The location is fantastic. Literally across the street from the Porta Nigra gate. Our rooms looked directly on the gate and that in itself is nice and impressive. Convenience of the underground parking if you are by car in unrivaled. The staff are very polite and courteous and speak multiple languages (we interacted mostly in English & French).

The hotel surely has the charm of a once upon a time ‘in’ place but has not necessarily updated to be modern and fresh, neither in decor nor in appliances. The bathrooms definitely need an upgrade and almost impossible to get WiFi connection outside of the lobby. The hotel does not have room service which is fine but the restaurant was closed at 9pm.. on a Friday evening. The logic escaped me on this.. but fine, we ordered uber eats.

Breakfast buffet was great. Location was perfect so close to central market, historic sites, and bahnhoff. Parking at hotel was good as well. Cost for parking and breakfast were reasonable. Small bistro was very nice.

Bistro/bar hours varied in terms of opening. Would have been nice to be consistent and to open for lunch. Opened at 1700 and began food service at 1730 and closed at 2300.

The location is unbeatable—probably the best in the city! I stayed in a room with a stunning view of Porta Nigra right outside my window—an incredible sight to wake up to! Check-in was seamless, completed online beforehand, with just a quick signature to get the key. The room and bathroom were spacious, spotless, and cozy. A thoughtful touch was the welcome note and city magnet. The parking, located directly behind the hotel and underground, was super convenient with direct access to the hotel lift. Plus, the hotel is just steps from the city center and plenty of great restaurants.

Room enough space. Bathroom enough storage area. View from the breakfast table on the Porta Nigra. The bar has different types of sitting areas and has a lovely vintage look. Terrasse outside with view to the Porta Nigra. Nice sitting corner in the entrance/reception. All over very good value for money. Just cross the street and you're in the middle of the pedestrian zone of the historic city center.

Hotel could be renovated step by step by keeping it's current atmosphere. No vegan option in the restaurant/bar and very few at breakfast- a no go for Germany and very easy to set up.

You absolutely cannot beat the location. Minutes from the central area with front row seats (at breakfast) for the best view of the porta negra. Breakfast is hearty. Mimosas are available too! The bar is decent. Food is available till 2100. Rooms are of good size and soundproofed. Decor is bland, but modern and clean.

This was my second stay and i had HOPED the bad shower in my first room there was a fluke. It was not. The bathrooms REALLY need to be impoved. Because i could not adjust the shower head, i had to face it forward, which then sprayed water past the pathetic little glass barrier and onto the floor and counter. So i got to mop the floor with my towels after every shower. For the love of cheesecake, this is annoying. Bed was surprisingly hard...consider foam pads. Also, not every room has a mini fridge and being wine country, they should so that we can bring a local bottle of white back for later. This is a cheap addition that will be greatly appreciated.

Location is perfect, facilities, parking availability on site.

The night personnel could be more solution oriented. Booking this hotel for a business trip through booking.com was a night mare, booking.com and hotel are not well integrated, show different confirmations, results in different the invoices. I had multiple issues, much higher cost/price, had multiple long calls e-mailings, invoicing/correction process also a nightmare actually. I was happy with the hotel itself, but definitely not happy with the booking experience.

The best aspect of this hotel is a spectacular location - just actress the street from the Porta Nigra! View from my room was superb, and so much was in very easy walking distance. The room was a good size, and beds were comfortable. Breakfast, although expensive (typical for good German hotels), was a great buffet with many tasty offerings. I found my room to be clean, but some travelers in my group felt that the room was less clean than desired.

As this is a chain, it lacks the charm that locally-owned hotel might have. Wish there had been more types of Broetchen offered for breakfast, but that is not a complaint. . . just a suggestion. All in all, this was a very good stay, and the location was topnotch!

Excellent location, very comfortable and convenient for the town. Room was very spacious, quiet and I slept well. The reception staff were friendly and helpful.

Dining was a bit limited in the hotel, although the staff were lovely and polite, I felt that they were rather rushed off their feet in the restaurant. The hotel itself is rather a brutalist eyesore but that is beyond any reasonable expectations of a quick fix:) .

Perfect location right in the centre, opposite the Porta Nigra. We took a Porta Nigra view room and so worth it for the amazing view! The room was huge and super clean - the hotel must be quite old but has been kept to a high standard. Bathrobes and slippers provided, extra pillows supplied, good toiletries and finally a place that supplies conditioner as well as shampoo! Staff spoke excellent English and were kind and helpful, thank you!

There was a strong smell of smoke at the entrance because the smoking area is right nearby and the lifts are a bit slow but. I am just not picking now!

Very nice hotel, perfect location, kind and professional staff, SPECTACULAR breakfast. A bit retro but fits the town center's mood greatly.

The corners of the bathroom were not the cleanest but this didn't ruin the experience one bit, just a suggestion for improvement. This is not to say that the place was dirty, it was very clean and well kept, just nitpicking.
