THIS IS MY OVERALL REVIEW, BOTH GOOD AND BAD Stayed here with family for the marathon. Was looking for something close to last minute, and wanted basic and utilitarian at a reasonable price. That's what I got; I'm happy with the decision and accommodations. The hotel appears to be a few converted residential buildings from the late 1800's with central stairs. This type of old-world accommodation is fairly common in my experience; US travelers shouldn't be put off by the age of the building as it's not terribly old by European standards. The building I was in had an elevator installed in the central stairs which was a welcomed feature after running a marathon. The innkeepers were pleasant and helpful; I was pleasantly surprised at how willing they were to print out a train ticket I needed without any fuss or fee. My room deposit, which I had to make in cash because the credit card machine was down, was refunded without incident when I checked out (I received the actual same bills, even). The location is convenient to the mass transit system (U, T, whatever the correct term is). There's a small park/traffic circle called "Prager Platz" about 1000 feet away with a grocery store, pharmacy, a couple of coffee shops, and other stores I never went into. Was very pleasant sitting outside there drinking my coffee and doing a little telecommuting. The mass transit stations are even closer. Someone mentioned in a review that the location was loud with street noise. I stayed for five nights and never found this to be the case. The worst I can say is that coffee was not available in the room or at the hotel (at least I couldn't find it). So it required a little walking. Not a big deal.

Best price/quality, great location, Ubahn station 100 meters from hotel, Edeka 200 meters. In 500 meters another Ubahn station. Rooms are big and clear, there are towels in the bathroom. Building is old and interior design is also old but there is no problem, because it’s clean and neatly.

There’s no kitchen or even kitchen utensils or glasses, BUT I didn’t ask reception about this, so maybe it is in another part of building, I don’t know

Location is very good: peaceful and quiet neighbourhood, very close to U Bahn station, excellent connection opportunities, one can reach the center easily and fast. Also close to Aldi and Edeka. The building itself is relatively old, but the room was good, the internet connection was excellent, the receptionist was very polite.

Nice staff, comfortable room Even though it was a little.small. Its in a really cool old building, but still has modern appliances.

The location is shit, almost 90 minutes away from basically anything in berlin. Its fine if you use the metro but if you walk like we did then its horrible. The cleaning lady was also very rude.

Check-in was smooth, we arrived in the morning and they let us in right away because the room was already ready for us. The room was clean and just the right size, with really nice high ceilings, so it was airy and did not feel cramped at all. Very convenient that there are enough places to hang your towels and clothes inside the bathroom, and where to put your toiletries. Location is very good, with U-Bahn just around the corner, and bakeries, groceries, restaurants all close by. For a budget hotel-pension we really got our money's worth.

There was supposed to be free toiletries but there was only liquid hand soap.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but pleasant, clean, quiet, and in a nice neighborhood with quick public transportation access. Why pay a lot of money for a fancy hotel room when you want to be out all day sightseeing? Beds were comfortable and I would use this pension again.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Berlin. The customer service was exceptional, and the staff was always friendly and attentive. The facilities were excellent, and the experience was made even better by the affordable rates, especially for a location in the heart of the capital. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Berlin!

The staff was very friendly and understanding. Very helpful. Room was big enough and clean. It’s a nice area. It’s a well built hotel. It’s definitely safe.

Shared bathroom. But it was mentioned in the description. Bathroom is being cleaned very well though. I just prefer private bathrooms.

Well connected to public transport. Takes 20-30 minutes to reach the centre. Very peaceful and comfy so a good night’s sleep is guaranteed. The area is lovely with lots of green space, cafes, restaurants, shops etc.

A small mini fridge would have been fantastic to keep bits cool. Not a necessity though.

Other guests were at time somewhat noisy at night, having loud conversations. This is of course not something the hotel can be blamed for, but maybe in the future they should have someone nearby who could make sure that guests are not overtly noisy at night.
