We stayed two nights. The location in the centre of the mediaeval district was superb. The apartment had fridge and tea/coffee making facility. Bed large and comfortable. The staff were accommodating.

The free car park was a good walk away especially hard for us with luggage. We were on the second floor with winding wooden staircase which us being seniors (76) found it difficult with or without luggage but would recommend the property to those who are fit.

The location was great, within walking distance of the main square , cathedral, restaurants and shops. The room we had was a surprise…very spacious to accommodate a queen size bed and a small living room with two comfortable chairs. The lodging was immaculate, and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was offered, and it was very good with breads, croissants, yogurt, eggs, coffee, fruit. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We highly recommend this lodging.

This super property features a large terrace that offers a great view of the medieval city center. The terrace is well-appointed with several chaise lounges and a nice dining area, perfect for outdoor meals. Both the interior and exterior spaces provide ample room for relaxation and are tastefully decorated. Additionally, the host was helpful and responsive.

This space has the potential to be rated at the very top if a few issues are addressed. The kitchen area and counter need upgrading due to age, and a new cutting board is necessary. Similarly, the bathtub has areas where the grout needs cleaning and replacement. Additionally, the industrial toilet paper holder in the toilet room should be replaced.

Nice stay when we eventually found the place, that is. Good breakfast - no complaints. Young man on the desk speaks excellent English, and he told us where we could park the car; he waited for us at the garage, which was kind of him.

Difficult to find - had to ask in the tourist information office and was shown on the map where Rue de la Charite is (told to look for the kebab shop). Also, our room, although nice, was accessed by going outside and up a steep flight of stairs. (Glad it wasn't raining!)

Excellent location in the heart of Sarlat. A beautiful historic building. We stayed in a spacious apartment with a balcony which had its own cooking facilities. Valentin was extremely helpful.

There is no parking at the property. You can pay to park in a secure garage (which Valentin organises) but it is a significant walk with suitcases. In our apartment there was a microwave and a hob - no oven and the coffee machine could do with updating.

Friendly staff provided check in details well in advance of our arrival and were flexible about arrival times. The secure parking was undercover and with plenty of space and lighting. A great location to visit the town. The open air market was 2 minutes walk from the hotel and had a great range of stalls, used extensively by locals. Plenty of restaurants with a range of cuisines are within a few minutes walk. Our room had a small kitchen, which would have been a great benefit if we were staying longer.

The secure parking was approx. a 10 min walk from the hotel. Instructions for the car park could be better i.e. entry is via the white roller shutter door. During July and August the area around the hotel is pedestrianised, which complicates the bag drop off, but is great for wandering the streets. Breakfast starts too late, especially when there is a chance to visit the market before most tourists arrive, however, there are Tabac's close by for coffee from 07:00 and pastries can be bought in the market of local shops (a few are open by 07:30)

It's a little tricky to find, but SO worth it. Sarlat La Caneda is one of the most beautiful places we've seen in France, and La Villas des Consuls, just made our visit even better. Extremely helpful staff, excellent facilities, and superb breakfast. La Villas des Consuls is an absolute MUST for all travellers.

Only staying for 1 night ...... should have stayed longer 😞

We took the train to Sarlat, so we wanted a place that was in town and close to restaurants, groceries, and other shops, and La Villa des Consuls worked out great. Also, we got excellent references for what to do and how we might spend our time in town.

We were there Saturday-Monday, and in France, many stores/restaurants/etc. are closed on Sunday and Monday. Also, we went at a slow time of the year because the weekly market was closed and some attractions were closed because of the rainy weather.

It was just a short walk from the center of town. The apartment was spacious and had a refrigerator/microwave and utensils. They accommodated my husband’s gluten free diet with little notice for breakfast. Staff also allowed us to stay in the hotel parking spot for a couple of hours after check out so we could enjoy the Saturday market.

The bed/pillows were not my favorite but my husband didn’t mind them.

Location! Terrace! The location could not be better and it’s a quick walk to the car parks to avoid the street parking hassle. The terrace is lovely at night and to look out over the market in the morning!

A few small annoyances: fridge knocked all night, had to turn it off to sleep. Floor needed a good sweep. The staff never told us to turn the door handle up to lock, which caused confusion, concern and a phone call to sort out. But these were small details, overall a great stay!
