I stayed in a sea-view room for just one night, but I would have stayed longer. Very cozy, attentive staff. The room was clean and air-conditioned. The bed was very comfortable. Delicious breakfast. And a wonderful beach with sun beds and shower right by the sea. There is also a great bar with good drinks.

The northern part of Crete is very windy, and swimming in the sea can be quite a challenge due to the high waves. However, this is not related to the hotel, as they have created great conditions for relaxation.

Family ran hotel just a few steps from the beach where you have free sun beds where 5 (that we met) very fit and friendly staff look after your drinks, food and ice cream all day. Unreal service from morning til night. The breakfast was very nice, toast, breads, fruit, eggs, cakes and much more included in the very economical b+b rate. Their Gyros was also one of the best. Best cocktails in town mainly served by the fabulous Deelisa, nicest and best waitress in Crete!! And what can we say about Andreas.. a great host, very friendly and chatty. Will be back 💚🤍

Very happy that we chose this location at the beach over staying right in the town center. Alex provided a warm welcome. All rooms face the sea so the view is the best part of the deal. Spent a great deal of time on the balcony enjoying the view. Having an associated beach right across the street was a bonus as we spent one afternoon there (free sunbeds but you're expected to purchase food or drinks). Breakfast was fabulous - eggs, yogurt w/ honey, a variety of breads, ham, cheese and veggies plus fresh orange juice. Walked to the old town center in about 12 minutes.

Room was a little small with not much area to unpack. Could hear the neighbors on occasion. Traffic noise was no problem at all when the balcony door was closed.

The view. All rooms have sea view. You can hear the sound of the waves, but also the traffic noise. However, the balcony door did an excellent job soundproofing the noise. The wifi worked very well. For guests outside EU who have to mitigate roaming costs, this could be a major plus. Fresh orange juice at breakfast from real oranges. :) The staff were very friendly and the cleaning service was excellent.

Not really stuff that we did not like, but things that could be improved and other that needs to be taken into consideration when making reservations. The breakfast could use some variety. However, we found it very good. Some may not... it is not a buffet type. Parking could be difficult especially if you rent a big car. We found free parking places withing a few minutes walking around the hotel every night, but not easily and it was mid October. During peak season I expect this to be a bit harder. Again, I cannot say these two things I did not like. I was very happy with the breakfast and I did find free parking 6/6 nights around the hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Poseidon Hotel in Rethymno, Crete! This small-scale family hotel is a true gem, located right on the boulevard and the beautiful beach of Rethymno. The hotel has a lovely terrace where we enjoyed a good breakfast every morning. The rooms have been recently renovated and offer all the comfort you need, with a great bathroom and a balcony with a breathtaking view of the sea. What made our stay extra special was the hospitality of owner Alex and his wonderful team. They are all incredibly friendly and helpful, and nothing is too much trouble for them. Despite the hotel's location on the boulevard, we experienced no noise disturbance as long as the sliding door was closed. This ensured a peaceful and relaxing night's sleep. The hotel's private beach, Prasines Poseidon beach, was another highlight. The beach staff was extremely helpful, even when it came to setting up a second parasol. The service on the beach was quick and efficient, allowing us to fully enjoy our days by the sea. In short, Poseidon Hotel is an absolute recommendation for anyone looking to enjoy a relaxing holiday in Crete. Alex and his team have everything perfectly arranged.

It was perfect.

Superb location with seafront balcony and allocated beach beds opposite. Beautiful view of beach stretch to castle and sunsets. Walking distance to old town easily and flat, plus bus station around 25 minutes. Excellent breakfast and room cleaned daily. Really friendly and helpful staff. Deserves more than 2 star for sure. Fully double glazed patio door excludes street traffic noise.

Being on first floor noises from downstairs bar travel up and room walls bit thin.

Everything! Alex and his team are amazing. The breakfast is great, you get so much and it includes fresh orange juice! The rooms are a good size and cleaned every day. The best thing is the location: just across the road from the beach and only a short walk into the old town for all the bars and restaurants in the evening. The loungers on the beach a free as long as you buy your drinks there which is a massive bonus! We stayed 2 weeks and had the best time, all topped off by being able to see the sunset from our sea view balcony every night!

We chose to stay a few nights in this hotel because it was directly by the beach. Nevertheless, you can reach the city centre in 15 min on foot. There is a restaurant/bar on the ground floor, but we barely heard anything in our room, even if we were on the 1st floor. There is where we had breakfast every day with a good mix of everything and the possibility to order extra eggs or Greek yogurt. The staff was very nice and helpful with our requests.

You barely hear anything from the bar below, but the street in front gets busy throughout the day. If people smoke at the bar, you can smell it on the stairs and directly by the room entrance. Moreover, if the air conditioning is on inside the room, you cannot sit on the balcony, as the hot air is directly thrown at you.

Seeing the balcony and view as soon as I opened the door... this was the place for me. The bed was extremely comfortable. Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure. I left the door open at night so I could listen to the waves. Breakfast was included in the restaurant/bar downstairs. Very friendly staff... made me feel at home. This property felt very safe for a solo traveler.

The hotel is located on the seafront, and the view from the balcony is amazing. The conditions in the hotel are very good, daily cleaning, and Alex a special person, who tried to fulfill all our wishes, from parking reservation to directions for visiting the island. The breakfast was very good, like the rest of the meals served in the restaurant. Thank you for everything Alex and Ioana, we will gladly return to this hotel!
