Fresh plentiful breakfast daily was very satisfactory. The view of the sea is to "die for", yet still highly recommend for those who will stay in this hotel for longer than three days. True, it is not a 5-star hotel , but hey, you are not going to Athens in July to live in the hotel. Otherwise, the room is more than adequate for the overnight stay. Just look at the final price tag at the end of your 21-days stay and smile.
Nothing to say here, because I plan to come back next year and enjoy another three weeks of life in Athens!

The highest praise goes to the staff, starting with the reception, who were very helpful and extremely friendly, the housekeeping staff who made the beds every day – I was truly positively surprised – and of course the team working during breakfast. In addition, the room was spacious, clean, with wardrobes, a mirror, and even a dressing table. Once again, thank you very much for everything.
The only thing I could complain about was the fridge in our room, which was working too loudly.

All staff were friendly and accommodating. Cannot fault the service. It didn't take long before you felt part of a family. The views from our balcony were great. Bees were great and plentiful.
I feel that the interior of the building deserves a little freshening/cheering up. We like the retro look very much but rooms, etc., look a little tired. Despite this, we will return.

The location is ideal (when arriving by ferry with a car) - easily accessible, close to the sea and promenade with big variety of restaurants, easy to park in the neighbourhood. Hotel is comfortable (furniture a bit dated but it is part of the charm) and quiet - we slept very well. A/c and fridge in every room. Good breakfast (buffet) in spacious room . Friendly staff. We stayed only one night as we were starting our road trip but we would have been happy to stay longer

The view is incredible! Nice staff, good price, great value. Even though the decor is very dated it is also charming in it's own way. Like going in to a time capsule. It stands out from other hotels, whether you like it or not is up to you.
The breakfast is quite basic. Not bad, but not great. The decor is dated, from another time period. Either you like it, or you don't, but it doesn't take away from the great value compared to price.

I am so glad that I upgraded to a room with a view and a balcony. Witnessing the movement of the luxurious motor yachts and enormous sailing vessels gliding to and from the little harbour immediately below the hotel was simply wonderful. The street in front of the hotel winds down to another larger harbour that has at least a dozen great waterside restaurants. I dined at a different one every night!
There is virtually no internet as the wifi coverage is so weak which forced me to use my cell phone as a hot spot. The shower could only be used by holding the water sprayer in your hand as the shower wall fixture was broken and unusable.

This hotel has a lot of character & the staff on reception were very nice & helpful we had a small room but for our 1 night stay it was fine , the breakfast was very good . It's position is very nice if you walk down the street there is the water with lots of boats & all around lovely places to eat , we throughly enjoyed the walk lots of bars & coffee shops. For us it was just a short taxi ride to the port of Piraeus so suited all our needs.

The sea views we had in our room were worth the price. That is for sure the highlight of the hotel. Very friendly staff, allowed us to check-in much earlier than the original time. We had a good quiet rest just as we needed.
Very-old fashioned in a way that some things should be changed urgently, such as our room carpet; so old and stained it felt uncomfortable to walk on it barefoot. Air conditioning was leaking and we had to take care of emptying some big bottle of water in the balcony that filled up at least twice a day. One night it started leaking and a part of carpet became soaking wet; these details bothered us a bit.

View and location were great for Piraeus. We didn't book a ferry which was the reason I booked this hotel as close to the port. Not much to see in Piraeus other than ports, for us anyway. We ended up hiring a taxi to go back to Plaka in Athens for a few hours. Breakfast was pretty good. Front desk staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Hotel and room are very dated. the toilet leaked in the room - there was water around the toilet when we got there. It didn't get fixed until around 5 pm the next evening. beds are super hard. We had three beds so we took the mattress off of one we weren't using and put it on top of our mattresses - this help us to at least stay asleep!

It is clearly an older building. Beautiful location and beautiful people. The building itself and the amenities could use a little bit of upkeep. The beds, furnishings, finishings, etc. were all a bit past their prime.
Some more updated modern amenities including the bed and furniture would go a long way to imrpoving the stay at Cavo D Oro. It was still a great place to stay, but it could be so much more.
