All the hotel staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Including the lady at reception, the team in the breakfast area, the cleaners to the shuttle bus driver. Nothing is too much trouble. My room was clean, well lit and large, with an outstanding view of the sea and mountains around Zakynthos town. The communal areas of the hotel are really clean and there is a very informal / relaxed feel to the place. The hotel pool and the view of Zakynthos town / bay is amazing. Especially at night. I would consider the location to be a positive, but there is a good 20 minute brisk walk to the town. It's uphill on the way back, so this won't be suitable for all. However they do have a shuttle bus or taxis are available. The hotel shuttle bus is extremely useful and the driver is friendly and efficient.

The only part of my stay that I think could have been somewhat better. The breakfast was adequate, but I think improvement in this would make a huge difference. More fresh fruit and pressed juices would be really appreciated as well as muesli and varied fresh bread options etc. Along with better coffee from a more modern machine. Additionally the eggs were tough to eat.

One of the best hotel views in Zakynthos, it's positioned quite high and you can see the port and town.

Not something specific, just not what I expected for the price paid, food, service and conditions are average at best. Hotel rooms, especially bathrooms could really use a renovation. Did not expect to find mold at such a hotel.. Quite noisy room service every morning, always would ignore DND signs. Doors being slammed and not well soundproofed. Hotel room door opened or close is pretty much the same...

Great location and a wonderful view

A neat hotel with a great location, the hotel staff and policy should work hard for the peace and relaxation of all their guests. I say this because in the early afternoon on one of the days of our stay, we were pelted with ice cubes (3-4cm) on the balcony of our room by other apparently inebriated hotel guests. After our complaint at the reception, nothing followed, apparently the tolerance of this hotel has a rather high upper limit, so if other guests hit you with various objects, this is ok for the hotel. If you agree with the above, don't hesitate to book the hotel, the location is perfect.

The place is really nice, with great view, few coffe shops for breakfast and a small shop. 10 min by walk to the city . The suite was great , after we fix few things. Water in the suite pool had a nice outside temperature (depends of the weather). You will move better on the island with a car thats for sure.

😅 Prepare to wake up at 8 am , you will hear all the chairs moving ,above suites there is breakfast buffet and restaurant(if you would like to sleep a little longer not possible). I would say the music from the bar is quite loud, not everybody wanna listen to it on vacation, amazing sounds of the nature are more than enough. For the Adults only hotel which normaly cost a bit more in general you dont expect to find yourself at breakfast with 2 small babies. I payed to stay in adults only!!! And it has to be sad its a lot of humidity in the suits, the shower was not clean properly.

Really well stocked breakfast with a variety of foods and fresh fruit, fresh fruit was also provided in our fridge in our room when we arrived! Staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The pool was the highlight of our stay with beautiful views. There were always beds available no matter what time we went to the pool, even when they were fully booked. The bathrooms were of good standard, and looked freshly painted. Bed was comfy, particularly the pillows! Air con was perfect in the hot month of August. We were glad that we booked the room without the pool view, our balcony would get the sunset and would remain cool in the shade during the morning and afternoon. Plenty of parking if you’re renting a car!

The rooms aren’t soundproof - and it can be quite noisy at night with people returning to their rooms. We weren’t able to get access to an iron and they did not have an ironing board. I would strongly recommend renting a car, the hotel is far away from everything, but definitely worth it for the beautiful view by the pool in my opinion, most people recommend renting a car anyway to explore the island!

Beautiful view! Lovely, friendly staff - girls on reception amazing, so helpful! Great breakfasts. Clean rooms, so nice inside, good bathroom with powerful shower and hot water, comfortable big bed. We had a room with a pool as it was our honeymoon, truly amazing 🤩 I did not think the hotel looked old at all, it is beautiful, spacious, quiet.. culturally decorated. Mini market 5 min walk away. Highly recommend Avalon Hotel, one of the best hotels ever been to!

Not a problem but we thought it was an adult only hotel, as per booking.com, but children are welcome here.

View was beautiful, my room with own swimming pool was great, breakfast was ok. Location is super. People at the reception were great, especially the manager and one of the reception ladies.

You could hear people next to you watching tv, can be a bit updated, reception area and breakfast area outdated. Coffee and drinks were not good at breakfast. Person at the reception during the night could not speak English. Wine and cocktails were way too expensive.

We booked a delux room with sea view for 5 nights. The view from our balcony was fantastic, after the upgrade. Breakfast was good. The bar tender is awesome, she was very attentive. The 2 women's receptionist were very helpful and very informative.

Our first night room. We've arrived at 10:00 pm, the night shift receptionist gave us a small room with balcony facing the parking lot. The room had musty/mouldy smells coming from the washroom. We told the receptionist that he gave us the wrong accommodation. He said he couldn't transfer us to a better room because it was fully booked for the night 🙄 this is definitely not acceptable for what we have paid for in advance.

Stuff was really kind and amazing willing to help any time regarding any questions, from the manager to the other employees on reception and restaurant, we really had amazing time in peace and nice environment. The view is breathtaking and worth every money you paid. Breakfast is very good with really big variety and changing during the days so one of the best so far I have had opportunity to try. Overall great experience and service and we are very satisfied and grateful for everything. All the recommendations. Property is big and have a enough parking space for everyone.

WiFi in the hotel and mobile internet on a whole island could be better

Great location overlooking the town & port. Bonus of having a free shuttle service to the airport and town. Welcoming and friendly reception staff. Breakfast buffet more than adequate with a good selection of hot and cold dishes.

Whilst we had a very enjoyable stay there were minor irrations coming back to your breakfast table after going to get something from the buffet then finding your cutlery and plates have been cleared .I can only think the restuarant manager pacing up and down with his clipboard seeing this as efficient running .As a guest I see this unnecessary hovering as not very relaxing experience. Perhaps more attention should be given to the fruit juice dispenser & the coffee machine working correctly ! No available pool towels in the morning(until 2.30pm)
