We've been at Shalom Backpackers in April 2025. The room was large, bright and clean. We loved the handmade decorations on walls and ceiling. On the top floor of the hotel there is a bar with various terraces, one more beautiful than the other. We could both have dinner and breakfast, and we ate very well. The last terrace is beautiful, with a breathtaking view of the lake. I think it’s worth staying at Shalom Backpackers just for the terraces!

We had booked the room with balcony, but in reality we did not have the view of the lake as in photo. We could see the lake only from the terraces, but I think it was worth it anyway.

I ended up in a superior room so it barely felt like I was staying in a hostel. The rooftop, common areas, service, food and everything else were pretty top notch. The staff are very friendly and were ready to assist with anything to make my nearly week stay in Udaipur the best it could be. Being only the third hostel I've ever stayed in (the other two also in Raj), I was pleasantly surprised. I had many preconceived notions about hostels that didn't come to fruition. It's been a great way to save money and make friends while on an extended trip throughout India. Sitting on the rooftop was a magical experience every night with all the city sounds and the beautiful sunset. Grab a blanket and get cozy.

A few room issues but the staff quickly resolved them.

It was a great stay. The property is clean and hygienic. The rooms are comfortable and clean with view of pichola lake. There was live music and it was super good which added to the vibe of this place. The people managing this property are really good and friendly especially Nikhlesh, Lucky and Ayush. They treated us like their own friends. Also, the property is located at a very accessible location from where most of the tourist attractions and railway station are nearby. Totally recommended if you're visiting with your friends or solo

Lovely big spacious room with lots of character (delux double with balcony). Great location for everything in Udaipur. Great little cafe/restaurant just across the footbridge called Jasmine. Owner is lovely and food is good.

Room was not the one shown on the pictures. There are 2 balcony rooms and ours was on the side with a very limited view of the lake. When we first arrived we tried to order food and drinks thru QR code on top floor restaurant but this did not appear to be working and there was no staff around.

It was our first trip to udaipur and we must share that the staff was so helpful. Especially Yashbhai and Sambhai went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great stay. Which eventually exceed our expectations. Rooms were clean and hygienic. Interior was pleasant Especially Rooftop area. You will have an amazing Lake view. If you are looking for affordable dorms or rooms , you must visit SHALOM BACKPACKERS, UDAIPUR.

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Shalom! The place is absolutely Instagrammable with beautiful spots everywhere. It's conveniently located near all the major attractions, and the market is right outside, making it super accessible. The view from the rooftop is totally worth the price — we got to enjoy a stunning lake view and a mesmerizing sunset. The staff was also incredibly friendly, fun, and caring. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great stay

The staff’s kindness blew me away, Spotless dorm rooms, reliably hot showers, and a rooftop deck offering dreamy golden-hour views sealed the deal. Already planning my next stay—this place is magic!

I have stayed here for 3 days., I really like Spaces place in the room, very clean bathrooms & big space to keep your luggage. and Special Thanks to Ms. Priyali who is always happy with smile to help the guests.

At times A/c didn't work at night

The property was awesome with great view and the rooftop cafe food here is just too good ! Its located nearest to most of the tourist attractions spots. The vibe and ambience is good.
