Nice clean place located in a really nice and safe neighbourhood, you can easily get to the center and to the airport by S bahn, U bahn or buses. Big comfortable room with a small fridge, a TV, an hairdrier and an electric kettle. We had a room with balcony with a nice view of Ku'damm street. Also it is close to Lidl, Edeka and Rewe. There are a lot of cafes, bars, fast food s and restaurants near. We didn't get the breakfast but they also have this option. Also, they have been cleaning our room daily. During our stay there was no problem with the elevator, it was working just fine even if it s a vintage one (which is nice regarding the whole old but really well-kept building). Being here for the new year's eve, we also found a nice Christmas market near this hotel. We totally recommend this place being a nice option, close to everything in order to get to see Berlin and cheaper than other places near.

Being a non-smoking hotel, you are not allowed to smoke not even on the balcony.

Good location .it was near three subway or tram stops on a quiet side street.The staff were very friendly and helpful with directions. The room was quiet. Wifi had a good signal and was fast. There were a lot of restaurants, cafes and high end shops in the area.

Room was a little dated. Could have used a mini fridge in the room and the hallway floors were a little creaky. Also the sign for the hotel could stand to be a little more obvious. It is easy not to notice it. It would be nice if they had usb plugs in the room.

I like the old- fashioned apartment, it was my childhood and that was a indeed a plus rather than minus. May be for modern travelers such type of hotel may be considered as not comfortable

The location was perfect and very accessible. Staff was friendly and accommodated our request for late check in. We had a comfortable stay. We thought at first that it was a run down hotel because the entrance was not nice but when we hit our sack it was comfy.

The reception was at the third floor. There was an antique lift that we did not notice so we had to climb the long flight of stairs. Good exercise though.

The Hotel Castell location is in the central middle of Berlin with a lot of restaurants ,locals, and big designers in different varieties and is just a few minutes to the central station.

Inside the Hotel Castell, there is an old television box there, which l dont like the television needed to be changed. Also, there's no refrigerator in the room. Why??????????????

We liked that the reception staff were very nice and spoke English. We also liked the location of the hotel as it was close to the ZOO and many shopping streets, it was also close to the bus stop, close to the park and the hotel room had a nice view to the quiet street.

We didn't like that our room was located a few steps from the reception. It was a bit strange, but we can justify it by the small size of the hotel and its location in an old historical building. The second thing we didn't like was the somewhat outdated facilities of the hotel, but it was clean though. The last thing was that the hotel room only had 2 electrical outlets (or so called power socket), in which the table lamps were already plugged in. So we would have appreciated more outlets so we could charge our phone and turn on the lamp at the same time.

Very specious room without air conditioning. No fridge is provided. A little bit funny lift with scary experience. Location is great. Very first night nearby Lebanese restaurant music is very loud. Can't sleep.

No fridge is provided. Hence during summer time there is no available for cold drinks. Small lift is not located on ground floor. You need to climb some stairs.

staff on thé réception is not nice. the way they articulate the questions are snobby and offensive. both of them are Russian and that was just like in stereotypes: no smile, rude and unpleasant

The area is excellent, the hotel is in an early 20th-century house. We didn't mind that it was a bit old-fashioned.Everything was clean, the room was spacious and we were given a 3-bedded room for two. The breakfast was good as was the coffee.

Decent room, comfortable bed, clean and very bright bathroom. Location isn't bad, but you invariably have to walk a little bit to get to U-bahn and S-bahn stations (a maximum of probably 10 minutes, so not a disaster) and there are busses 100m from the entrance. There are plenty of restaurants and supermarkets close by. I'd definitely consider staying here again, if I were to return.

Breakfast buffet could've been more interesting, not bad, just a bit bland.
