Quirky little studio building at the back of the town, fortunately on a level with the port so no steep steps to climb. It is in a residential area and next to a school. The studios are a decent size and have kitchen areas. There are no individual balconies but plenty of outside space with sunbeds, tables and chairs and even hammocks. Great place to relax. It is colourfully decorated with interesting objetcs and plants. The two women who do the cleaning and generally look after the place were very friendly and helpful. Easy walk from the waterfront in the centre of the U-shaped bay so well located for shops, bars and restarants as well as the bus stop and ferry docking areas (apart from the big ferries which dock 20 minutes walk away).

When I arrived I found that I had been allocated a four-bedded apartment which was a semi-basement. That wasn't an issue in itself but the two "bedrooms" were raised patforms accessible by little steps. They had mattresses on the floor for beds. I found this very difficult (as a 68 year old with arthritis). Luckily a double room became available the next morning so I was transferred to this and it was great (see review). I am just pointing this out because if you have any mobility difficulties you need to make sure you don't have a Dodecanese-style raised platform as a bedroom.

We loved Garden Studios’ perfect location (couple of mins from the harbor, yet quiet and relaxing.) and its authentic charm—wooden ceilings, a kitchenette, and a balcony with *postcard-worthy views*. The hosts were friendly and helpful when we met them, and the courtyard sunbeds were a lovely touch.

Two small downsides: 1. Bathroom flooding: The shower’s old-style setup meant water spilled everywhere—pack flip-flops! 2. Check-in hiccup: Arriving late, we struggled to reach the host initially. *Tip: Confirm arrival plans in advance.* Despite these quirks, it’s great value for Symi. We’d stay again!

Nestled in a tranquil area, yet just a short walk from the bustling harbor, the location couldn’t be better.-filled oasis whenever we wanted. The studio itself is cozy, tastefully decorated, and impeccably clean, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated the outdoor terrace seating area—a perfect spot to start our mornings with coffee or unwind after a day exploring the island. Our host Adam was incredibly warm and welcoming, offering helpful tips about what to see and do on the island. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home, and their hospitality really made our experience special. Overall, Symi Garden Studio is a wonderful choice for anyone looking to enjoy the authentic beauty of Symi. The peaceful ambiance, beautiful surroundings, and exceptional service make it a place we’d love to return to. Highly recommended!

Value for money. Spacious room. Close to town but a little further back so less noisy and hardly any foot traffic. Beautiful well kept garden. Helpful friendly staff. Well equiped kitchen with salt and pepper and tea and coffee.

Bathroom tiles are slippery when wet. Lots of cats in the area and I am allergic but I think they are everywhere in town! Internet was quite unstable. Could do with a toaster. Cost 20 euos to book a taxi to the main port which is quite unreasonable so if staying here be sure to take a ferry that stops closer so you can walk.

Our studio (no. 14) was quirky and perfect for our stay (one night). It has a small but well equipped kitchenette. The bed is on a platform, super cute and very comfortable but requires some care and when going to the bathroom during the night! Great air-conditioning. Excellent location, 2 mins walk from heart of the town, and a flat walk to the main ferry harbour in about 20-25 mins.

Small details only. The bathroom is a little dated, and there's no avoiding the floor getting wet, but it was no big problem. The only staff on site are the cleaning staff, who are lovely. We had tried contacting staff to ask about leaving our luggage for a few hours after we check out, but got no response to email or text via contact details on this site. But calling them on the phone we got through no problem. (And we were able to leave our bags, which was great).

This was our second stay at here, having enjoyed the first time so much. Set back from the harbour, thus quiet, but only a couple of minutes easy walk to the restaurants and shops, our basic but very colourful apartment (top level) had a lovely balcony with glorious red bougainvillea, two chairs, table, and sunlounger, with mountain (OK, big hill) and sea views (slightly spoiled this time by the scaffolding around the church tower, but not the property’s fault!). The wooden stairs up to the mezzanine with its double bed are very steep, so might not suit all. Otherwise, the perfect base for beautiful Gialos (Symi) harbour and town.

The strange absence of soup/cereal bowls meant that I had to have my morning cereal out of a saucepan! And the shower had to be hand-held, as there was no way to attach it to the wall.

This colorful mansion is designed to be a gem 💎 even in terms of Symi where everything is a state of art. The room is spacious, the balcony has table and chairs, the kitchenette get some plates and utensils. It hardly could look better!

The manager is constantly absent, no answer for messages, phone calls, Whatsapp, nothing. Any communication is a problem be it a check in, check out or anything. The cleaning stuff is on site but they don’t know languages. They want to help so they call the manager over very secret phone number, and try to understand what to do. Just a mess.

I love the garden studios..this is the 3rd time we’ve stayed there. This particular studio was spacious, had a lovely terrace and was extremely clean and comfortable…

The shower took a bit of getting used to..and the lights are not very bright..otherwise perfect

I have stayed in the most beautiful and colorful place :) Absolutely loved it. The room has everything it needs for a stay. Quiet little gem!
