I chose this hotel for the easy access to the train station, but also because the rooms have air-conditioning and sound-proofing. Both are very important in Kieler Wocher! Lovely big room, very clean, free coffee - perfect.

There were many emails before our visit, indicating that there would be no human presence at Reception and telling me to check in online. I found that alarming - I am in my 70s and am unhappy to rely totally on technology for this type of thing. I was very relieved that there were 2 wonderful human receptionists when we arrived, so my fears were unfounded. I would suggest those "do-it-yourself" emails are reserved for rare occasions when there is no human presence.

Breakfast was okay. Not fancy and without hot dishes, but okay in comparison to the cost. Staff was great, smiling all the time and good service. Nice and clean rooms, good beds, and a hotel shower that actually works as intended :O) Good size of the bathroom. We used the parking house just around the corner, easy access, and city center is in reasonable walking distance.

I would say the hotel does not have any down sides. Good value for the monies. We could not get the self service app to work, but the staff compensated more than enough for this issue.

Excellent location opposite train station. Large room with sofa, complimentary bottled water, trouser press, spacious bathroom. Excellent lighting. Quiet. Decent breakfast buffet. Helpful receptionist.

Check-in quite complicated and data requested exceeded what I perceive to be normal at a hotel based on extensive travel experience, to the point of appearing invasive and possibly beyond legal requirements.

The location close to the main station is just perfect. The staff is polite and helpful. The breakfast place is very nice, the food is good and the Coffee Fellows coffee is excellent.

Once I came at around 8 for the breakfast and noticed that some buns are already gone and they don't supply new ones although the breakfast was supposed to be there until 10 am or so. If you want to eat the best, be there earlier. ;) The hotel room was surprisingly dusty. Under the bed there was much dust accumulated.

The location is excellent, making it very convenient to explore the surrounding area. Everything I needed was just a short walk away. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile and provide recommendations when needed. Overall, a pleasant experience and I would definitely consider staying here again.

The hotel was in a superb location! Just about across the street from the main train station and extremely close to a shopping mall. It offered excellent value and was quite comfortable.

We did ask for additional pillows as the original pillows were quite flat. The front desk clerk quickly brought up additional pillows.

Strategic location opposite main train and bus station to travel anywhere in the city and nearby locations, not far from downtown area either (can be reached on foot). Plenty of shops (shopping mall next door) and a supermarket open 7 days a week nearby. You get a free voucher for local transport which is quite handy and you can also use the spa next door (we didn't, so can't give any feedback on that). Free tea and coffee at reception. Room is big (with a big desk and a small sofa) and nicely decorated. Our room faced an internal courtyard, so we didn't hear any noise. We couldn't hear other guests either. Plenty of closet space. Comfortable bed. Small fridge in the room.

There are plenty of plugs in the room, but none beside the bed. The bathroom is big and modern, but starts to show some signs of wear and tear.

The room was larger than expected, very nice. The location close to the railway station was very convenient. Half an hour by foot to my meeting place which in fact I liked (and I had a local transportation ticket that I could have used in case of very bad weather) On request I got a water heater and there was free coffee available at the reception

Very clean hotel in great location. Cleaner than most 4 star hotels overseas.

If you want someone to clean your room, you need to let them know before 10am. This can be annoying if you want to sleep in etc. Interior is old but functional. The cutrains could benefit from a wash as some are stained.

Very cosy hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Should I travel to Kiel again, BerlinerHof will definitely be on my radar for the stay. We traveled w/ our car. Sadly it was too big for the hotel parking, however there was public transport (and twice as cheap) just around the corner.
