Great location in the heart of Sarlat, within walking distance of everything! Staying in a historic and beautifully maintained building is a lovely experience and we were able to relax and have drinks in the wine cellar in the evening. The staff is friendly and efficient and the breakfast is delicious and good value. Everything is clean and the rooms are serviced perfectly every day.

It’s a historic building, so everything is somewhat smaller than what many would be used to in hotels, but this is far outweighed by the great experience of staying in such a cool place! Parking was easy in April, but I wonder what it would be like during July and August.

This is a fabulous hotel just a minute's walk from the main square of Sarlat. Our room was at the top in the eaves but it was very modern and roomy and had aircon (which was very welcome as it was hot in the room). The bed was very comfortable, nice clean bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and quiet. We had reserved a car parking space with the hotel which was located about a 5 minute walk away but it was secure and you could only enter with a code so the car was very safe. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The price of the breakfast was a bit steep at 17 euros PP, so we did not bother with that option.

Great location with many nearby restaurants. Clean room. Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Had breakfast on the patio- lovely setting. We had an issue with our initial room. Staff investigated it and moved us to a new room. It was larger than the original room but no increase in fee. We were able to book a parking spot in their garage, a short walk from the hotel. Happened to be there on market day, which was a treat. Would stay there again.

The WiFi reception was quite poor in our original room. The staff graciously gave us another room.

La Couleuvrine is a charming hotel located within the medieval centre of Sarlat. The staff were welcoming. The room was very clean, spacious, beautifully decorated and amazingly quiet thanks to the triple-glazed windows, the bathroom modern and the breakfast was very good (especially the viennoiseries and the cheeses).

The only thing that bothered me a bit was the fact that the duvet was too warm for the season but what I should have done is have it removed and keep only the duvet cover as a bedsheet I suppose

Excellent location just a couple of minutes to the main square. Restaurant is very popular and food is very good. We had a spacious, comfortable room overlooking the front of the hotel. The hotel is made up of some very old buildings with a lot of history, it was interesting to stay somewhere which played a part in Sarlat's history. Whilst there is some space to park to drop luggage off, the hotel does have some spaces available in a secure car park about 300 metres away, do book ahead if needed. It is easy to walk to, but if driving back to the hotel, use a sat nav as there are lots of no entries/ one way streets, which are even worse on Saturday market day.

Nothing to dislike

What an absolute gem! We didn’t know in advance that we would be in the tower room - what a fabulous surprise. Our overnight stay was faultless. Staff are very friendly. We used the secure off site car park: well worth doing in busy Sarlat. Our room was fabulous and so was breakfast. We knew in advance that the restaurant wouldn’t be open that night but all the more reason to return to try it and there is no shortage of other options on a Monday evening in Sarlat.

The check-in process was easy and the front desk staff was very helpful and spoke good English. The room was charming and full of character. We were provided a fan because the first two days were very warm. We loved the breakfast and had dinner in the restaurant one night, which was excellent. The location was fantastic and we could easily walk to the free parking lot and to the shops and restaurants in the center of town.

The room was on the top floor wan it was 80 degrees F upon arrival. The room felt like a sauna and there was no AC. We were provided a fan, which was helpful, but we would have preferred a different room. We asked for a room on a lower floor not only because of the temperature in the room, but also because my husband is 6'2" tall and the slanted ceilings made it hard for him to stand in much of the room. Given the combination of these two factors, it would have been nice to have been moved, even if we had to move back later in our stay.

Beautiful hotel full of character right in the center of town, on a quiet corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it.

Nothing - the hotel was excellent. Just bear in mind that if you arrive after 8pm there is nobody on site. However the hotel left our keys in an envelope at reception (make sure you have the outside door access code). Also something to know if you arrive late - restaurants close very early, usually by 9pm.

Well located, great staff who helped with parking and general information. Met one of the sisters who owned it a lovely person. Breakfast is reasonably priced and well catered

Nothing of any note. Just a warning that the property is old and in the French style so the inevitable stairs. If stairs are a problem get a room on the first or second floor as access can be made via the lift.

The hotel is located very close to the heart of Sarlat, but isn't at all noisy. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was comfy and the shower was lovely. Parking was very easy nearby (for a small charge depending on hours) and the hotel explained options for parking very effectively. Breakfast was great!

The room was very small. I considered asking for a larger room but in the end it was clean, comfy and did have sufficient space for 2 and our bags.
