The location is great 4/5 minutes easy walk to the main strip, walk through the apartment block 3 minutes and your on the beach. The staff are really friendly, clean and our 1 bedroom apartment was spacious. The property supplies pool/beach towels which are change daily, regular linen and towels changes, toilet rolls provided and hand/shower soap. The room has a fridge, 2 electric hobs, coffee machine plates, pots and pans, cutlery etc.

Main tourist Scandinavians and other Europeans nations who clamber for the sunbeds around 7:30am most mornings (not Brits!) approx. 30 sunbeds small area around nice size pool. Hotel owns the beach concession but still have to pay for sunbeds!! so go either side for the same money and get a good padded mattress with bed.

Excellent choice for accommodation in Platanias - swimmming pool and the beach acces (with sunbeds for free). I choose for the second time, Platanias, like a point to explore Chania - to visit Phalasarna beach, Limani Stephani, old Rhetimno town, Zorba’s beach, old Chania town, Theriso. Like the first time in Platanias for breakfast, New Planet bar it is an option - 70 m away. I use rent a car from airport - Sunny rent. The hotel have parking available for free. The staff of the hotel was friendly. I recommend warmly this hotel.

Everyone on the staff was super helpful and welcoming. We felt at home. The pool was clean, and the right depth (mostly around 1,45 meters). Most of the clientele seem to be families, so it is great for a relaxing vacation. The food at the restaurant was superb, and it is also nicely situated by the beach. We had dinner there in our 2nd night, and then stayed for dinner at the hotel for every night for the rest of our stay!!

The gentlemen in the reception were exceptionally helpful „above and beyond the call of duty” as you could say. Allowed us to switch on our second day from an apartment that there was absolutely nothing wrong with and over to another higher up facing the pool area and the sea just because I, mr.Grumpy had envisioned me as a Cretan king looking down over my land and sea and loyal citizens just as I turned 70. Or something like that 😄. Thank you !

Excellent all round. Great apartment - ideal for our needs, lovely quiet pool with added small kids part, fantastic location right by a nice beach and a great restaurant where we sat most nights for dinner watching the sunset while our young children played in the attached playpark in our sight. The staff were all wonderful, so friendly and accommodating, we felt very well looked after - much more personal than at huge complexes. Easy to walk to nearby supermarkets and other restaurants/ cafes. We also did a local “little fun train” and “seaking adventure” boat ride which were perfect. A great holiday and we fully recommend Melina Beach Hotel - we hope to return again. Big thank you to all the lovely staff, especially Thanos for his speedy replies to my questions and all the restaurant staff!

We stayed at Melina with two kids aged 7 and 3. I really appreciated the staff and the service. Everyone was very helpful and kind. We were accommodated very thoughtfully in a ground floor apt with a view to the kids playground and the sea. We had everything we needed. The room was cleaned daily. The location was perfect - direct access to the beach, and just a block away from the center of Platanias, where we could find grocery stores, restaurants and other entertainment.

I think the beach bar was a bit pricey, and there was no pricelist to look at in a visible place. We didn't use the bar and the restaurant much, as I cooked for the kids in the apartment, so this was not that important to me.

Everything was perfect! I requested an early check Inn and our room was ready from 11 am. Location - right next to the sea, but also close to shops and a bus stop. Hotel perfectly clean, rooms cleaned daily. Hotel area with lots of flowers and trees The pool is perfectly clean, plenty of sunbeds around. The restaurant is located right on the beach. The food was delicious, especially the mussels, but everything was perfect! The chef really knows how to cook. Hotel service - very nice! Niki, Kliton, Chef, Bartender and cleaning Lady - Thanks to your kindness, our family stay was very successful. Everything is much better than in the pictures! We'll be back for sure!

Apartment was great, cleaning staff super friendly and good. Also other staff and service worked well. Location at the beach super and free sunbeds at the beach for hotel guests a big plus. Pool area a little bit crowded and small and the water looked more like milk than water at some point. Apparently the heat with the small and shallow pool could not quite take the crowd. During our stay the water quality did seem to get better, but still not that clear. It is a pity there is not a bigger pool, that would make the place perfect!!

Pool times only until 18, after a long daytrip an evening swim would have been enjoyed by the kids. However, with the quality of the water its seems smart to have limited times to not totally overload the water. Pool bar was not open.

Perfect location for the beach and the center, lovely swimming pool, the complex and the rooms were kept spotless with friendly helpfull staff. Highly recommend.

The rooms are simple but comfortable and spacious. The cleaning is impeccable. The staff was really kind, from the reception to the cleaning and restaurant staff. The location is perfect, between beach and the mainstreet, in a quiet location. I don't think the pictures do this hotel justice. We had a perfect stay!

Very bad sound isolation and you couldn't get the room dark, might be a problem for light sleepers. It would have been nice to have free access (or free in exhange for drink orders etc) for the hotel sunbeds at the beach.
