We loved the 'out of this world' views of the port (we had the first floor corner apartment with 2 balconies) and the location of the apartment was great. We also liked the 'Rustic' and 'Atmospheric' nature of the apartment. The functioning Aircon on both levels was a life-saver on the heat, and meant that we could enjoy the views even more. The balconies were also great and we could sit out and enjoy a drink. The captain was great and entertaining and gave us some good advice. His son and daughter who run the restaurant downstairs (where you often get a discount) are also lovely. Even with the drawbacks we mentioned in the other section, would we stay again - definitely!

Some minor or not so minor negative elements: the equipment and fittings of the apartment were a little old / mismatched (eg cutlery, crockery, cups, glasses), no shower holder. Massive in low beam in bathroom that we kept hitting our heads on (and we're short).

Top suite, fantastic views, great Aircon, comfy bed, good furniture on terrace, shade available all day if needed. Shutters on windows to keep light out in early morning. Attached cafe is great, staff friendly and food good. Symi is a busy little port, brought a book and 2 magazines to read and never opened them due to watching boats 😂. Cleaners come in every day and do a great job.

Shower poor, spiral staircase awkward for arrival and departure for cases. Kettle very slow These are all insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

Location. Views. Facilities. Staff 100%. Really quirky room - No 34 with a gallery bedroom and the comfiest bed ever also a single bed settee downstairs (bedroom has fantastic air con). Harbour views from the large terrace - could have sat there all day. Room has a mini kitchenette to make a cuppa and keep the wine cool - I could go on! Captain Iannis and his family are amazing hosts. Lovely bar cafe on site. Could have stayed much longer. Iannis was waiting at the port for us to pick us up which was so welcome despite it being a short walk it was so hot.

We stayed in the superior suite, everything was perfect, exceptionally clean and the location is amazing. Will definitely be going back. Thank you, Giannis and your great team. 5*****

Not a problem to us (a couple in our 50’s)in the slightest in fact we found it quite novel - stairs to room are a spiral staircase and not suitable for old or infirm people.

Perfectly located on the waterfront, within walking distance from the port and basically right next to everything such as taxi boats, restaurants, shop etc. The owners were friendly, welcoming and attentive to our needs. We also enjoyed our breakfasts at the owners bistro downstairs and afternoon drinks. Overall a great holiday experience at Symi and Captains Suites!

Basically nothing, everything and everyone were great.

Super location right on the seafront, in a renovated old building. I was given a room with access to a private balcony/terrace with a fantastic view of the harbor. Good value from money considering location. Larger apartment than I was expecting, with an upstairs bedroom. Facilities such as hot water and WiFi all in good working order. There was a kitchen but I didn’t use it and didn’t even look at the cooking utensils so can’t comment on them.

Nothing really was negative for me. It has some narrow and steep stairs that could be tricky for someone with mobility issues. Likewise if you are tall you need to be cautious about banging your head on some low areas. Just the nature of an older building.

Captain’s Suites are in a perfect location with spectacular views over Symi port. We were in the top floor room with a huge terrace and sun loungers and outdoor seating. Really comfortable bed. We did view an economy room but decided to upgrade as the top floor room was available and so much nicer. Symi was wonderful, we loved it!

There is a tight spiral staircase up to the room, but owner assisted with luggage. The Wi-Fi wasn’t great.

The view and the location. Situated by the middle harbour it was in the centre of Yialos surrounded by all possible tourist amenities. The view from our room was wonderful, sea, boats, beautiful houses and stunning scenery. Yannis the owner was exceptionally helpful, he let us check in early and drove us to the port to catch our ferry back to Rhodes.

We had room 35 which had a rather low ceiling beam. The stairs from the living area to the bedroom are quite steep.

Captain Yanni, his wife, entire family & staff were wonderful! We took advantage of his private charter boat for our group of 6 for an island tour of the day. Private beaches, Monastery visit by boat, swimming, lunch at the most secluded beach restaurant all added up to one of the most magical days ever! Location is perfect to soak in Symi’s views! We rented 3 rooms, each had own charm & character. Rooms are clean and nice breezes flow through, or AC is available. Cafe downstairs was a perfect meeting point for our family.

Be aware lots of steps, worth the climb for room views & accomodations. Just note must be able to maneuver steps with luggage.

location was wonderful. afternoon drinks on the roof terrace was fantastic as we watched life in Symi continued on.

We didn't mind the internal spiral staircase to get to our apartment.....it was easy for us because we only travel with carry on luggage. it would be a problem for anyone with big bags. other than that it was a wonderful place to stay.
