A lovely location outside Akureyri (12 minutes or so) set on the side of the fjord with great views of the surrounding mountains and good for northern lights if they are kind enough to show. Our bedrooms were in a separate building to the main building, were clean and comfortable with comfy beds and good showers. Breakfast was plentiful and with a good variety of things to choose from. There is a nice lounge area and a great walk down to the water’s edge. The staff couldn’t have been kinder, helping us out when one of our group was not well.
There was on tap tea and coffee, which was great, but it is located in the main building which is a bit of a pain for your early morning cuppa or if the weather is foul. A kettle and tea/coffee making facilities in those rooms would really help.

We did the ring road and stayed at other guesthouses/hotels. This was one of our favorites. Property is beautiful on the fjord - they encourage you to walk the property, rooms are quaint but clean and updated, bed was great.. The buffet dinner was our favorite due to dietary needs being accommodated since we let them know 24 hrs in advance. Food was wonderful (seafood soup was the the best!) and we felt so taken care of!! Offering Free coffee and organic teas all day was also nice. Hot tubs and a Game room with pool table we’re also great.
There was construction when we got there so finding reception was tricky.

Really enjoyed our two nights at this hotel, to visit Akureyri and the nearby area. It is outside of town, but wonderfully situated to help one avoid the pay tunnel out of Akureyri (we avoided it three times by driving north and then east from the hotel to explore the area). The proprietors are rightfully proud - they have designed it as a holiday retreat! Pool, darts, exercise machine, sauna, hot tub, mini golf and frisbee golf, and paths to stroll on the grounds. Breakfast was varied and lovely - all the cold offerings one could hope for! Our view was out over the fjord and was gorgeous! We recommend this hotel with no hesitation!
Alert - the TV receives but one channel and it's the Icelandic national broadcaster. If this matters to you, we recommend you have another means of evening entertainment - we had a tablet on which we could watch some news and Olympics highlights from home. Not a large enough complaint that would ward me off recommending this accommodation whole-heartedly, but something good to know before you go!

Loved the location, the room, the breakfast and the staff behaviour. The northern lights viewing point, the hot tub, the sauna, the snooker table and the dart board were amazing value add-ons. They had coffee/tea/hot cocoa through the day at their restaurant, and a kitchenette to microwave meals. Highly recommended stay option near Akureyri. Special shoutout to Karl for his warm welcome and hospitality throughout our three night stay.
The lack of food options at the restaurant during winters. They only served breakfast. Some limited hot meal options would've been good to have considering that the nearest restaurant/grocery store is about 9km (10min.) drive away. Not too bad, but tourists might find it difficult to access the closest food options, specially in the evenings, without their own/rental vehicle.

Nestled 8-10 km away from Akureyri, Iceland's bustling second city, Hotel Natur offers a tranquil haven amidst Iceland's awe-inspiring landscapes. This charming hotel is more than just a place to rest your head it's an invitation to immerse yourself in comfort and natural beauty. Step inside, and you'll discover a meticulously maintained retreat, where every corner exudes warmth and relaxation. Karl's genuine hospitality shines through, ensuring prompt responses and invaluable guidance throughout your stay. The accommodations at Hotel Natur are a testament to its commitment to guest comfort. Impeccably clean and spaciously appointed, each room offers a sanctuary to unwind after a day of exploration. But the true gems of this establishment lie in its amenities – a sauna, steam room, and natural hot water pool beckon weary travelers to rejuvenate body and soul. For those seeking panoramic views, the hotel's watching tower is a must-visit. With its 360-degree vista of snow-capped mountains and serene surroundings, it's a picture-perfect spot to soak in Iceland's natural splendor. While my visit coincided with rainy weather, preventing a glimpse of the elusive Northern Lights, Hotel Natur remains an ideal base for aurora seekers. Its proximity to Akureyri and thoughtful comforts make it a prime choice for those yearning for both adventure and relaxation. Most importantly about breakfast we had a delightful spread, ensuring a delicious start to your day.

Excellent location (about 10 minutes drive from Akureyri) in a very scenic place with fabulous views of mountains and the sea. You can walk right down to the beach. The on-site restaurant serves good breakfast and buffet dinner. Staff are very kind and helpful, and made our stay there truly enjoyable. There is a hot tub, pool table and dart game.
Nothing to not like. Everything was just perfect !

We reserved a room for three people (1 person + 1 couple). When we arrived, we were offered 2 rooms free of extra charge. It was great to have an extra bathroom and more space after such a long trip. The breakfast was very good, and the staff was very accommodating to my requests of dairy free milk 😄 Although I didn't have much time to check the surrounding area, it looked like a great place to take nature walks. You can see a very nice view from the top of the remodeled Silo. There's also some other amenities: sauna, massage chair, hot tub, recreational area (pool table and darts).
The room and bathroom were a bit dark due to the dark decoration characteristic of the hotel. The view from the room on the side of the fjord is beautiful, but the room on the other side of the building has a view straight into the parking lot. The room has clear windows and dark curtains.

We absolutely loved our stay! Karl and Hannah are so sweet and were so kind and attentive to us. It felt like we were staying with a host family which was so great! The facilities are amazing and the location is stunning. It's only a 10-15 minute drive to the main part of Akureyri, and there are hiking trails, Forest Lagoon, and other cool things right around the hotel. We loved our stay and felt so welcome and cared for!

The location was excellent—quiet and peaceful, yet conveniently close to Akureyri. The hotel was clean, and the rooms had been recently renovated. Additionally, I accidentally booked for the wrong date (a day earlier), but the owner was very understanding and accommodating, allowing us to change the reservation to the correct day on the same day we arrived.

Lovely place with lovely staff. The area and facilities were great. We specifically chose the hotel because of the spa, sauna and relaxation area. Breakfast was good, everything you would expect. We were in a separate building away from the main house. The room was small, no problem, but instead of a double bed we had two single mattresses together. They were quite hard. Otherwise everything was perfect. Would come again and ask for a room in the main buidling.
Small room, beds not as expected.
