I loved the entire experience of this hotel - which began from the moment I booked. The owners immediately sent an email with a welcome, options, and add-ons for my experience. The made everything from pick-up and drop-off, to meals, to scheduling at the blue lagoon so easy. I really appreciated it because it was a last minute business trip through a country I'm not familiar with so their graciousness and hospitality was a treat. There were also lots of little touches that made the place so sweet (I won't mention them here - check out the place for yourself). But one kindness that stayed with me is that I arrived on a cold, rainy evening in late May and Andi, one of the owners, drove me into town so that I could grab dinner before bed without fighting the weather.

Our stay at 1x6 was simply wonderful-FILLED and wonderFULL!! Everything exceeded our expectations. From the level of service we received by Andi (and Yuki), to the unique, one-of-a-kind design of the property, to the five star flavors of the coffee, cookies, chocolates and breakfast—this place was a celebration for the senses!! If you are traveling into Keflavík, do not miss staying at night here. Not only will you not regret it, you’ll be planning your next trip there before you depart. An eclectic and comfortable place with a terrific owner (Andy). We had a 22 hour layover and because of Andy, we had a great time and made the most of it. After 8-9 hours of driving/sightseeing, it was a true delight to roll in here. He was full of smiles, energy, and good ideas (from his nearby fish and chip recommendation to checking/dropping our bags with Icelandic Air the night before). Super location just 6 to 8 minutes from the airport. Another bonus was the property’s very natural steam bath-hot pools 20 steps from our door (just my gal pal and I soaking and looking up at the Icelandic night skies… pretty cool).

First time in many years that we had a shared bathroom, but it worked out just fine. We knew about it before hand and the place was very well priced.

Loved the location, the size of the room was impressive. The comfort and cleanliness of the bed and bedroom was amazing. Bathrobes provided and use of the thermal pool was an added bonus. We had the privilege of being offered the opportunity to get a lift to the airport which made it so easy. The breakfast was very unique and thoughtful covering all tastebuds and providing fresh produce. Overall this place is magical with two caring hosts who did everything to give us an amazing last night experience of Iceland .

Andi and Yuki are truly the epitome of exceptional, welcoming hosts. When reading the reviews prior to booking it all seemed too good to be true. The minute Andi picked us up from the airport, however, we understood exactly what everyone meant. We only got to stay one night at 1x6, but in that night we got to connect with people all over the world, and made some new friends from Oregon. The added homemade breakfast as great, and they were ready to help with anything we needed. For our next trip to Iceland, we’ll for sure be back!

Andi is my new favourite Swiss. Both he & Yuki were very friendly & better welcome to Iceland I could not imagine. They offer airport pick up if required & provided us with some great tips for our travel. The Guesthouse has everything you would need & some cool & funky interior & exterior decorating. Loved the hot garden pool & the fantastic coffee upstairs. Keflavik restaurants & eats are a 5 min walk. Would absolutely recommend staying with Andi & Yuki at Guesthouse 1 x 6 Thanks guys Iain & Jacqui

There's no way not to give a 10 to this amazing couple with this super comfortable and beautiful hostel, this couple's reception really made our adventure in Iceland even more sensational, even with a late check in they made a point of welcoming us with delicious chocolate hot tub and incredible chocolate made by them, not to mention that they allowed us to have the incredible feeling of being able to use the hot tub in this paradise, if you're lucky like us you can see the northern lights from your backyard or even from incredible spots nearby like a lighthouse. super comfortable bed and everything super clean. We were just sad that we only stayed one night, not to mention the location, which is next to the airport. just perfect, we will definitely come back to stay more days. Thank you to this amazing couple.

Everything!! Andy and Yuki are awesome hosts, extremely carefull about your stay, giving interests, tips and more to your planned trip in Iceland! The location is extremely convenient, the place is gorgeous, clean, well provided with evertything in the room. The breakfast is done with absolute care, and therefore worthy! They also have the ability to drive you to and from the Airport. A big congratulations for being such a wonderfull and dedicated host!!

Not to have stayed much longer...

Andi & Yuki have made an oasis of artful, delightful coziness. From the hot pool just for guests, to their organic, DELICIOUS breakfasts (Yuki’s homemade bread & pie are heavenly), to Yuki’s handmade oragami cranes on the bed, to their warmth, wit, and creativity… I came back to Iceland largely to be in their guesthouse again! Plus, just 5 minute drive from the airport even though it’s quiet and right by the water. Highly recommend!

I loved everything.

The location was great, because it was very close to the airport. It was our last night and we had an early flight, so it was very convenient to get there fast early in the morning. The owners Yuki and Andi were super great! The communication was great from beginning and they also greeted us personally. Prepared small gifts for us, it all felt very special and personal. The hot pool in the garden is priceless! And we got the bath robes also to get there in warmth. It was all so amazing finish to our magical trip in Iceland. Thanks a lot!!
