Our stay at Pondok was totally amazing! It was an amazing family-feeling there, with the wonderful staff who really helped us feeling so welcome. Except we really enjoyed our time with the staff in general (they are really funny and warm) they also helped us getting a guide to see the sorroundings in the beautiful village Senaru and never hesitated to offer us help. We really liked the food as well (especially the fried noodles), breakfast was included and a lot of different things to choose from. And last but not least, the VIEW and location was outstanding! From the pool area and resturant you could see the Rinjani mountain, rice fields and the rest of the djungle. Very good AC, good shower, comfy beds, very clean and fresh pool.

We had some insects in our room, but that is really just what you have to expect when you live in the djungle.

The value for money is exceptional. The staff are fabulous. Rian was wonderful and very attentive and smart. You can expect excellent valye for money, not high end luxury. This is a comfortable place that allows you to experience Lombok culture and people. If you are not a Sheraton level traveller, you should love this place. The showers have exceptional pressure and heat, ideal for a return from Mt. Rinjani.

Be mindful that English is a second language for everyone here and sometimes conversations do not produce what you expect. If you have ever travelled in Indonesia you will understand what I mean.

Had a memorable and relaxing stay here primarily due to the incredible staff and amazing views. The rooms were large and quite old-fashioned with lots of beautiful wooden furniture giving it a feel of the another era. They all have a small patio for relaxing and looking at mountains including Mt. Rinjani. Breakfast was pretty basic but much appreciated. The location is about 10 minutes to the smaller waterfall and another 15 up to the spectacular larger on up through a gorge. The best thing was the kind staff, especially Tarjo, a young lad who spoke perfect English and somehow knows all the 70s and 80s songs. We had a guitar with us and it was a lot of fun to sing with the staff. Thanks for a great time.

This hotel is obviously being renovated slowly. I was here a few months ago and I noticed a lot of improvement like fresh paint in the room new stone top around the swimming pool new dining hall, and they are doing things very well. The setting is beautiful. The food is also very good. Very good place to stay

Wi-Fi in rooms 1 to 5 is nonexistent to pretty weak. But honestly I did not care. But I saw a uninstalled modem in the middle of those rooms, probably not connected yet to the network so I expect this will change shortly. It's still a detail Because with the scenery, you don't feel like looking at your phone

The staff were very welcoming, the room comfortable including excellent hot shower. The pool with Mt Rinjani in the background was beautiful. The food was better than a more expensive restaurant up the road. And everything so affordable! Our 1 day panorama trek with Rinjani women adventure was brilliant. (Office across the road) Four of us went (2 couples) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Highly recommend. 10 out of 10 for Pondok Guru cottages. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Maybe the service a bit slow with the food but not such a drama when on holidays.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The villa rooms are large, big bed, shower room with plentiful hot water and tea/coffee facilities. The views of Mount Rinjani are stunning. The pool is clean, also with awesome views. The on site restaurant food was freshly cooked and tasty. The staff were helpful and willing with constant smiles. Transfers were reasonable and reliable. Overall great value for money. Close to warungs and tour offices. Highly recommend.

Nothing of note. The pink paint wasn't to our taste and the lighting was rather dim - however everything worked well.

To be honest this was an idealic location to stay both before and after doing the Mt Rinjani trek. The pictures don't even do it justice. It was quiet, big spacious clean rooms, lovely breakfast/dinner and a great view of Mt Rinjani and the rainforest below. Staff were friendly, I think it was a family business and it was cool to see them from young to old hanging out and providing friendly approachable service. Would recommend, thanks ✌️ Also waterfalls are easy walking distance

The property is an exceptional lush oasis. Rooms were clean, comfortable, private and an absolute gem for the money paid. Pool was amazing and even better than the photos. Staff were friendly, available, responsive, we stayed here the night before doing Mt Rinjani 2 day summit trek. Location is awesome and easy access to walking track to Sendang Gill and Tiu Kelep Waterfalls. Restaurant onsite was simple tasty and good value. Truly amazing experience and would stay again.

Such a lovely family run place, the gardens and pool is spectacular, with an amazing view of the jungle valley, rice paddies and Rinjani. Was the perfect place to chill out after we finished hiking up Rinjani, staff were all very friendly and a heap of yum options in the included breakfast. Rooms are quirky, with a big bathroom and lovely balcony sitting area. Lots of birds and monkeys to watch amongst the frangipanis and other tropical flowers. Great location, 5-10 minute walk to other warungs and start of waterfall walks. Senaru is a beautiful town.

Super helpful people working there, who provide a welcoming vibe. Good food and great view frrom the eating/pool area and some rooms. The more expensive rooms are very nice, the other rooms are looking a bit old but ok for the price. Good parking. Rooms had a little porch/outside area to sit in, though chairs were really uncomfortable. Convenient location for nearby waterfalls. Tiu Kelep waterfall was an easy 45 minute walk from waterfalls entrance gate 1, using paths on mapsme (google maps no good). We were two sixty two year olds, not athletes, and it was easy without a guide. You need to wade the river twice. It was not even knee deep, despite recent rain. Having a stick was handy for that.

Wifi is not strong in the room. Did not like having to pay for room in full, several days in advance.
