Breakfast was very good compared to other hotel offerings. A lot of fresh foods, lots of variety. The restaurant for dinner was unremarkable.

Parking location was difficult to find until I got specific instructions from the front desk and was given a different address to put into Google maps. This should be given to guests ahead of time as it's quite simple to find once you know what you are doing. This is especially important in a location like this that is generally a pedestrian zone. I was quite nervous I was doing something illegal driving around the inner town looking for the parking.

The restaurant staff in general were super nice, especially Joshua and the kitchen manager. The hotel lobby, restaurant, and room were so beautifully decorated and the location was perfect for walk ability of Füssen and the distance to the bus stop and a grocery store was super convenient. The hotel restaurant served impressively good food - as an experienced home cook, I am rarely impressed by restaurant food. The hotel provided complimentary bus tickets to get to the castles. Side note: make sure you buy your castle tickets at least a month or two in advance to be able to see them and do NOT be late to your reserved tour time. You can definitely see both castles in one day if you give yourself 4 hours+ difference in reservation times, as they are within a 30 minute walk of each other.

The staff were very friendly in general (except for maybe one German front desk lady who seemed noticably less friendly to Italian couple we waited in line behind - but we've heard that the Germans and Italians are sometimes cold to each other). The only downside I noticed is that there is no elevator and all the rooms are on the 2nd-4th floors, so this is definitely not a handicap-friendly hotel.

Excellent location - easy to find once you're on the main street of the old city and easy to walk to and from the train station. The room was almost comically huge for me since I travelled solo, but I liked it. The room decor was more on the Old World side with red and gold, but it wasn't overdone and was still very nice; I almost did feel like I was King Ludwig himself staying there ! The hotel restaurant was very good.

I wish I was able to control the temperature in the bedroom. I wasn't overly cold by any means, but I tend to like the room to be a bit on the warmer side. I could feel the heat blowing out in the bathroom but not in the bedroom. It wasn't really a big deal though.

Everything was perfect: our superior double room was spacious and well appointed, the bed and pillows very, the bathroom with a big shower comfortable and clean❤️❤️❤️ The breakfast buffet was a generous and beautiful spread with different fresh bread rolls, pastries, delicious smoked fish, hams and sausages, fresh fruit salad, etc…👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The breakfast hall all in the style of King Ludwig🤗 Food in the restaurant was also very good👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 The location was perfect in the center of the old city❤️❤️❤️ and the parking space ample❤️❤️❤️ And the price was unbeatable for its location and quality of the rooms. Last but not least, great personnel whether in the reception, restaurant or breakfast. All very friendly and attentive❤️❤️❤️ We will definitely return to your house and recommend it to friends 🥰

About 3 blocks from the main train station (if you’ll be needing a taxi, bring euros since taxis don’t accept cards here)… the hotel is tiny however it provides everything you may need for a pleasant night of sleep. At the end of my day I was walking all over town and could not decide on a dinning option, I ended up having dinner at the hotel’s restaurant and to my surprise… it was one of the best meals of my whole trip! Congrats to the restaurant staff serving, they’re very dedicated

Lady at the front desk was a bit rough… perhaps just an average German impression to me, I think that could improve. Sometimes on the hallways you get a weird mix of odors (cigars and some other stuff) but in the room all good. The decor overall is a bit tacky and rundown but at the end it adds up to the experience since I believe they’re paying homage to Ludwig’s style

Hotel Ludwigs is such a sweet hotel that reminded me of home. Very warm, incredibly kind family-run business with old school touches like paper receipts (never see that anymore - made me so happy!), old fashion heavy gold room keys, happy hour in the salon, delicious Austrian continental breakfast every morning… our family loved our stay. Great location near the train station, and an easy walk into the old town. This is not a chain hotel! I noticed many repeat visitor checking in and out, so it’s a well-loved hotel.

Wow this is such a cute place that makes you feel like you’re back in time. I don’t always like to eat at hotel restaurants BUT YOU MUST. The food was authentic and our waiter, I can’t remember his name but he speaks 4 languages, very attentive and friendly, drinks were well made, and atmosphere was cute and cozy with back in time feel. BTW we went to one of those highly recommended authentic restaurants and were met with young not so inviting teenagers and just stood in the corner talking so we got up and left.

The breakfast ladies were not so helpful in providing information on unknowns on the buffet. I know they are young but snubbed us when I inquired about these tiny berries on the fruit plates. Don’t let that affect your stay.

Exceptionally clean and great location in the centre of town. Appreciated the email link to find the carpark. Staff supper friendly, Breakfast is not included but eas reasonable price and delicious so don't skip on paying the small extra charge We ate in the restaurant that evening food was great but be prepared for large servings. Great beer and atmosphere Reception organised guest card, so free bus to the castle and a small concession on entry to the castle.

Ludwig Hotel is exactly as described on their website. It has a huge locational advantage—being very close to the railway station and the bus stop where you can catch a bus to Hohenschwangau and then to the castle. It’s right in the middle of the main square, with plenty of eateries nearby. They serve a decent breakfast. The rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the staff are well behaved. I would definitely recommend it.

The only downside was that I found it a little pricey.

We love the well appointed room that we were allocated as well as the street view and close proximity to the centre of town! The on site parking was very convenient and inexpensive. The restaurant serves tasty food in really big portions and so value for money! We love the apple rings dessert which we cannot seem to find elsewhere in Germany!

The only downside is the absence of a lift/elevator especially for us with heavy luggages. The staircase was quite steep too so it was quite a workout.
