- Super central close to touristic sites as well as the rooftops and cool bars - Super cheap - 5min from metro - Rooms only of 4 beds - Open 24/7 - Lockers - Seem to pair you with people of your age (?)

- Breakfast is basic - confort is minimal, which doesn’t bother me because it’s super cheap - too bad there aren’t more events for people to meet : more events organized or WhatsApp groups etc. Because I mainly exchanged with people from my room. And as a solo traveler, you look for connections with other fellow travelers.

Perfect one-night accommodation for visiting a local friend. We loved the area (very different from the last time I'd been in this part of the city, 30 years previously!) and it was very easy to find as well as close to the station and local amenities. The room was secure and comfortable and we enjoyed access to the roof top bar and amazing views over the city.

We had to wait a long time to check in at the reception, even though we'd booked in advance. Staff were mostly helpful but clearly preoccupied - we didn't feel particularly welcomed. The lift to the rooftop bar is extremely slow and only takes two people at a time, and when we went up for a drink around 7pm, they'd run out of beer! Breakfast was available the next day but seemed a bit chaotic as some people had pre ordered and others hadn't but were helping themselves anyway. I felt that it was a bit understaffed at a busy time at the start of the tourist season.

The hostel is situated in an extremely central location, just a few metres from Montastiraki Square and the nearby metro station. It used to be a "bad" area (so they say), but it got gentrified. The vicinity of the hostel offers a plethora of pubs and cocktail bars, providing ample opportunities to hang out. The bar in front of the establishment offers a range of breakfast options, including coffee, smoothies, and tofu scrambles. The room was comfortable and features a spacious terrace where you can smoke and enjoy the spectacular view of the Acropolis. For an additional fee, luggage storage is available both before and after check-in. The rooftop bar offers the same unparalleled view of the Acropolis but is open only until approximately 11 pm.

The rooftop bar closes early, and you can't eat food there or in your room. If you buy food, you have to eat it in the lobby. They didn't have ouzo, which is a shame. It would be easy to solve this issue :) Please change the music played at the rooftop bar in the evening. The beautiful view of Acropoli was ruined by loud techno/house/dubstep. It was impossible to talk, and the music did not fit the place. I recommend switching to something more appropriate for early evening drinks as the place closes too early for the guests to enjoy loud techno party music.

The hostel is very near the city centre and the neighborhood is safe also at night, with many bars and restaurants. The staff is very thoughtful, helpful and friendly: the hairdryer in my room didn't work, but when I asked the staff to help me, they gave me another one very quickly. In general they are ready to respond to any request or need. The room and the bathroom were simple, but clean and very comfortable. I would suggest just adding a little table to put the stuff. But otherwise, it was great. There is also a rooftop where you can have breakfast or take a drink at night. The panorama is unique, with a beautiful view of the Acropolis. In conclusion, it's the perfect place for visiting Athens.

It's in a great location and is an excellent value. The staff were very helpful and mostly friendly. Everything is clean. Everything you could want is right around the corner, or at least nearby. The roof top and main floor common areas are great for interacting with fellow travelers. All major attractions in central Athens are a short walk away. The guests are mainly backpackers and not broke Greeks.

My personal towel was taken by the cleaning lady, and it took some real effort to get it back. The fire alarms went off randomly a few times, and once when the building next door was actually on fire. The rooms are extremely small, not even space for 2 people to pass between the beds, but the price can't be beat. There is only a microwave, and no stove or refrigerator, although the receptionist can put things in the staff fridge for you. Pretty minor stuff considering the value and location.

Nice staff in the rooftop bar. Really nice view from there too, and a free shot is a sweet gesture.

The luggage lockers are for a fee. If staying in the hostel someone arrives earlier, it'd be nice to be able to leave the bags and not have to pay for it extra. It's a little weird since I am already paying for the stay and guests leaving the bags does not cause the place anything. Also lockers in the rooms require own lock, that's too bad the isn't one given for a deposit or anything like that. Not everyone travels with a lock.

Place was very well located! Pretty close to the metro station and also to many restaurants. The staff was very friendly and kind, WiFi connection was also great! Bed was okay too; comfortable for a night or short stay. I stayed for a short time so didn’t have time to check the facilities. Isnt a bad thing so I will not add as “didn’t like section”, but the rooms were pretty small. There were no so many space to put your luggage and stuff around even with lockers available, but the room them self was kinda small. Also, it might be people staying a little bit longer so would be great to have more rules or advise about shared rooms, the room I was at has a person and was so many things of her everywhere, even food, fruits and salads, could definitely bring some little animals to the room.

Great location! Such a fantastic area the hostel is located within. So many great cafes, restaurants and shops entwined around the streets, aimless walking is pure joy. The rooms were spacious and the lockers a great size. The rooftop cafe and bar has views of the Acropolis and is a lovely place to catch your breath after the Athens rush. The lobby area is comfortable with plenty of room. Similarly the basement is spacious and quiet, the paid luggage storage system in the basement is easy to use. The staff are fantastic. I need somewhere private to have a work interview whilst staying here and the staff graciously gave me space and set up a table.

The bathroom floor is always wet due to the shower having no curtain, and with 8 people in the room showering each day the floor mat didn't stay dry for long, therefore the bathroom is always a bit musty A mop and bucket would be preferable to the floor mat, that way you could clean up after yourself.

During my stay at Safestay Athens Monastiraki, I was impressed with the great location of the hotel. Being in the heart of Athens made it very easy to explore the city. The cost-benefit ratio was another positive point. With affordable prices for the area, I felt I received more than I expected. The rooms come with private bathrooms, which added an extra layer of comfort and privacy. Additionally, the beds were really comfortable, allowing me to have restful nights after busy days of sightseeing. Overall, my experience was very satisfying, and I would recommend Safestay Athens Monastiraki to anyone looking for a practical and comfortable stay in Athens.

The breakfast was okay, but I thought it was including the price but it wasn’t, I had to pay for it. The manager guy was rude and demand me to pay for it, his approach is very unfriendly.

The manager guy and the bartender manager were also rude. They think I’m a petty, gave them a $20 bill but I was told that this bill was fake and demanding me to pay the loss. I told them it was from YOUR people that gave me the changes when I purchased a shirt nearby. So I paid for it and dump the fake $20 bill because it’s belong to their people of Thessonaiki, Greece, and I walked away. I was turned off.
