We loved our stay at Villa Melanting, the location is superb in the village, tucked in next to a forest and among a quiet community. We felt the energy of the complex very grounding, we truly enjoyed our stay. The room of the villa itself is a bit pokey for a family of 3, however it has served well its purpose. There is a kitchen with basic items and utensils adjoint the room. It is within a walking distance to Dusun Tenganan (Tenganan Traditional Village) where we learned some background history from its original residents. The hosts were beautiful caring couple Pak Ketut and Bu Mira, who respected our space but always within reach if we ever needed anything as they live nearby. We enjoyed the little private pool that was very refreshing after a day outing! We will come back here again for sure!!

The concrete paved ground outside of the villa is very slippery from the moss. A few times we almost slipped off and fell. Perhaps regular brushing is needed to prevent accidents or falls, especially if the patrons are children and elderly.

We absolutely loved our stay! The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful — it truly felt like staying with family. While the location is quite remote, everything was thoughtfully arranged. The hosts provided all the information we needed: where to eat, what to see nearby, bike rentals, and even trusted taxi contacts. They also offered free transfers to local restaurants for dinner — how amazing is that? The Wi-Fi was strong enough for remote work and video calls. There were several breakfast options to choose from, and it was brought right to the villa at the agreed-upon time — such a lovely start to the day. The villa itself sits on the edge of the jungle, complete with a small private pool. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, and essentials like tea, coffee, sugar, and drinking water were all provided. It was a truly wonderful and memorable stay.

The villa is a real piece of paradise away from the tourist area. The villa has everything you need and the bed was comfy. The pool was great to cool off in and the kitchen was fully equipped for a short or long stay. Breakfast was amazing and my Indonesian husband said the Nasi goreng was one of the best he’s had. Ketut is extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely be back.

I was lucky to find this place. Initially, I thought of staying here for a couple of nights, but ended up staying for a couple of months. The owner is a very attentive and kind person. He helped with all the questions, introduced me to friends who live in the neighborhood, they treated me to chicken soup and local palm wine. Ketut also took me to a local ceremony associated with the Galungan and Kuningan holidays, the temple is very close to the villa, and to immerse yourself in the atmosphere, you just had to walk a little to the road. This is the first place in my 4 month stay in Bali where I felt so good. The villa is located in a very beautiful area of Chandi Dasa, wherever you are going to go from the villa, it will be beautiful everywhere. Rice fields, mountains, and beaches that can be found very close to the Villa. The villa itself has a pool, own kitchen, shower, toilet and is located in a very quiet area. You will meet other tourists here very rarely, which I like. You can book the option with breakfast included, the breakfasts are very large and tasty, so I recommend this option. I am very grateful to the owner Ketut for such hospitality, this is the coolest place on the island! Even when my booking was coming to an end, Ketut helped me with finding accommodation in the area, which is very nice.

The villa was amazing value and Ketut was the kindest most welcoming host. The village was beautiful and so untouched. If you want to see the real bali come here.

Whilst the location was beautiful, getting around qaa difficult with the lack of online taxis and expensive local taxis. We did rent a Moped for a couple of days for very cheap price

Peaceful village atmosphere: roosters, other birds and the occasional quiet motorcycle the main sounds. After 2 nights here I'm much more relaxed. Private: secure compound. Great breakfast. Lunch and dinner provided by local chef (7 years at Lezat restaurant at Ashyana Resort Candi Dasa until covid). I tried chicken w. Balinese spices (medium hot) and Gado Gado, and Chicken Satay - all excellent, great price. Host Ketut very friendly, good English, good stories.

Fridge and pool fountain sounds. No, seriously they are fine, but in such a peaceful place you notice them. Ketut let me turn them off :D Oh and the tv is a bit smaller than in the photos, but I didn't need it anyway :)

phenomenal stay. the most beautiful gardens, surroundings and pool. the villa is so comfortable with everything you need: a fully equipped kitchen, drinking water, towels. The host is exceptional. Ketut provides all the contacts and recommendations for food, motorbikes, things to see and do. He was so welcoming and ensure all was perfect. A yummy and filling breakfast every morning was such a treat too!

I was there for an unplaned trip. Book the villa for the good review. Even tough the property's location is not exactly as shown in mapa, but the owner was easy to contact. It's only +-200m from the traditional village. So yah, I can say the location is great. And it has water dispenser, small kitchen. So you can refill your water and cook some simple food too.

Since I booked it D-1 of Galungan and it was at 4pm, so the owner dont really have time to clean the pool. Actually I cant complain about it. And the kitchen abit dirty. But overall everything was great

They are so lovely hosts! The villa is wonderful, I loved to have some privacy and a private pool! It’s like heaven. Ketut was so nice because he helped me to order some food ( no restaurant in town) and he helped me to fix my scooter that wasn’t working anymore!! The bedroom is beautiful, comfy bed, quiet, warm water, free water fountain… There is a Zumba class every friday and monday at 5pm on the big parking lot of the village in case you want to join! I recommend 200%!!
