The location was excellent. It was a ten-minute walk from the train station straight down the street to the hotel, which is sitting right next to the Porta Nigra (one of the most important sites in Trier). It is also at the beginning of the pedestrian zone. Perfect for someone arriving by train, but they also have free parking if you come by car. The breakfast was also excellent with lots of options, and there is no problem getting gluten-free options. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. Great value.

I have no complaints. It is not super modern with all of the comforts of luxury hotels, but it has charm.

Excellent location, comfortable, clean room

We hadn’t booked breakfast ahead and the charge of €19:90 per person is expensive. One receptionist took orders for drinks at 10.20pm but did not let us know at the time we would have to leave the reception area at 10.30pm: we would not have bought drinks if we had known we were going to be sent our separate ways so abruptly when enjoying the company of friends.

Great location, friendly staff, they kept the heat going strong when it was cold outside, comfortable, clean, you can ask for basic cooked food at breakfast, all good, I have no complaints. I liked that it wasn't as bland as the "business-class hotels." If it had more individuality/gemütlichkeit it would nudge up even higher, but it's a very good mid-range option (by my perhaps slightly grungy standards).

The hotel is located just in the old town, within a hundred yards or so of the Black Gate. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel offers a good breakfast. The staff are also extremely pleasant and helpful and in our case they needed to be. We had booked for one night, but due to a motorcycle breakdown we were stuck in Trier for over three weeks and they managed to provide accommodation, extended almost on a daily basis, for the full time. For any other bikers out there, there is a motorcycle parking area right in front of reception.

There is nothing to dislike.

Great location next to the Porta Negra. Short walk into the town. Nice room, very clean & pleasant for a 2 night stay. We have stayed here before so have a comparison to make.

No overnight staff, doors locked so you have to use rear entrance after 2230. No christmas decorations!!! Used to have a lovely Christmas tree in reception but not this year.

Good breakfast, staff very pleasant, excellent location. Particularly liked the provision of free water & soft drinks 24hr and parking for guests. Nice to see the hotel recovering after Covid.

The room was a bit small but very quiet and the bed creaked but was OK. Would have booked a superior room if there had been any available as the beds are better for our backs.

The location is unimprovable! The parking lot was just a very short walk away. The building itself, though in need of attention, has real period character. Soft drinks are free (self-service) in the lobby bar.

The room was small and basic in a 1980s way, and the pay-extra breakfast wasn't interesting enough to merit a second time.

The receptionist was excellent, pleasant friendly and very helpful and the room was lovely! An extremely comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom and everything was spotless.

The dictatorial attitude of the breakfast manager. She was abrupt, rude and unhelpful. She tried to put us on an upstairs table despite my explanation that I found stairs very difficult and I wouldn’t be able to carry my breakfast. When we found a table downstairs she shouted at us for taking it. Parking was 200 metres away from the hotel

The room we had was newly renovated. It was a Deluxe room. Super super new, bright, clean and beautiful. The room we had was at the front of the Hotel - on the second floor. The Hotel is located adjacent the Porta Nigra and Altstad. And they have a free open-air parking just 200 away from the Hotel which is quite unique in a location like this.

Besides our room, the rest of the hotel should need the same upgrade as the room we had. I'm not complaining, but it is a little bit outdated.

The hotel is very central for everything. The staff were very responsive and efficient and the breakfast was excellent. You can have free water and coffee all day. Parking was easy and the room we had on the 4th floor was quiet.

We were there for 4 days, so a fridge in the room would have been very welcome. There was no ice either, so we could not cool our drinks.
