Excellent hotel overall. Rooms are well equipped, beds are good and bathrooms are also good. I'm on the tall side, so standing in a bath is not an ideal shower experience, but I'm just nit-picking here. Somehow I didn't get the Chromecast to work, but maybe I'm just getting old. Wifi is good, and you have a place to put your laptop and work for an hour or two. If you plan on doing more work at the hotel, better go downstairs to the business area. The hotel is located close to a tram station, which takes you to the city center in 10-15 mins. In my case, I needed to be at the Koelnmesse, but most public transport goes that direction anyway. During off-hours, an Uber shouldn't cost much more than €10-15 to get around the city either.

I filtered for hotels with a parking facility, which this hotel has, and it's very safe and guarded, which is nice. However, it is at a premium which I only found out *after* making my booking. Bit surprising, especially given the large number of parking spots available. Prices are always high during large events, but this was just a bit annoying.

I really liked the sleek, modern feel of the hotel. The coffee/tea set in the room was a nice touch, and I appreciated the abundance of plugs (though USB ports would also be useful). The Wi-Fi was fast and easy to connect, and the air conditioning worked perfectly during a hot 30°C day. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety, including nice options for those who don’t eat pork (poultry salami, shakshouka, eggs, smoked salmon, pickled herring, mushrooms). The staff at breakfast were efficient and attentive, replacing food quickly and clearing tables promptly. I also liked that the windows could be tilted or opened fully, which is not always the case in hotels.

The mattress was a bit hard, though still manageable. The bathtub felt quite narrow. It would be nice if there were proper espresso cups at breakfast, as the staff sometimes cleared mine away too quickly while I was still using it, thinking it was empty. The gym has great treadmills with the latest technology, but the weight training equipment was very basic. I didn’t use the spa and sauna because they were a paid add-on (€9.50), it might be better if guests could try it once for free. While the location was calm and not too far from Rudolfplatz/Belgian quarter, it takes about 30 minutes by U-Bahn to reach the Hauptbahnhof. The price was also a bit steep for the overall offering.

Quite central (easily reachable by public transport). Modern looking hotel. Rooms were well equiped and very comfortable, we had a good night sleep. Reception area of the hotel was very inviting. All staff was amazing from check-in, to giving us transport recommendations. The small store inside the hotel came in very handy for buying drinks.

Some gaps in cleanning: one room had biscuit pieces left from previous guests. Toilet had some areas not properly cleaned. The kettle for tea/coffee was dirty. There was plenty of white limescale hardened inside. When making tea the water was changing color. Would be handy to have in the bathroom some ear cleaning cotton buds, body cream.

Modern 4-stars hotel with 3 types of rooms, lobby bar, restaurant, snacks at reception and great, vast and very tasty breakfast choices for everyone - made fresh on the spot. Tidy rooms, excellent, friendly service, close proximity of tram station. Silent, safe neighbourhood - you can really rest after busy day (granted your neighbours aren't too noisy, as mine were :/)

Not many places to eat outside of the hotel, rather far from the centre of town, but tram stations nearby.

Very decent hotel very close to a tram line which can take you across the river very quickly and is easily reachable from a lot of main areas. I could argue that it was quite expensive, but during Gamescom I guess it is difficult to expect cheaper even when booking several months in advance. Room was clean, bed was comfy, electrical outlets were in good locations and the layout of light switches was very useful. AC/ventilation controls were simple and the AC reacted quickly although it felt like it made the air in the room very humid which reflected in the bedsheets being somewhat moist and cold.

The speed of WiFi was extremely slow, to the point of it being completely unusable to even just check emails. In this day and age, wifi at a decent speed (15 Mbit/s minimum to handle a basic video call) should be standard. Hotel room didn't have a safe or clothing iron. The checkin process through the self-service check in machines is terribly slow as it requests a lot of personal data to complete the process. This is especially true if your booking is made via booking.com as then you are assigned a random email address which gets passed to the hotel which you need to retype (and of course the keyboard layout is QWERTZ as it is in Germany).

The hotel seemed really new, the installations at the lobby and restaurant are really nice, the room was also nice, big and clean. There was plenty of space for the luggage and the closet was nice, there was also plenty of sockets, making it very comfortable. The bed was not the most comfortable but was ok. The bathroom was also big and clean. There is a tram station close to the hotel to get to the city center.

The glass from the shower was too small and it was not possible to take a shower and not make a mess. For a 4-stars hotel, we were expecting some good quality soaps and lotion in the bathroom but we found none, instead there was just a dispenser with generic shower gel.

The room was the standard clean and comfortable room that I would expect from Best Western. I took advantage of the express (terminal) check-in and check-out and this worked without issue. I can't comment on the staff, as I didn't not have any contact with them. The location is close to a U-Bahn station and is reasonably well connected to the rest of the city, despite obviously being a little removed from the center.

There was no safe in the room.

Very comfortable bed. I slept very well. Nice room with the opportunity to relax in a comfortable chair. Opportunity to make coffee or tea in the room.

The bathroom is very comfortable and clean. The shower is in a bathtub and it not such easy to enter the rim, if you are a little bit handicapped. For me this was not an issue but in case e.g. older guests should ask for this, if it might be an issue for them.

Helpful and friendly staff. 10 minutes walk to a subway stop or supermarket. Nice park just down the road. Nice restaurant and bar. Very clean and modern. Everything looked new. Good gym open until 11pm which is handy. Midday checkout always welcome! One of the staff managed to get me an iron and ironing board so I could iron some clothes in my room. Very helpful.

Could have done with a safe and a fridge in the room but other than that I was very happy.

- self check-in kiosk - the location is good where not very far drive to city center via car - few min walk to the UBahn/SBahn/Bus

- the pillow is toooooo soft - the room air conditional / ventilation is not cool enough especially we are in the summer-autumn transition period. if an ventilation fan is given will be very good - the room we have is facing the main street, it is noise even window are fully closed
