The location is known when you book so whilst not in the hot spot of shops it isn't far away so no surprises. Bit tricky with no parking available when there are deliveries / taxis so putting in the address for the side access helps that issue. The owner/staff were very accommodating with my room, being ground floor with just a couple of low steps plus my late check out for the evening flight. Great to use the little kitchen in the morning to make my coffee. Although I had my own coffee from Oz, there was coffee and sugar there to use if needed. Also a big container of water for boiling for hot drinks. Payment was very easy and I chose to pay part cash and part card as it was the end of my trip so I could use up the rest of my cash.

My only issue which is a personal one was that I was unable to use the pool as the first step down is too steep for me to safely get in or out given some mobility issues, other wise the pool looked splendid.

Great location to walk to beach and owner has bikes available to use. Its not perfect, but for the price it was perfect. Owners live across street and oversee building operations daily. I hired their son as a sightseeing driver for the day and he also drove me to the airport. Lovely family.

The site has one larger beautifully appointed room on the second floor with a balcony (see pictures). For ME, and my bad knee I decided to pass on the stairs as they were a bit steep. I believe they have 4 or 5 ground floor units around the courtyard which is where I end up staying for 5 days. Much smaller footprint but perfect for on or two people.

Helpful staff members who easily answered my questions about the location of facilities and services. Staff were always readily available on location to answer my questions that enabled me to access what I wanted. e.g., a tailor service, laundry, restaurants, places of interest to see in the neighbourhood. Niken and Nitik were always willing to provide information, advice and assistance, and did so easily, throughout the duration of my stay. I was very grateful I was given the upstairs room for the final two night of my stay. This was done generously at no extra charge to myself.

All was fine. Nothing bothered me about the Sunhouse Guesthouse over the five nights I stayed there. I am a comfortable Westerner on holiday in a country where people cannot afford to go on an overseas holiday of the type I enjoyed in Sanur and Bali last week. Therefore, I do not have sound, justifiable or reasonable grounds for complaint. However, one male was talking loudly for almost five minutes in the kitchen area one morning at four o'clock. Access into the property was unlocked and very easy, and is therefore a potential danger to visitors.

Convenient location, just 10 minutes walk from the beach. Small courtyard with pool. Bikes available for guest use. Rooms on the small side but have everything you need, drinking water is provided from big dispenser in little kitchen. Staff were lovely.

Extremely steep stairs to the ‘superior’ upstairs room. I booked this room initially for the extra space but felt it was too dangerous to stay in as the stairs were terrifying to go up and down. Thankfully the manager was able to move me to one of the smaller rooms on ground floor around the courtyard. Bikes are available for guests but this was not mentioned until the day I was leaving. When I booked this accommodation it said breakfast was available, it’s not. But there are plenty of good places a short walk away.

I arrived early and there was no question to allowing me onto the property. The room was large, queen size bed, with separate shower and toilet. Sufficient eateries around the property of great quality and reasonably priced. The staff were super friendly and helpful and at my departure went out of their way to assist me with getting a driver and appraising me of the costs to the airport. The property felt very safe and secure.

Too much rain lol, fortunately the property had an assortment of umbrellas to use. The sheets were great, personally I prefer a fluffier pillow.

Sanur is still my preferred place to stay in Bali, so lovely underrated : with an accessible beach, close to any attractions but very calm and peaceful. Sunhouse is embodying the spirit of Sanur simple and underrated but with everything I need to enjoy my holiday in Bali.

I have been here long time ago and while I appreciate that everything is almost still the same , I noticed that the wall fountain is not working anymore and the kitchen is clean, but is lacking the tools to prepare a basic meal. Last but not least a microwave would be very useful.

My partner was quite unwell on day 2 of our stay, we asked the owner for directions to a medical clinic, he then drove us there and waited till all was finished and then drove us back to Sunhouse. The 2 ladies who lived on site took care of everything and couldn’t be more pleasant or helpful, and were available 24/7. A lovely communal courtyard by the pool. A well stocked and clean communal kitchen. If anything was lacking in our room ( eg power board or extra pillows) it was provided on request

Initially we started in the one and only upstairs room. It’s on a busy road and therefor noisy ( the solid high fence protect the lower rooms from the noise) on request we were moved downstairs the next day.

The staff is really kind. Although we arrived at 2am, the lady in charge stayed awake to let us in. When we let our wet clothes (from swimming) dry on the outside rack, the lady folded and put them on our bed when we came back which was very heart-warming. Drinking water is for free! Towels get changed every day and they also let us borrow another extra one. The traditional Balinese buildings are very extraordinary. The kitchen also can be used freely.

The room was smaller than we thought and the street noise is quite loud. Unfortunately the toilet doesn't have a bidet hose. There was no soap for washing your hands, only shampoo and body wash. Although the towels were washed and changed every day, they smelled damp. There aren't many shops nearby - you'd have to walk a bit and the pool water wasn't super clear (but probably because they used less chemicals for the water)

The location is good, close to the beach and restaurants. It is a nice small guesthouse with very friendly people, you can use the kitchen for making coffee or tea, and get yourself water from the big container. The room was nice, good bed, clean and good bedsheets. Netflix with an account from the guesthouse which you can use.

It has a fridge, which could have been a bit cleaner. A basic bathroom, which was not the best but okay. My shower did not produce hot water, but my friends' his did. (I had the Lotus)

Pool was lovely, staff were amazing, felt like family, close to beach and warungs/shops, self help kitchen was a bonus, with free filtered water available, felt safe, bed was super comfortable, lovely and clean room, Aircon worked well, shirt was nice and hot, loved the uniqueness of the buildings/room, great value.

Some road noise as it is on a corner, go for the larger room with more natural light, if that's a priority, but other than that very satisfying all round.
