The facilities of the accommodation exceeded all expectations. The excellent location at the old town and the aesthetics of the place, the cleanliness and the kindness of the staff and the owner create all together the best hospitality conditions for every traveler. I highly recommend it.

An oasis within Old Rethymno, this was a lovely old courtyarded property that had been restored, maintaining all the rustic charm but with the modern touches and facilities you need on vacation. The location was good, close to parking options with a grocery around the corner and only a short walk to more bars, restaurants and shops, and of course the fortress and waterfront. We came in late March, so the pool and breakfast weren't up and running, but we really enjoyed our time in this property. Our room had a balcony over the street with a sea view and a roof terrace.

Something you should know if you come by car, and no reflection on the property, is that there is no parking in the Old Town. The streets are too narrow so coming back from a day trip meant finding a parking space, which was a lottery as everyone who lives in the Old Town needs to park overnight. Infact the place is close to options around the stadium which was good, especially for luggage transfer.

Can’t say enough beautiful things about our stay!! Gorgeous hotel. Super clean. Staff is incredible! We love Irini so much. She made sure we had the most amazing breakfasts. Such a perfect way to start the day. We spoke to the owner a little and he was very kind. It was nice relaxing by the pool in the evenings. Just a bit too cold to swim in it but it’s ok! Beach was just a quick 20 min walk and it was stunning. The best restaurants were just walking distances away. Shopping streets. Mini market. Honestly a perfect stay and I wish I didn’t leave! Thank you!!!

Our family of four stayed in an apartment in the same building where breakfast was served and it exceeded our expectations. The apartment was very spacious and well decorated. It was clean, the air-con was good, as was the Wi-Fi. Breakfast was traditional and home made with a different selection served to us each morning. We enjoyed the pool as it was very hot during our stay so a dip cooled us down. We were delighted with the location as it is close to the restaurants, bars and shops, and a useful grocery shop just a dozen steps away which stayed open late. The beach is about a 20 minute walk. We knew that beforehand and were pleased with our decision to be closer to the old town. The old town is beautiful and far larger than we expected which was fantastic. Tourist Information by the Venetian port was useful.

Nothing to dislike. A chest of drawers would be useful in the main bedroom.

We had a 4 night stay,it was perfect. Lovely people looked after us during our stay. We had breakfast around the little pool with beautiful shrubs/flowers. Each morning we had different Greek dishes brought to us for breakfast all delicious. The accommodation was spotless with comfortable beds and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It was the perfect location a few strides and we were in the beautiful old town . With many restaurants and shops to choose from. Only a short walk to the harbour and lighthouse and also within walking distance of the beach (approx 15 minutes) where we could pay for a parasol and sun loungers.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS HOTEL!!!!!Veranda Rossa Suites Rethymno I cannot begin to express how incredible our stay at Veranda Rossa Suites was from the moment we arrived until we left. The hotel is both breathtaking and unique. The lofts were spectacular and they we had a multi level one that was breathtaking. Our gracious and loveable host Irene treated us to the most delightful and delicious breakfast everyday. We couldn’t wait for her daily breakfast and SMILE. We had booked 3 rooms and all of them were immaculate and extremely clean with everything we could imagine and more. Our rooms were situated in the best part of town accessible to the beach by a short 20 minute walk and the best Φούρνο (a small window where he makes the best pies and bougatsa) close by a few steps away. The corner restaurant was unreal with small delicious appetizers plates and great wine. (Asteras cafeneio) I would recommend this hotel for everyone to experience in their lifetime. We miss it already!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH IRENE AND EVERYONE AT THE HOTEL FOR MAKING OUR STAY THE MOST MEMORABLE THUS FAR!!!!!

The location was excellent. Close to restaurants and shops . Pretty courtyard and breakfast Was nice . Apartment comfortable and well equipped .

Had a 5 month old baby and a lot of luggage . Would have liked ground floor accommodation as difficult taking luggage up stairs and ended up leaving buggy downstairs in courtyard . Small pool welcome but 6 deckchairs to accommodate 11 rooms (meaning possibly 22 people plus ). Parking almost impossible. As others have mentioned , you can end up in any one of 3 blocks although all close to breakfast and pool .

The location is great - just on the edge of the old town and walk to everything. The apartment was clean and comfortable and well equipped with plenty of space . The breakfasts were good , served just outside our room in a verandah area by a very friendly lady who cooks fresh egg dishes on site.

There was ‘background’ music played through speakers in the courtyard area right outside our room which was quite annoying . It meant you couldn’t sit outside just to read a book and at night. It went until 10 pm and could be heard in our apartment. It would be more peaceful without it. I mentioned it to the owner/caretaker(?) who was onsite but he wasn’t keen to turn it off. Be aware that there is street noise at night as the bedroom is right on a street in the town. Also be aware that there is not really ‘free parking’ available nearby as the area is totally parked out all the time. We had trouble finding a park and ended up parked a long way away- it was parked out the whole of our stay and it wasn’t peak season yet . Better to stay if you don’t have a car.

Beautiful hotel in a great location at edge of old town. Very nicely done up, clean, tranquil, amazing bougainvillea plants everywhere. We had a lovely view across the rooftops from the balcony. Breakfast was also great, another wonderful setting, with small changes every day to sample different greek foods. If you are vegetarian just remember to explain in advance and ask that your food is on different plates if you don’t want cheese touching meat. Kitchenette was well stocked for our minimal needs (crockery, knives etc.). Washing machine provided too. We were able to leave our bags for a few hours after check out and before departing the city. Day trips to Heraklion-Knossos and to the south were very easy from here - the drive over the hills was fantastic.

There were a lot of stairs for my elderly parents to navigate and the stairwell lighting was poor for someone with bad eyesight (and it didn’t come on until you were halfway down). And the twin beds were a bit odd - one was higher up than the other making it accessible for only one of our party which meant we had to organise ourselves differently to use the rooms. Not the end of the world but some photos in the advert would have made that clearer, I think only the double is shown. Parking was limited. We found a spot every day but often it was the only spot available so we we lucky - during peak season I wouldn’t want to have a car there!
