The dorm was rather large and very clean. Bed, table, locker — nothing fancy, but quite good for a night. The bed is comfortable. The kitchen and recreation rooms are also large and well equipped, reception was helpful getting me a taxi. Breakfast is served starting very early and has more options than I expected at this price.

While "Start Keflavik Airport" is just beside the airport as seen on the map, it is still a 10-minute drive or ISK 5000 taxi ride (or 7km walk). Public transport is very scarce and non-existent on Sundays.

My room included a nice bathroom. The bed was super comfortable and the comforter and sheets were a great quality. The breakfast was very extensive in terms of choices of things that I like like several types of mucusly and granola along with nuts seeds and fruit to add to it. It starts at 4 am so you can catch early flights. I actually spoke with the couple that owns the accommodation to learn more about the history of the area, as it was an old US airforce base that Donald Rumsfeld dumped on Iceland with no warning. Fascinating.

Very clean, spacious, only four beds to a large dorm room, not bunk beds. Towel and flannel provided. Very comfy clean beds and linen. Large ‘wet room’ style showerooms. Staff all very helpful and friendly. They organised a shared taxi to airport to reduce cost. Great breakfast was included, cereals, fruits, pastries etc, even at 04:00!

Only that it is still a few kilometres from the actual Airport and needs a taxi early in morning (4500kr), but accommodation at the actual airport is limited to just one hotel I think.

Was over 3 1/2 hours late (at night) and the desk fella was so nice and helpful. Day desk staff was excellent as well and didn't mind my talking her ear off! Food was great, couldn't resist a couple of the sweets like I should, but it was worth it, delicious. Not a speck of dirt or dust anywhere, bed comfortable, and the sewing machine is fantastic! Wish my home was this nice.

That I had to leave for home. OK, next time order sunshine..... ; } Really I have no issues at all, it was fantastic. Perhaps put a sign about the history of the sewing machine. I have one but not as old and not in the beautiful shape yours is, would love to know the story.

Very clean , comfortable bed and good shower . Breakfast was tasty good selection, staff are very friendly thanks for Szymon and the lady Ioana or Irina ( sorry not sure) . They have shared kitchen lot of equipment, pizza oven ( you can buy pizza and bake yourself) there is beer ,pot noodles , crisps and many more . Breakfast is 4am to 9am but hot beverages all available all day ( tea , coffee , hot chocolate…) breakfast have juices , bread , cheese , salami , egg , bread spreads , fruits , etc . You can book a taxi for available every 30min for 2250 local money per person they book for you just let them know in advance. If you choose to take buss is number 55 but it’s coming quiet rear specially Sunday it’s only from 12pm so better book taxi with them . Highly recommended this place very cozy clean and friendly!

I can’t find anything what not to like

Stayed only one night before a super early flight so I wanted to be closer from the airport. The lady at the reception was incredibly friendly, I booked a bed in a 4 bed female dorm and ended up alone in the room! Beds and bedding were comfortable, towels are provided and bathrooms are clean. I really liked that the bathrooms are common areas but fully locked so it feels private. Breakfast starts at 4am which is amazing, it was basic but plenty for an early breakfast 😊 Will definitely stay here again!

It's a standard hostel. Our room was quite spacious with comfortable beds, clean sheets and towels. A quite decent breakfast was provided which was available from 4am. This worked well for me as I had a 6am flight and this was the reason we chose a hostel close to the airport.

The hostel is close to the airport, which works if you have an early departure or late arrival, but otherwise the location is not that great if you are going to Reykjavik or even to Keflavik.

We booked this hotel for our last night in Iceland. As our flight was leaving around 10 am and we had to drop the rental car at 7 we had chosen this hotel quite close to the airport. It turned out that it was just around the corner from our car rental company, Icerental 4x4. A lucky coincidence! The hotel is not really cozy, but had everything we needed. Our room was really big and were able to pack easily, with all the luggage spread out on the extra sofa. One big plus is the self service breakfast which is available from 4 am (!). Another big plus is the location: As the hotel is situated in a seemingly industrial area, it was totally quiet during the night. (Friends who stayed directly in Reykjanesbær didn't get any sleep, because it was so loud around their hotel.) All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel for a first or last night in Iceland.

Staff helpful & friendly. Clean & tidy & bedroom nicely decorated. Great having a well equipped communal kitchen to make lunch or evening meal. Communal lounge area with TV also good. Very good buffet breakfast which is also available for early flights. Restaurant & mini market easy walk away. Staff kindly booked taxi for me to airport. A nice place to stay.

A bit far to walk to Keflavik town about 1 hour 10 (which I did) as I wanted to see the town. There may be a bus that goes there. (There's a supermarket closer, 48 mins walk away in another town). Taxi to airport expensive for me K4500 & it's only a 8-10 minute journey. I was in a 4 bed dorm so people coming & going early or late, but to be expected as near the airport.

When I read that it was a hostel, I was scared that my wife and son would be sharing a room with strangers. Had this been the case, I would have preferred to stay in the airport for the night, but my wife insisted. Fortunately, I was wrong. We had a private room with a private bathroom(I understand that some of the rooms share a bathroom). It was perfect. I felt that the environment was both safe and private. The rooms were very clean and it was just a very nice place stay in-between flights. The free breakfast was also a rather good addition since understand not all the hotels have such an option.

Like everything in Iceland, you can expect to pay more. This place was relatively cheap, but you're still paying more than you would in Croatia or Ukraine (where I lived previously). Can't blame Start for that, but it's worth mentioning.
