I loved the serenity and peace-"far from the maddening crowd", yet, close enough to hike up to get to the castle.

The property is very stylish, comfortable, well maintained and includes very secure parking with easy access to an elevator. The receptionists were both very friendly and were also able to purchase tour tickets for the unforgettable Neuschwanstein Castle. We thoroughly enjoyed being able to walk around the local environment with views of both castles. The room itself was very clean, spacious and quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet included a very impressive selection of savoury and sweet offerings. This is an exceptional property that is also very good value for money.

Nothing - a great stay.

The size of the room was great. The balcony was also quite lovely with a view of the castle. There was a full minibar and snack options available (all chargeable to room). The location was one block away from the trail up to the castle or from catching a horse-drawn buggy up the hill. The underground parking was also very convenient, but also for a price.

It may have been the time of year, but the hotel bar/restaurant was not open in the evening. I don't think there even is a bar. The only option was to travel 3-4 km out of town to find places that were open. They did tell us this upon check-in but it was still quite inconveninent, particularly because we did not feel like venturing out, so we had only the minibar items to choose from which are VERY pricy. We ate and drank nearly all that was there and I think the total came out to be almost as much as the price for the room. One of the mini bottles of champagne alone was €40. Kind of shocking.

I had the pleasure of staying one night at Hotel Villa Ludwig, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The breakfast was fantastic and richly varied, catering to every taste and preference. It's the perfect spot for couples seeking a romantic getaway, with its charming wood-style rooms and cozy balconies that offer top views of the stunning castle. The check-in and check-out processes were top-class, with the staff being incredibly attentive and accommodating. The hotel's location is superb, situated on the main street just five minutes from the public parking to the castle, yet it also offers its own convenient underground parking. The room was romantic and well-appointed, featuring excellent in-room amenities and a clean, well-maintained shower with great water pressure. What makes Hotel Villa Ludwig truly special is its unique style and warm hospitality. Despite its size, the hotel manages to provide a personalized and intimate experience. We took a short five-minute walk to nearby local restaurants for dinner, following a fantastic recommendation from the hotel staff. One of the highlights of our stay was the hotel's efficient service in booking our castle tour tickets. We received them during breakfast the next morning, saving us time and the hassle of standing in line. Our stay in mid-October left us with sweet memories and a fantastic experience. I highly recommend Hotel Villa Ludwig for anyone touring the area. It's a gem of a hotel, offering everything you need for a perfect romantic escape.

Nothing - all was perfect !

The views of the castle made this such a special experience! The breakfast patio was so dreamy watching the mist move in and out. Staying here felt like watching a fairy tale. Our room was so comfortable and quiet - best night of sleep I had all trip! The paid parking garage is part of the building and is very secure. They let you keep your car all day while you explore town and the castle. Highly recommend booking tickets for the castle well in advance because dates book up weeks to months ahead. The walk to the castle from the hotel is about 40-60 minutes depending on your fitness level and need to explore along the path. Avoid the short cut, it's very steep and muddy!

The hotel was ideally situated for visiting both castles in one day and a walk around the lake. All in easy reach on foot. The hotel was spotless. We had a spacious room with a balcony which gave us a spectacular view of the mountain and the castle. Good choice of breakfast and we were greeted with a complimentary drink and cake on arrival at the hotel. Brilliant secure underground parking was available on site.

Can't think of anything. Be aware that no evening meals are available but we were given recommendations for restaurants in town and they pre-booked for us.

The location, the staff, the size and beauty of the Challet. We had to change our dates due to flight cancelation and got a great response from the management even though the payment was nonrefundable. The Challet is self catering but the hotel provided free fresh bread service each day which was very appreciated. They also helped us with tickets to the castles. The service was very personal and we felt welcomed. The rooms were nice and the bathroom on the first floor was to die for. The kitchen is has all the appliances you can think of and tons of dishes.

We were able to leave our car in the garage until we were ready to leave the area. We had already checked out but they were happy for us to leave the car in the garage. I thought this was very generous.

Nope can’t really say anything displeased me. It was all really good and a place l would definitely go back to. If anything it may be a bit further out of town than some accommodation but that just reduces the traffic noise and meant we got we’re closer to the Neuschwanstein castle view. So again it was a bonus.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. We arrived well before check-in time, with luggage and stayed in Hohnschwangau well after check-out time and they allowed us to keep our bags there in a secure area both before and after. They also allowed us to use the restroom facilities and helped us with transportation and other planning details. Can't say enough about the staff's friendliness and helpfulness. Will definitely stay at Hotel Villa Ludwig if we come back to the region!!!

This is a very nice hotel situated in picturesque area below Neuschwanstein Castle and it is very clean, well maintained. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly.Lovely big room with very comfy bed, separate large bathroom and toilet, mini bar and tea & coffee making facilities. We had a small balcony with fantastic view of the castle. I highly recommend it for its cleanliness, warm and helpful service, view and location.
