The hotel is a 16th century building in this charming old town full of narrow cobbled streets. We managed to park our car at the entrance long enough to unload our luggage, then moved it to the large public car park (Burgau) 10 mins walk away. There was no lift but my suitcase was carried up to the 2nd floor for me before I could ask. The German hosts didn't speak English so we had fun communicating with a mixture of gestures, words in our own languages and a little help from Google Translate 😏. We had to leave before breakfast several times and they kindly offered us packed lunches instead. These were ready to be picked up at 7am and were most acceptable. A refreshing change from bland corporate offerings, highly recommended for anyone who'd appreciate an authentic German small town experience!

Tricky to find but our SatNav got us there once we believed it - the cobbled streets are so narrow, steep and twisty we thought we'd strayed away from the road.

Hotel had so much character- much better than a generic accomodation. The whole place really felt like it was out of a different age, and amazingly decorated, but not at all warn out and very clean. This combination made it one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Bed was very comfortable, view over Monschou was great Continental breakfast was good Staff were very friendly throughout our stay- some spoke only a bit of English, but were committed to working through the language barrier for us

The wifi failed several times over our two days and took a few hours to come right- it seemed to be throughout the hotel and we heard others speaking about it. I hope they get that fixed soon

Big room with comfortable bed. Very quiet at night to sleep. Good breakfast in a beautiful and elegant room. A fairy tale spot as a stop over on a hiking trip.

If only the host and hostess would smile, even just once 😊. Under their reproachful eyes, I felt I had done something wrong or was about to do something wrong. Yet I believe they love their guests, from the way the fruit salad at breakfast was minutely prepared.

Excellent value for money. Beds were comfortable and place was spotlessly clean. Central location in the town. Good breakfast included in the price.

Parking was some distance from the hotel, about a 6 minute walk, although it was possible to stop for a short period outside and unload luggage. Although it didn't worry us, there is no lift and you could have a room, as we did, up 4 flights of stairs.

Central location in Monschau. Comfortable, cozy, felt like I was going back in time. Historic building, furniture and appliances a nice mix of antique and late 20th century vintage. Old School family-run inn. Owners didn’t speak much english but were gracious hosts and we could figure most things out through pantomime.

Restaurant only open weekends.

A great stay. Located in the center of the beautiful idyllic town with plenty of (overpriced) restaurants nearby. The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was solid, and the staff was friendly.

The only downside was the staff who did not speak English, but there are not many instances where this would be a problem. Overall a fantastic stay.

Great location. Close enough to public parking (Parkhaus Burgau). Good breakfast. The hosts are nice but don't speak English,or very little. Recommend learning some basics.

Curtains don't block the light very well, so if travelling in summer with long daylight hours it might wake you early.

Monschau is a very old town and we wanted to stay in an authentic old German hotel. This ticked all the boxes. we loved it.

i was looking forward to having a beer and eating in the old authentic restaurant but sadly it was only open Friday and Saturday, and we stayed Sunday. That would have really rounded off our experience. not a negative though.

Hotel awaits just in the heart of authentic, historical city.. where past meets the present. Completely different than normal. A bit of "have a sweet dreams" in the museum over the night, but that's special about the place. Very clean. Good breakfast.

P.s. Parking, maybe, might be a difficultie (a walk to hotel) if traveling with car.. Perfect if traveling with motorbike..

I recently stayed at the Hotel Graf Rolshausen for a holiday getaway, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. The check-in process was smooth and hassle-free, and the front desk staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities such as a comfortable bed, flat-screen TV, The bathroom was also spotless, with clean and comfort linen. One thing that stood out to me was the hotel's breakfast, with great spread The hotel's location was also a plus, as it was centrally located and within walking distance of many restaurants, and attractions.
