This was our first stay at Minerva Hotel and surely it won't be the last. We found the staff very helpful and understanding. The hotel is excellently run and the level of cleanliness very high. We got all the items we wanted for breakfast. Moreover, check-in and check-out went without a hitch. The hotel is situated a few hundred metres away from train station on one side and a couple of blocks away from the Freiburg centre where you will find all kinds of restaurants, cafeterias, shops, big department stores and direct tram lines to various points on the city outskirts.

I loved staying at Hotel Minerva and visiting Freiburg. I had chosen the smallest room available, with a private bathroom in the hallway. The room was adorable, very comfortable, and attractive; the bathroom (with a key-- so it truly was private!) was large; the shower had great water pressure. Everything was perfectly clean. The breakfast was not only copious and delicious, but held in a lovely breakfast room, delightfully laid out. A great deal of care and pride is behind the breakfast, the rooms, the staff-- everything in this small hotel. Tea is available all day long, with a large selection of caffeinated and non-caffeinated options. I was even given a complimentary tram card to use for the duration of my stay. The location was superb, because it was a 7 minute walk from the train station and a 5 minute walk to the historic center. The hotel is as close to the historic center as possible, without being inside it. The housecleaning staff was great. Not only was everything spotless, but I needed help with a couple of things, and they were very gracious in their assistance. The historic center could not be more charming. Even the sidewalks are photo-worthy! Beautiful architecture, excellent coffee shops and boutiques make this a town to meander throughout. I live overseas, but would like to return to Freiburg with my husband some day to experience as a couple the charm of the town, the hiking trails accessed from the town, and the Schwarzwald. When I do return, I'll definitely stay at Hotel Minerva again.

The hotel is very well located for both the train/bus stations and the Altstadt. It was very clean. The breakfast was pleasant and generous, with the possibility to dine outside.

The room was very small, even for a single. It lacked air conditioning and a personal safe. Although no one comes on holiday to watch TV, poor weather one day forced me inside and the lack of non-germanophone international channels was a bit of a surprise.

The location is really convinient, especially I liked that it is close to the train station. The young lady at the reception was really helpful. I also like the breakfast.

Cleaning service was done while we were at breakfast, which I think is weird and too early. I even asked not to enter the room, but the lady did enter and when we came back from breakfast she was cleaning still so we had to wait outside.

We really appreciated the staff and their kindness. The location was perfect for us; just a 5 minute walk across the street from the main train station and 7 minutes from all the old town shops/shopping district. We also were given tram/bus passes for free during our visit.

Unfortunately, the bus/tram workers were on strike for 2 days. This obviously was out of the hotel's control. Otherwise, no complaints.

Pros Very beautiful hotel The staff were super friendly specially the lady at reception Room was decent for one person clean sheets and everywhere as well as the toilet Breakfast was not that big but it didn't need to be it has many things for you to eat and drink It's very warm as a hotel I didn't really need any heating Cons At night the other guests on thw same floor(3rd) were shouting like crazy people but that's not the problem of the hotel people don't have manners in 1-2 am I will definitely revisit or have it on my next when choices when I will return in freiburg

None everything was exceptional

Absolutely charming, attention to detail in decor, design, and function. Took advantage of laundry service, which was prompt and reasonable. Breakfast was exceptional with friendly service and a multitude of offerings buffet style to suit everyone’s taste. While located centrally it was very quiet at night, easy to find from the main train station. Surprised by the free tickets to use public transportation and pleased by nearby parking garage arrangements for our rental car. The hosts thought of everything and more- wunderbar!

We were three people - couple and adult son, and we shared a quad room. We were comfortable; the room was efficiently outfitted with beds, no chairs. We loved the breakfast every morning! The staff was very, very helpful and lovely. Great location to enjoying all that Freiburg has to offer.

If possible to have a chair or two, that would be great.

Fun talkative guests very much friendly, the wine festival in the city the days we stayed so we drank a lot of wine which we weren't supposed to drink so much, hobnobbed with international leaders at the wine fest,many German food specialties tons of live music in various tents lovely town of Freiburg I totally love that little city

Perfectly located for a short or longer stay in Freiburg, The Minerva Hotel is a comfortable, cosy and friendly place to stay. The rooms are a good size and comfortable and the bathroom was a very good size with an excellent shower. The owners and all staff were very friendly and helpful (if you needed any assistance with anything). I particularly enjoyed the wholesome breakfast which was served in the beautiful breakfast room. My second time staying here and I'm glad to say it was as good as the previous time.
