Perfect position over the harbour. Rooftop restaurant a definite plus for breakfast in the mornings.Pleasant staff, comfortable room,modern bathroom facilities. Hotel on a main bus route to the main port facility of Piraeus & ferries to all the Greek islands as well as a 20 minute walk to the subway station to central Athens. 10 minute walk to a selection of local eateries.

Being up high, the Alex is not an easy place to get to if walking. From the main station of Neo Faliro you need to negotiate a huge flight of steps as we found out. A lovely local lady offered to drive us up with our 2 suitcases. Recommend a taxi.

Breakfast was great, we had a view of the Acropolis, as well as the sea. I didn't think the trip through well, it was just somewhere to stay waiting for a cruise. We arrived really early (6:30am), hoping to drop off our bags, and not expecting anyone to be in reception yet. Not only were they open, but let us into our room about 8:00 am after having breakfast in their rooftop dining area (with great views). Also, a very comfortable bed. I can also recommend the cookies and cream gelato from a shop at the bottom of the hill, near the bay, sorry, don't remember what the shop was called.

The staff and service are the stars of this hotel. The staff were so helpful before we even arrived by arranging for a transport from the Port to the hotel. Upon arrival we were immediately helped by staff getting our luggage in and up to the room and getting us checked in. Any requests were handled very promptly. The room was modern and clean and stayed nice and cold which was wonderful after being in the heat during the day. The beds are very comfortable and we slept well. The location is near the port of Microlimano so many restaurants are within walking distance. Breakfast on the top floor was wonderful and again, service there was great.

The biggest issue we had was the hot water in the shower only lasted a few minutes and then turned lukewarm. Thankfully I didn't need to wash my hair because I would have likely been in a cold shower. We were only at the hotel for one night before a flight home so I didn't mention to the front desk. The bathroom could also use some attention as the seal on the back of the sink needs freshening and the button in the shower to turn the overhead on almost wouldn't work- seems like it needs repair. Our room was directly across the elevator so I would request a room away since we could hear many coming and going in the hall.

Perfect location 5min drive out of the crowded center on the marina, wonderful rooftop bar, fabulous breakfast, many thanks to Nikos from reception making our stay perfect, incredible politeness and professional and smiling staff. Excellent rooms, free coffee machine on reception, wonderful view of the marina... Everything 10/10

The staff was amazing! When I arrived, they welcomed me warmly and offered me a complimentary breakfast for the next day. They also placed my luggage in my room. On my last day, they granted me a late check-out and a welcome drink at the rooftop with a fabulous view. I truly enjoyed the drink while taking in the view before saying goodbye to this beautiful country. It was a memorable stay. Thank you to everyone, especially to the tall guy (I don’t know his name) who was always smiling and made my check-in and check-out even more pleasant while handling my luggage with care♥️

Nothing! But I suggest placing a small kettle along with tea, cups, and other essentials in the room, especially the one with a balcony. :)

When we arrived the front desk staff were immediately out taking our luggage, and offering us coffee while we checked in. We had arrived early due to disembarking our cruise early, but they were so very accommodating and gave us an early check in for which we most grateful. We had booked a superior queen with sea views. It was a corner room so we had 2 windows so double aspect sea views over the marina and beyond - even the Acropolis was in this view. The decor was lovely and we had a large balcony. We had dinner on the first night - great choice, fresh ingredients, well prepared and served. Stunning evening views. Breakfast was excellent - again great choice, fresh ingredients, exceptional views from the rooftop terrace, great service. All the staff were so kind, helpful, professional, well turned out and friendly. We had a 2-night stay and got out and about into Athens centre very easily using the Metro which was about a 10 minute walk away at Neo Faliro. Best stop to get off is Thiseio and follow the road to the right which brings you straight up to the Acropolis. If we ever return to Athens, The Alex would be our first choice.

There was nothing we disliked - everything was very good.

The staff were really friendly, we were given a room with a sea view which was incredible. Breakfast was well worth it, and the restaurant was lovely with indoor or outdoor seating. The housekeeping team were super efficient. We did use the restaurant for an evening meal and it was quality food and a lovely setting. I loved having free access to a coffee machine and water.

The bathroom would intermittently smell quite bad - whether a problem with the plumbing or something else. I would prefer not to have to use paper coffee cups, perhaps having a mug as well as a glass in the bedrooms. Would be less wasteful.

The staff were so very accommodating and nice. We were met at the curb, directed to secure parking, welcomed with water, and told where to collect our welcome drink on the restaurant/terrace level. The room was a wee bit tight, but the terrace and the kickass shower made up for the tight space. Seriously an excellent shower!! Also the 24hr coffee and tea station fortified us for the early morning ferry transfer. The staff offered a take away breakfast since we didn't have time to eat. A lovely experience from start to finish. Thank you. The restaurant was also lovely with good food and a great view.

Rooms were a little tight. Two people could not pass between the bed and wall or bed and table. If you have a lot of luggage get the bigger room or there will be no place to open it. We only had overnight luggage so it was totally fine, but if we had all the bags it would have been another story.

The Alex offers great value for the money. The amazing staff went out of their way to make our stay so enjoyable: so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. Our standard double room was very comfortable, the bathroom well equipped with superb shower, great lighting and even a bidet and, the bonus, the very usable balcony offering spectacular views both day and night. The top floor restaurant proved to be very pleasant offering wonderful service, excellent food and drink and a view at reasonable prices for the high quality provided. The à la carte breakfast offered at extra cost were excellent.

The Alex Hotel was an absolute gem. What truly set it apart was the staff—more than just friendly, they were genuinely engaging, informative, and eager to help. They provided excellent directions and made us feel truly welcomed. Our room featured a balcony with a breathtaking view of Athens in the distance—we could even see the Acropolis and Mars Hill. The location is equally impressive, with high-end restaurants within walking distance that rival some of the best dining experiences in Greece. Breakfast was another highlight—made to order, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. It’s clear the staff care deeply about every little detail, from the food to the service. Parking was private and secure, and the staff kindly allowed us to leave our car for a bit longer at no extra charge—just one more example of their gracious hospitality. All around, a wonderful place to stay, with the crowning jewel being the incredible staff.
