Excellent location, fantastic rooms & very courteous staff members.

I paid for breakfast but consiously decided not have it after continuous bad experience. Excluding couple of senior staffs, the guest service in the buffet area was very unprofessional. This was the same when I stayed with them in April - May'24 as well. The F&B manager did come to my room and listened to my concerns, he promised it will be a better experience but given I don't want to start my day with bad experience, I avoided having breakfast for the last 3 days of my stay though I paid for it.. I will definitely stay again with them given the overall great experience but hope I will have a better experience with the breakfast buffet staff service since the food is good.

Just checked out but had such a pleasant stay that a review asap was must. Manish at the front desk was amazing! Super helpful, polite, and genuinely just a nice person. He made the stay warm and also helped with late check out. Brinda as well, truly amazing! From the time of booking until we got there she was responsive, ready to help and made sure everything was ready prior toniur arrival.

The food. Only because we have different taste buds which probably is different from how food is in Chennai. Nandita on reception was a bit rude. But others made up for it.

its was chola Sheraton in the past - on the the prestigious property in Chennai during 90's & 2ks . i wish stay here for decades , recently my wish come true , i booked superior room , my check in was quite late ( nearly mid night ) , i not so comfortable with the room , the next morning i informed the front desk - i got free upgrade to club room - wow this is the room i want - separate living room so spacious - only the washroom ( Toilet & shower ) is old fashioned , I had my best breakfast in any five star hotel in Chennai - Mr Siva floor supervisor was outstanding Mr Kenith in the coffee shop look after me very well & the entire front desk team are simply super in Jan 2025 i stayed in ITC GRAND CHOLA i feel more comfortable then grand chola in this property the property is small but its very pleasant atmosphere to stay here , the entire team so friendly & very helpful big thanks to the entire team , wish to see you soon in near future

All were so humble and were pouring the services from heart to keep us happy . We have been staying in all 5 star but let me tell you one must learn from this hotel what is hospitality. Breakfast was really nice with real good support of delicious food and great ambiance and good services from all . club room were really large and very good pin drop sleep we had . It is the right hotel to stay. Hospitality in F and B by shanker was simply great. Shopping is also all near by .Everything was perfectly taken care. Even butter was covered with Transparent butter paper and even starters were define with VEG paper below the stuff . very good crokery.

We recently stayed at this hotel in Chennai, and our overall experience was quite pleasant with a few highs and lows. The room was simply superb — we originally booked a Superior Room but were pleasantly surprised when the hotel upgraded us to a Junior Suite at no extra cost. This gesture definitely elevated our stay and gave us a great room experience. The hotel staff were trendy and professional, but unfortunately, we didn’t feel properly welcomed on arrival. The front desk seemed too caught up in their work to give us the warm hospitality you’d expect from a 5-star property. Despite being located in a busy part of Chennai, stepping into the hotel felt like entering a completely different atmosphere — calm, elegant, and peaceful. We had opted for both breakfast and dinner buffet. The breakfast buffet was quite good, offering a decent spread. However, the dinner buffet was disappointing — the taste and variety did not live up to a 5-star standard and definitely needs improvement. A special mention goes to the swimming pool — it was fantastic, very relaxing, and had thoughtful features that made it a highlight of our stay. To sum it up: the room and overall hotel services were excellent, especially the complimentary upgrade and pool experience. The welcome experience and food quality, particularly dinner, were the downsides. With better attention to hospitality and culinary refinement, this hotel could truly deliver a top-tier experience.

The staff - look out for Merly at the front dest, she is a joy to liaise with and have done so for every trip. Housekeeping Director- Mr. Balachandran, always a pleasure to deal with. The only place I stay at when in Chennai- great location and it's always the staff that brings me back because for me personally that is the 1st criteria for my stay - the people and for that Welcomhotel's staff never disappoints.

Nothing actually- FYI, Welcomhotel had gone through a rather extensive makeover so just know the prices are up as well- but it's worth it. Also the club room for the smoking floor (5th floor)- due to the structure the club room I had felt smaller without the dining table and chairs because of the large pillars in the room, but the Hotel- Merly gave an upgrade 😀

I was particularly impressed by the exceptional kindness and dedication of the hotel staff. Front Desk Manager Brinda went above and beyond to assist me in a challenging situation. She tirelessly tracked down my lost wallet, effectively communicating with the Uber driver in the local language, ensuring its safe return. Her compassion and problem-solving skills were truly commendable. The culinary experience at the hotel was equally delightful. Chef Kethe prepared delectable meals that satisfied my palate and fueled me for the day ahead. The hotel's General Manager, Ila, also extended warm hospitality, making me feel like a valued guest. The hotel's prime location is an added advantage, especially for those visiting the US Consulate. Its walkable distance to the consulate makes it incredibly convenient for visa appointments and other official business. Overall, my stay at Welcome Hotels by ITC Cathedral Road was a truly heartwarming experience. The hotel's luxurious accommodations, excellent service, and the genuine care of its staff made it a memorable visit. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Chennai, particularly those with business at the US Consulate.

We stayed here for 3 weeks, the location is perfect ,rooms were clean and comfortable, breakfast was nice,the food at the chinese restaurant was very good, the staffs at the hotel were exceptional especially mrs Brinda the manager, she is the pillar of this hotel....she did all her best to make our stay pleasant and memorable,all the staff's were good, to name a few mr Keith at the restaurant and Ms Mami at the spa were too good, we will come again definitely....next year. We were fully satisfied with our stay.....nothing to complain.

We booked this hotel for our 2 nights stay in Chennai. We are very happy with everything. The service, the food quality, cleanliness etc. The breakfast spread was amazing. It had everything from idli and pongal to a wide-ranging platter of desserts. The location is perfect. Located on the Cathedral Road and at a distance of 3 kms from the Marina Beach, the hotel is not on the hustling streets, but it is a sweet spot from where public transport to every corner of Chennai was conveniently available. Their cafe serves very good sandwich and coffee and the best thing is the Durrant's Bar. Our bartender Manoj served amazing cocktails during the entire stay in the hotel
