Our room was fine, as expected. Even though it looked out onto the street, it was quiet at night.

The shower head was fitted loosely in its wall bracket and kept swiveling toward the shower door, causing a puddle of water to form outside of the shower cubicle. After we wedged it with some paper, it was alright. Also, one bed was very squeaky and we had to ask to be moved to another room. To be fair, the staff were brilliant and there was no problem with changing our room and all was fine with the second room.

The interior of the hotel is very nice - kind of rustic and old-school. The location is also great - it's right next to a station where a lot of public transport (S-Bahn, buses) can be taken. Also the guy who checked us in was great - extremely friendly, shared a lt of very good restaurant recommendation and was just overall very pleasant!

The room was a bit warm and the pillow was a bit thin, but this didn't make the experience worse at all.

Lovely hotel, superclose to all the shops, restaurants and public transport. The first day it was chilly in the room and the second night they put the heating on, so it was a bit too warm. I parked my car at the Mercado parking and that was cheap too. The entrance for the Mercado parking when the Mercado mall is closed is on the Grosse Rainstrasse, the sign says 'P night entrance'.

The heating was centrally managed and the first night it was pretty cold in the room ( they did get me a second duvet though and that was nice) the second night the heating was working/ turned on and it was pretty warm/a bit too warm perhaps.

The location is excellent. The room is nice, clean, and cosy with a nice style. The mattresses are perfect. In general, the hotel has a great rate of quality vs costs.

The window in the room was located on the roadside of the hotel, and it was quite noisy in the night. Since there was no air conditioning in the room, we had to open the window at the night.

Hotel Altona is a medium-sized hotel inside a town house style building. It is just round the corner from Altona station making it very straightforward to get around the city. Inside, the hotel is extremely clean, well decorated & the staff are also very polite & helpful. The reception isn't open all the time however guests room keys will allow them to enter the building. The room I had was bigger than I expected, possibly because it was an accessible room. There was also a large en-suite bathroom with plenty of room for a wheelchair, including a walk-in shower. The area outside can be a little noisy but if you close the window its fine. The bed was perfectly comfortable although the pillow was basically flat with no extra ones in my room. Unfortunately, I couldn't work out how to change the language on the TV so it was of no use to me. Nearby, there are plenty of options for shopping & eating as well as transport options. Conveniently, the S-bahn from the airport goes right to Altona station too! I feel like I got great value for money at this hotel & I would definitely stay again!

I liked the interior design and old-fashioned flair and very convenient location. The bed was a decent size and comfortable. It was quiet at night and I slept well. The shower was amazing too.

I did not like how small the sink was and the lack of sockets as I could not charge my phone near the bed. I also wish the WiFi access could have been easier.

The room was quiet and occationally you just heared drops of the rain in the window. It was a refreshing night. The breakfast room is stylish and the breakfast above the average. The location is perfect.

There was no official way to charge your phone at your room, but using the wall plug of a lamp, its location waa actually perfect.

the extensive roadworks on Max Brauer Allee meant we had a short bus trip past the venue we wanted to visit - a pub called Malto, then had to retrace half that journey to get there at a gap in the barriers. Fortunately, although the place was packed, some kind locals told us they were about to leave, so that we could sit down in relative comfort!

The staff was super helpful and managed to accommodate us to leave our luggage in the room super early (we arrived at 9-ish). There was a slight mixup with housekeeping but that was sorted out super quickly and professionally. The hotel is located in a very central location and there are many trendy cafes and restaurants nearby. The building itself is older, but well renovated and charming.

The drawback of the hotel being very central is that it's quite noisy until late in the evening. Even with all windows shut, we could hear music and people shouting on the street as clearly as if they were in the room with us. Additionally, the AC situation is a bit of a mixed bag with the unit being entirely inside the room and having a pipe that leads to a window that needs to be opened for the AC to do anything. This means that on warm evenings the noise would be even worse.

The location is perfect, just near the Altona train station. A plenty of shops and small food stalls nearby. The room is big enough. The toilet/bathroom is quite small and might be hard to be used by tall or big people.

The internet connection was by a paper certificate that were mixed, valid and not valid together. I tried four times before finding a valid one.
