The perfect hotel to use as a base to explore Berlin. Step back in time to enjoy a truly beautiful art nouveau experience. Positioned on three floors within a beautiful apartment building, this was such a lovely place to stay. We are two friends who stayed for a week in Berlin and we were given the two biggest rooms which were gorgeous. I felt like royalty waking up to the sunshine in my glorious room with high ceilings and so much space, it was like an apartment. The breakfast room is equally charming. The honour bar came in very handy in the evenings after dinner at one of the many excellent restaurants nearby. We found the location exceptional with Savignyplatz station only a few minutes walk away, taking you almost anywhere in the city. Some days we used Lime Bikes to ride home through the Tiergarten. Staff were lovely and we really didn’t want to leave this beautiful hotel.

Incredibly charming, in an old apartment building. The staff is friendly and warm, the whole atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Probably wouldn’t take our kids when they were younger but with teenagers it was fine. The whole Place had an authentic feeling of this part of Berlin in a quieter neighborhood (very different feel from for example Berlin Mitte). Tons of cafes and restaurants in easy walking distance.

We were there during a heat wave and with no air conditioning the room stayed pretty hot at night despite open windows and a couple of fans. That said, we would still come back any time, even in the summer.

Location is excellent. The charming owner, Ingo, is hands-on and runs the establishment with passion. The rest of the staff are equally helpful, efficient and very friendly. We had a lovely spacious room, which faced the courtyard, so quiet and private. The hotel does live up its name of ART NOUVEAU, with some added delightful quirkiness, thrown in. The vintage lift is characteristic of the early 20th century and provides a memorable ride. The honesty bar is a treat and we often ended our evenings on the “4th Floor”, with much Gemütlichkeit.

Nothing really.

I loved my room. A home from home. Tastefully decorated – the colours, the furnishings, including antique items, and in keeping with the building. The hotel is located on two floors and it has a feel of a residence converted into a hotel. Great artworks. Original lift with wooden seats. It is also really convenient to travel across Berlin on the S-bahn, and the neighbourhood is the most exclusive in Berlin – and where I would like to live! Friendly receptionists. I have never slept so well in a hotel.

The location is really good. There are plenty of shops around and the nearest metro station is 10 min walking. The pressure of the showers is also good.

My room was next to the reception and I could hear all what was happening in the corridors. The door and walls don't really block any of the noises from outside. That disturbed me specially in the mornings...

Great location. Lovely old Jugendstil building with lots of original appliances (e.g. wood cabin elevator). Friendly and helpful owner/operator who obviously loves what he does. The opposite of a chain like Motel One.

One mattress needs replacing. The owner/operator was very friendly and helpful; the lady serving breakfast not so much (no greeting, no goodbye, had to coax the breakfast options out of her).

The hotel occupies the 4th floor of an early 20th century art nouveau apartment block, complete with the original elevator. We loved this, it was authentic and utterly old-world charming. Our room had lovely high ceilings and a balcony, and lots of space, and it was quiet despite overlooking a main road. The owner and staff went out of their way to make us welcome and accommodate my need for gluten-free breakfast options, and breakfast was amazing! The hotel doesn’t offer dinner but there is an honesty system for evening drinks and nibbles which are left out for guests.

The shower wasn’t very powerful, and we thought the mattresses were a bit soft, but we do like a very firm mattress. Everything else was perfect.

The location suited us very well as we have family living nearby. Very comfortable bed. Quiet room with space to put away clothes and suitcases. The toiletries were lovely. The breakfast was sumptuous. Wifi was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Went to the roof terrace which is lovely on a sunny day. Definitely coming back.

We had, as requested, a quiet comfort room (room 15) with a nice view to the backyard. The beds were good, and the bathroom, although small, had all sufficient facilities. We would particularly highlight 1) the friendly, knowledgeable and engaged staff in the reception and the breakfast room. 2) The delicious eco-breakfast where everything offered was of high quality.

The wardrobe in room 15 was so small that we hardly could not find room for winter coats, pullovers and dresses for a four days stay. It is nice to be inclusive, and it makes sense to offer rooms for both singles, couples and families. But it was very annoying to have a couple among the hotel guests with a crying baby and another very young child in the nicely decorated breakfast room; it simply spoiled the good atmosphere and the pleasure of the good meal. Why don´t you set a limit at, for example, 7 years for accompanying children if you want to develop the brand as a boutique hotel?

Great location and neighborhood with nice dining options. Beautiful & historic building. Interesting details, for example, the old elevator. Amazing, healthy, delicious breakfast and good coffee.

Some details in the room were not well thought out, for example, we could not watch the TV from the bed nor the sofa, the bathroom door bumped against the towel rail all the time, there were 2 seperate blankets on the bed. Some design choices were questionable, taking into account the architecture of the building and the price. Some furniture pieces and floors were worn out.
