Everyone at the resort did their best to make our stay as great as possible. The rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. The food was delicious and we missed nothing. I highly recommend going bird watching and the hike with the local ranger. Don’t miss the yoga class in the afternoon. If you want, you also get help in coordinating your visits in the area, such as: - getting the perfect driver ( car or rikscha) - visiting a tea factory, a clothing or paper manufacturer and - stroll through a tea garden. I am a frequent traveler in India. The Windermere Estate became one of my top 10 locations to stay.

Everything about this place is wonderful. It's high in the hills, surrounded by tea and cardamom plantations. There is birdsong everywhere and the resident naturalist Medha took us on superb nature and birdwatching walks. She was super - knowledgeable and lovely. Jacob looked after us extremely well, and supported us through my husband's unexpected admission to hospital in Munnar. We couldn't have navigated it all without him and we'll be forever grateful. The pool, the food, all the staff and the surroundings make this a little piece of heaven. We will return.

The rooms I think could do with a touch up - they are a little dated and miss some key things (soft towels, more hangers, better products in bathrooms) which is what you’d expect for what you pay for the rooms. The work is very bad in the rooms. You can only really use the internet in reception or eating area.

Magical place in a breathtaking location. Really welcoming and helpful staff who seemed to love their jobs. The room was beautiful, felt a little like stepping back in time with lots of period features. Great commitment to not having unnecessary plastic etc as well. Would really love to come back.

The car journey up the hills to reach this place is one to pack your travel-sickness medication for, but the incredible views are worth the effort.

Truly amazing location in the middle of Munnar hills, surrounded by tea and cardamom plantation, while still being only 10 minute drive from Munnar town. Nature walks are possible with very knowledgeable guide Ansil, at no extra charge. The meals are a set menu every evening but we loved being surprised by the chef, and the food was excellent. It's a nice change from having to pick from a menu and it means there is almost no wait time between dishes. The staff is very kind and go out of their way to help, allowing for a later check-in, lending umbrellas, etc., we loved our stay!

Very little to say, except that there is no TV in the rooms (there is a common room with a TV though), so if that's important for you, you need to consider that.

The estate is located at an ideal distance away from the bustling Munnar town. It is far enough for one to enjoy the tranquility yet near enough to easily get into the town if necesary. I could dropped my luggage at the reception while I went for a hike in the morning before I checked in. Service was attentive, warm and friendly. The estate kindly upgraded my 1st floor garden room to the 2nd floor spacious estate room with a view over the tea plantation. Love the hot tea and snack served in the evening especially during a cold rainy day. The door mat outside my room seemed to be a favourite spot of the estate friendly dog. She was always lying there quietly when I open my door and followed the group around during the plantation walk. The guided walk around the cardamom and peper plantation owned by the estate was educational. Our guide was looking out to see if the elderly in the group had difficulties following and made adjustment along the way. The dinner decided by the chef was wonderful especially the fried lamb. Although the sky was overcasted with slight drizzle in the day with heavy downpour in the night, Windermere estate is the perfect place to be stranded in such weather after some tiring Munnar explorations. The thoughtful staff also insisted we took the large umbrella to our rooms which turned out to be useful as the rain resumed during dinner time.

We enjoyed the activities offered by the hotel and particularly appreciated the tour with Ansel who showed us the local fauna and flora. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful! Overall the grounds were beautiful and the food was freshly made a delicious! Clean and cozy rooms too with great views on the surrounding hills.

No beers available at the restaurant but we've learned that Kerala hotels are mostly dry.

The most perfect stay at a truly unique, charming, authentic estate. Not just a stay but lots of activities included, home in the plantation, morning bird watching and tea tasting sessions. Truly the best South Indian cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the chef was amazing and every meal comes to speak with you. The staff were wonderful. Cannot recommend Windermere enough.

It was very cold and the rooms have no heating! Although in the room description it said they would have a minibar to store my medication but we were told they are only in Estate rooms Luckily we asked for a heater.

10 out of 10. I chose this hotel becuz of many good review. But it was worth it. We stayed 2nights. Staff's hospitality was awesome. All hotel staff are nice and ready to help us always. Specailly, Chef jesu, photographer Akashi, and general manager! thank you so much. I wanna come back to munnar, Becuz of this hotel! I didn't know this hotel have many programme. We enjoyed cardamom trekking. And everyday, there is tea time so enjoyed chai and coffee! It was my best memory ! thank you so much . i love this hotel so much
