I have visited Meteora many times. And each time I tried to change hotels to add new impressions to the trip. And the most amazing thing is that in this fantastic place my intuition has never let me down and I was happy with the choice of hotels for the night. This time the same thing happened and I personally perceive it as a small miracle and a gift from above. My large family and I stayed at the Epavlis Meteora hotel and we were surrounded by such attention and care from the owner of the hotel - Spiros and his family. We all immediately had a feeling of home and comfort. Stylish, very comfortable, very conveniently located hotel in Kalambaka right at the foot of Meteora with spacious rooms and absolutely stunning views of the rocks and monasteries!!! Convenient parking, many delicious authentic Greek taverns nearby, Lidl supermarket. Delicious and varied breakfasts are served at the hotel at a convenient time for you in the morning. The owner of the hotel, Spiros, is a walking encyclopedia of monasteries, he will tell you everything you want to know, his English is excellent. The ride up by car is very convenient and takes no more than 7-8 minutes. If I were to describe this hotel briefly and succinctly, I would say: this is a great example of the love of the family that runs it for their business and their clients, each of whom becomes special and incredibly important to them. They are doing their best to make their clients leave Meteora and their hotel HAPPY. This is real, sincere Greek hospitality. Bravo Spiras! And bravo to your entire family. My warmest recommendations and hope to visit Meteora and this hotel again. Finally, I have found the perfect hotel in Meteora. Best wishes and love from France, the whole Kantarzhi family ❤️🙏🏻🇫🇷
Everything was just perfect!

This was our second time staying at the Epavlis. The owners are incredibly warm and welcoming. They went out of their way to be sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast is wonderful, and the view . . . breathtaking. We stayed in Room 3 (twice!), and you have two balconies: one faces the rocks behind, and the other gives you a beautiful view of the town, mountains in the distance and a few rocks. During sunset, it's just breathtaking.
We didn't have a problem with this, and it's definitely not the hosts' fault, but the road getting up to the hotel can be a bit challenging because it isn't paved and it's fairly steep. The road is supposed to be fixed at some point, but it's unclear when. It seems intimidating, but it can be done, and it's a short drive. It's not enough of a reason to avoid it. Just be ready for a bit of a gravel road climb. It's very much worth it!!

The hotel and our room exceeded our expectations. The host, his wife, and staff were wonderful, helpful, and kind, and breakfast was delicious with many local specialties. Our room had two balconies: one that faced Meteora and the Monastery of St. Stephan, and one that faced the town and sunset. Our host kindly brought us a glass of wine for our first evening sunset. We could easily walk to town and many restaurants were nearby. The day we left to drive to Athens, our host hand wrote a map detailing where to stop for lunch by the sea and also make a stop at Delphi. That map is one of my favorite souvenirs of the trip!

This is a beautiful property, just on the outer side of Kalabaka. Our room was spacious, with 2 balconies, both viewing Meteora. It had a kitchenette too, which is always helpful when travelling! The bed was large and very comfortable (not hard like a lot of beds have been in Greece!), and the shower was amazing, with a lot of jets. Our room also had a loft bedroom with two twin beds, so it would have been great for a family. The hosts were extremely welcoming, and they brought us each a glass of wine to enjoy on our balcony in the evening. The breakfast was extremely ample, with all home cooked items!
It was a little bit hard to find this property. It is on the outskirts of the town, a bit, and the roads are not paved in this area, although they are perfectly fine to drive on. Because it is a bit far from town we had to drive back in (which only takes a few minutes) to have dinner in town. It was easy to do, just should be pointed out.

The owners and staff were wonderful. Breakfasts include many locally grown and home made foods and they went out of their way to meet my allergy requirements. The room was comfortable with two balconies (with wonderful views). Free parking is right in front of the hotel.
The hotel is above town on dirt and rock roads (they are used by on-line maps). It could be walkable for younger people but not us. At night, it was very dark and difficult to see the road due to the steep hill. While this was inconvenient, the caring service, the comfortable room, the wonderful breakfasts, the view, and the free parking more than off-set. We would gladly stay here again.

Our hosts, Spiros and Mary were superb. Very welcoming and gracious. The breakfasts were the best and included many local ingredients. Our room, which they upgraded for free, was spacious and had an amazing view of the rocks. We enjoyed seeing Spiro’s lovely wine room where he guided us to two excellent Greek wines to purchase and enjoy. Overall we had an excellent experience and wish we could have stayed longer. Meteora is a unique place and I’m so glad we visited. We came for two nights and three would have been even better.
The shower did not drain properly.

The location on the edge of town just below the cliff face was wonderful. It was quiet, had plenty of parking immediately out front and was well appointed. The rooms were spacious and clean with balconies and marvellous views to enjoy sunrise, sunset and majestic views. The staff were all welcoming and intelligently versed in the local attractions. The walk into town was 8 minutes, although the first 200 metres from the hotel was rather steep for those not accustomed to walking. You can drive however parking is a problem in the narrow streets so I would suggest a taxi would be logical. The Hotel breakfast was superb with options from the local area including home made jams, Greek pies, yoghurt and home made bread and cakes. The selection rivalled some 6* hotels I have stayed in worldwide and therefore a well deserved accolade from us. I would have no hesitation in returning and I would otherwise even entertain looking elsewhere.
A little smell in the bathroom which was dispelled by opening the window. This is to be expected in mountainous areas with temperatures averaging 38 c.

The views of the tall rock formations and St. Stephen’s nunnery were spectacular! The layout of the property was comfortable and inviting. And the ambience of the property was warm, pleasant and relaxing! We greatly appreciated the meticulously cleaned rooms and thoughtful touches. But what really made our stay extra special was the attentiveness of our helpful hosts! Spyros and Mary are a charming couple that made us feel very welcome and treated us like honoured family members. We highly recommend their homemade Greek meals; they are authentic and a real treat, served with gusto and in generous portions! Our stay there was truly magical!
We cannot think of anything we did not like. We only wish we could have stayed longer.

Room was spacious, well equipped, with a wonderful balcony, overlooking the wonderful garden and with an exceptional view of the Meteora rocks, Thessalia Valley and Pinios River. As we were at the outscirts of the town of Kalabaka, the area was full of gardens, birds that sung during all hours of the day and night (a highlight of our stay) and impressively without any insects at all. The breakfast was excellent with a decent variaet and high quality items. We requested a ground floor room to avoid stairs and was granted one. In total the staff and owner cater to all our wishes and even more. We stayed 4 nights and really would have loved to stay more. We were treated as VIPs and the same was noticed for every other guest. A boutique hotel with a total of 8 rooms, we strongly recommend it.
there were a few minor details that keep me from rating with a absolute 10/10. These were: a unpleasant smell at times in the bathroom and some common areas, a need for a few repairs in some common areas (the room was fine) and the semi-dirt road that we needed to take to reach the hotel.

Nestled under the Meteora mountains/St Stephen’s nunnery, Epavlis is a quiet gem. The room is very spacious and also included a loft with 2 twin beds that would be ideal for a family with 1-2 children. Our room had a view of the mountains and also the garden, where we enjoyed a late night beer/snacks that we had bought at a local mini-market. The property is away from the main city center so it is peaceful, but you will want a car to access. The owner, Spiros, is warm and welcoming - our stay included a lovely breakfast, including fresh goat’s milk yogurt, bougatsa, cherries and homemade preserves. There were many other breakfast options available had we chosen them.
