We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. Our hosts were wonderful, very friendly and shared many ideas and suggestions for things to do, places to eat etc which was really helpful. We loved the pool and the beautiful gardens surrounding the property, which were so relaxing to spend time in. The breakfast was fantastic. The location was great - yes it is a 10-15 minute walk into town but that was part of the pleasure for us, to be so close to the town and yet feeling like we were in the country, and it was a lovely walk before and after dinner. The area is also fabulous - there is so much to explore and do; we didn't have time to do half the things we would have liked to. Definitely somewhere we would return to!!

It's a very beautiful place up the hill in Sarlat-la-Caneda. The owners are very sweet. We were afraid to be too late to check-in and got in contact with them. It wasn't a problem at all, they even offered to pick us up in town. The hotel is a fully developed kind of timbered house. The beds were a dream - so soft. The garden is very pretty. They even have amazing other guests aswell. We thought walking up the hill with our bags would be a good idea... well it is kinda steep, so it was a challenge^^. But a lovely couple from the Netherlands drove by and took our bags with them up the hill to the hotel. The croissants for breakfast were very tasty.

The WiFi signal was a bit too low in our room. Internet lunatics like us might have a little problem with that but we found a solution.

This is our second stay at this hotel. I do love it as it is situated on the outskirts of Sarla surrounded by a lovely garden but not too far from the center (ca.1km) although the return is very hilly. The building is very old and the owners preserved it while adding modern amenities. The rooms and the bathroom are large and spacious. Pets are welcome.

Reception closes at 19h00. The path leading from the road to the hotel is not lighted and is in total darkness.

The property was really old but beuatifully maintained and the rooms were really authentic and spacious. The grounds were well maintained, there is a lovely pool and sitting outside with a bottle of wine early evening was so relaxing. The owners make a massive effort to make you feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.

Nothing, everything was as we expected from reading reviews. Even the walk to and from town was as decsribed so nothing surprised us.

Couldn’t stay long enough

The hotel location is quite good, ~10 mins walk from the old town of Sarlat. Easy walk to the town, coming back after the dinner requires a little more effort. Room was spacious, comfortable, quiet and very clean. Breakfast was OK. We were very satisfied with the accommodation.

Car navigations (Google, Here, Waze) had difficulties to find the right road but after all, by following the street signs, it was easy to find. (Anyway, you should not rely only on the navigation systems).

It was a beautiful old property in gorgeous garden settings just a little bit outside of town. The breakfast was very nice in a very nice room. The staff was excellent.

Our room was very comfortable however it had very little light and ventilation. I am not sure how the room would be in summertime because there was only a velux window way up high and I am not sure one could even open it and a small window that did not open.

The setting of the property is definitely its most! breakfast very good and complete. Service by their owners, so, couldnt be better; we felt like home. They grow some of their vegetables, and the place is 100% quiet.

May be a taxi company allied to the hotel, so, we could move better in the night to the town. Even its a short walk, but it's dark and being a tourist, you never know what to expect in a city you dont know.

Sarlat can be reached in 15 minutes on foot. Despite the proximity to the city, it is located uphill in the greenery and very quiet. The property is beautiful, also the outdoor area with old trees and swimming pool is beautifully planted, very well maintained and with many different seating areas. Some also in the pleasant shade, so you can enjoy a delicious coffee there even in the heat. You can see a lot of attention to detail. The hostess is very friendly. We felt very comfortable and will be happy to come back.

Loved the owners, the gardens and the breakfasts, and their knowledge of wine. And the pool when the weather permitted.

Just one seat in our room. Should have been two as we were a couple using the room. Also a steep walk back from the centre of Sarlat with my disability of severe arthritis. The solid bed base was just too firm to be comfortable to sleep with my arthritis.
