Excellent location and the room was large and comfortable. Very clean. It's bare bones decor but perfectly fine. It can be a bit noisy with the cafes underneath, but I just used ear plugs. There is no check-in desk, so be aware there is very little interaction with any staff. I only had interaction during breakfast.

It was unclear that breakfast was an extra fee. I reviewed the listing after I was charged and it appears like you only get charged for wine and alcohol. It does not mention that breakfast is charged. Be aware there is no elevator.

Location is unbeatable - right in the middle of Altstadt, it is within a 20 minutes (maximum) walk from any of the major touristic locations, and the Hauptbanhof as well. The apartment was cozy (I got one on the third floor, with a balcony - beautiful view!), clean and neatly prepared. Kudos for the breakfast (and the jazzy soundtrack, very tranquil).

A couple caveats for anyone planning to stay there: the building has no elevators/lifts, so take into consideration carrying your own baggage upstairs. Staff speaks German only - but very friendly and will do their best to communicate in English :) Watch out for the night life: as the building is right next to bars/restaurantes, you might find it a bit noisy if you want to to bed early, mostly weekends.

I liked that the room was clean and had its own toilet. We were looking for a crib for our little son and the lady provided it. We also really liked the breakfast, in the form of a buffet and the choice was really excellent. The view towards the main square also enhanced our experience.

I would only mention the mattress and pillows, they are not very comfortable to sleep on, but that is only a small complaint.

Conversations from street dining can be heard when windows were open. I was there on a Friday and it went on quite late. Not a real problem for me, but it might bother a light sleeper.

Location was right in the city. Easy walk everywhere.

Noise, bars and restaurants outside with loud guests and workers until 3am. Was too hot to close the windows. Second nite was cooler and able to close the windows.

Breakfast was quite good, with a selection of self-serve continental-style offers, including cold cuts.

This was a downtown hotel with downtown sounds. Revelers yelling outside the windows at early morning/late night hours. Some carpet in the room would help the sound from echoing.
