of a hotel. It’s just beyond. I felt like I was in a different world alone on a beautiful beach in an amazing historical city.

Lovely small BnB right on the beach. Staff is friendly and efficient, breakfasts are served in the cozy waterfront bar and terrace on the ocean front. We had a very large triple room with small balcony right over the water. Very clean, very comfortable bed with great linens. Housekeeping is stellar. Location is perfect, about a 25 minute walk into the old town of St. Malo. Lots of restaurants a block or two away.

Bathroom was modern and clean with storage, with large tub, but showerhead was strange with little pressure, it took a long time to get the conditioner out of my hair. Wish they had toilet paper instead of sheets, but I have noticed this in other BnB's in Brittany, so it may be a regional thing.

Hotel Alba truly impressed me with its exceptional beachfront location right on Sillon beach; I particularly appreciated the incredibly friendly and attentive staff who made me feel so welcome throughout my stay. I also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfast, especially with the great view from the breakfast room looking right out over the magnificent ocean. The rooms were clean and comfortable, making for a perfectly relaxing experience. If you're looking for a memorable and scenic stay in Saint-Malo, this is definitely the place! Great to have parking

Very comfortable small hotel in lovely position looking out to sea and the promenade directly outside the hotel . Plenty of water sports taking place on the sandy beach to keep you entertained whilst enjoying the view (tide goes out a long way). Well worth getting a sea view room if you can. Our room with good bedding & hotel were very clean. The shower tray in the bedroom was in a very poor state though & well past its sell by date, one metal corner had eroded away & the bottom tiling needed regrouting. I was however very pleasantly surprised that no water escaped from the base & the shower itself was really good. On a previous review it was commented that the window was only covered by a fine net material & there was no actual curtain!. I thought this initially until I found a switch that activated a metal shutter so all was well!. The buffet french typical breakfast at an extra price which was very good & plentiful. We were quite surprised that the hotels restaurant menu was a Japanese / Chinese influenced one. We Eat there one night which was very good but we wanted to experience French food & ate out fit the other two nights.

Parking can be difficult at times. There are quite a few steps up into the hotel reception & even more up to the hotels bedrooms which might be a problem for some guests.

That View !!!! Well worth the money for a sea view. Felt like you were breathing a sigh of relief everytime you looked out of the window! Also, 20 yards from the beach was the best bit. Loved the little porthole in the shower where you could see out of the main window too - nice touch ! The room was small, but there was so much storage - a place for everything. If you are looking for a place to get some total relaxation, this is it.

The room size was on the smaller side which was OK but the dressing table was too wide to maneovre around. If they halved it and put up another shelf to compensate, that would be better. Wasnt a major thing & certainly wouldnt put me off going back (which I am planning).

The view from the restaurant was stunning - right on the beach front :-). The restaurant only has a limited number of Japanese-style dishes but the food was absolutely delicious and the Continental buffet breakfast was great - a large selection of different cereals, breads, pastries, meat, cheese, fruit etc and not bad value. Our room was spacious and the beds comfy - we didn’t have a view over the beach but it didn’t really matter for one night.

The shower was a little temperamental with temperature - cold one second and hot the next and the shower door didn’t fully come across so it was hard not to get water on the floor but it was a minor thing. There are only a very small number of parking places at the hotel so, if you haven’t been able to reserve one then you will need to park on one of the streets nearby - it’s free but you’re then at the mercy of how near you can park and need to carry suitcases etc and leaving any other luggage in the car away from the hotel.

The hotel is located on the beach line with a super amazing view on it. It's around 25 mins by walking to the city center with all restaurants but it's definitely worth walking there and back as you need to enjoy every minute of this magnificent place. Parking at the hotel's area has only 4-5 spots, so you need to book it in advance. Nearby parking on streets is free anyway, was easy for us to find a place.

The hotel rooms (furniture, bathrooms) are a bit old, but it was okay for us.

Gorgeous little room right at the sea. Great sleep to the calming sound of waves. The hotel is positioned on the boardwalk, at an easy and beautiful 15 min walk from the Old Town. There are quite a number of restaurants along the boardwalk; plus the hotel has its own restaurant. Great choice of fresh seafood everywhere. Old Town Saint Malo is a gem of a fortress town. After reading ‘All the Light We Cannot See’, you feel you know it organically.

The room is small and there is no elevator, so be aware if you have large suitcases or you can’t climb steps.

Great location. Stylish decor. Lovely view of sea and sand from our room. Balcony. One of the staff let us have his parking slot near the hotel as the hotel slots were booked by the time we booked

Thin walls of bedroom, so the sound of our neighbours' television was intrusive. We were cold on our first night. There was a thin throw on our bed, but no extra blanket. They struggled to find something to put on our bed the 2nd night, but did produce a fleece like covering. Basin did not empty satisfactorily but my husband did improve it. Breakfast was nice but items such as bread ran out and were not replaced quickly. Only 4 car parking spaces. I had requested 1 and they had sent a message to say that there was no space but I had not seen the message , and was anxious about leaving our loaded car elsewhere.

Hotel Alba was in a great location and just a short walk to the city center along the beautiful coastline. The room was beautiful, cozy and the beds were very comfortable. We slept so well with the windows cracked open to hear the ocean. Out the windows of the bedroom was an uninhibited view of the ocean with beautiful sunrises and sunsets and steps nearby that lead straight down to the beach. It was just stunning and we had an absolutely wonderful time exploring Saint-Malo.

Our bedroom did not have any blackout curtains, rolladen or shutters, just a sheer curtain that did not block our room from the street. You could see right into the room at night when the lights were on. There is also a street lamp that is right outside the window that keeps the room really bright throughout the night. It did not affect me as I was always so tired from a day of walking/beaching, but it would be nice to have a bit more privacy from the people who pass by on the walkway along the beach. Parking at the hotel is limited so if you want a guaranteed spot, reserve it at the time of booking. Also, the breakfast was entirely too expensive for what it was. 16€ for just a few offerings on a buffet (bread, cheese, yogurt, cereal), with no hot offerings like eggs, sausage, etc.
