The hotel staff was extremely kind; they willingly helped me call the previous hotel to arrange the retrieval of a forgotten item and provided useful information about nearby attractions. I'm very grateful for her assistance. My room had an excellent view overlooking the Trave River. Staying in a hotel converted from a centuries-old building, yet so beautifully maintained, was a wonderful experience.

Although there were minor drawbacks, such as no kettle in the room and no eggs available for breakfast, these did not overshadow the overall great experience

I cannot speak too highly of this place. It is furnished to a high standard, very comfortable, a few minutes walk from Marienkirche and the centre of Lubeck, and serves a delicious great value continental breakfast. Most of all I have to praise the staff who are so kind and helpful. I was visiting Lubeck to research my family history and the staff here really went above and beyond with advice and assistance in translating documents. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

Nothing to find fault with!

We loved the beautiful, historic building. Our room, number 4 was literally a museum with a stucco ceiling from the 18th century and frescos, I believe from about the same time. Great shower with good water pressure. The location was amazing. Very friendly staff. We walked everywhere. Restaurants and Cafés are near by. Our favorite place for breakfast and Kaffeezeit was Fräulein Brömse. Delicious food and amazing cake in a tranquil atmosphere.

My husband and I like to cuddle, but the beds don’t allow it, but the bed was comfortable.

Beautiful building, beautiful room. We had one of the suites with original paintings around the wall and other old features. Very comfortable too. The breakfast was excellent and excellent value for money. Too many places that are already quite pricey charge a ludicrous amount extra for breakfast, but here it was only 10 euros each.

This is a really elegant hotel in an historic merchant's house, which has been beautifully converted without losing its character. I was given a warm welcome, even though I arrived earlier than expected and all the arrangements were explained very carefully. The hotel isn't staffed all the time but there are contact numbers available for out of hours support. Most of the rooms are on the first floor but help was provided with my luggage. There's a good supply of water, wine and other drinks which added to the experience.

Everything about the hotel suited me perfectly. It wouldn't be the place to stay if you wanted a lively party, but that's unlikely to be your reason for choosing Lubeck as a destination.

Lovely and historic hotel within easy walking distance of the Altstadt. Interesting to learn about the history of the building. Very nice bathroom and furnishings. Appreciated that it was a nonsmoking and non-pet hotel.

Although it is a nonsmoking hotel, there were smokers in the courtyard. Since our room overlooked the courtyard, we could smell smoke.

Comfortable room in elegantly modernised historical building. Location, location, location - for thé most part quiet at night. I stayed in room 5 overlooking the side street, very hot and stuffy despite both windows opened fully all night. A small fan provided but not ‘up to the job’

No laundry service offered; when travelling (unless you travel with lots of clothes) then it is necessary to launder clothes. No lift although staff helped carry the bags upstairs

A true gem on the "Altstadtinsel" of Lübeck. One of the oldest buildings in Lübeck and renovated with a lot of taste to a very high standard. The room was of a decent size, the bed was very cozy, the breakfast was not a buffet, but was brought to your table. Everything was of a very high quality and very tasty.

Excellent location. Excellent view. Excellent continental breakfast, individually prepared and brought to the table. Lovely old building with lots of history. Large room, modern bathroom and everything one could need. Good wifi. Definitely recommend and would happily stay here again.

An old storage house, renovated and furnished using high quality materials, preserving the historical atmodphere. I loved the heavy oak door, the stairs, the ceiling beams. Very good mattress too. And caring friendly staff. Perfect location at the canal side and a few steps from the old center.
