I had a wonderful fortnight at Lutwala Bungalows & Private Villa and literally did not want to leave. My bungalow was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous garden view, enjoyed from the balcony. I found all staff exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location in the north of Gili Trawangan meant I was easily able to wander to and from the busier eastern side if the mood took me and return home to Lutwala. The Tipsy Goat bar at Lutwala has a really great vibe and is well-priced. The food on offer, whether breakfast, lunch, dinner or snacks, is delicious! Being an animal-lover, the cats, birds, horses and the resident goat, Giselle, added to my experience. I made good use of the 3 pools available as well as the beach a few metres from the premises. I didn't dive on this occasional but when I return, which I certainly will, I look forward to learning and will have no hesitation in trusting the dive instructors at Lutwala. I have left Lutwala Bungalows and Private Villa with very fond memories and having made new friendships :) Thanks guys!

We loved everything about Lutwala - the whole ethos is wonderful. Lovely clean and spacious rooms, with a large comfy bed, a fridge and lots of storage space and a really nice shower. Plus a balcony area with chairs and a table. The staff are super friendly and helpful. It's so lovely to see all the animals they've rescued - especially loved all the cats! They really care about the island and the environment - there's free drinking water refill to reduce plastic waste, no plastic straws, they don't automatically change towels and bedding every day (of course they will if you ask, but who needs fresh towels and linen every single day?!) Great food, drinks and music in the bar with plenty of vegetarian options. Beach right across from the bar with a few chairs, tables, beanbags and sunbeds. We saw turtles in the sea right outside! It's about a 25/30 minute walk from the pier - please don't take a horse cart. A lot of the walk is shaded so it really isn't too bad. Lots of nice restaurants and bars nearby too. Thoroughly recommend Lutwala - you won't regret booking it! Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The location of the hotel if perfect, in the north of the island, in quiet area, just beautifully located on the beach, with the snorkeling place at our door step, My family had a blast swimming with the turtles. They have a great pool designed for diving training, it was equally nice to use it. All the animals on the territory provide a very homy and cozy vibe, the cats, the parrots and the goat! We enjoyed it, if anyone is an ANIMAL LOVER as we are, it is amazing. We specifically liked this feature when we were booking the place. We Stayed in Villa Sedang, 1st floor, which has access to private pool with salt water, and also has a great living area indoors with TV (which has Netflix, what a joy for our kid:)). The room was super comfortable, we had an extra couch/bed that was arranged for our 7 years old, so we all had comfortable separate sleep places. Huge bedroom space, AC was working like a charm, slept like a baby! Despite the whole island having issue with water, Lutwala has a desalinization plant, so had 0 problems with shower. And last but not least, after leaving, we accidentally forgot our kids toy, and the Hotel staff/Manager got in touch with us to return it, and went to an the extent of shipping it to Bali - to our place. Super Thrilled! and Recommended!!

The staff was top notch. They were able to assist with every request we asked of them. They helped set up transportation, coordinate bike rentals, the food was really tasty. The grounds has animals that are great for kids to see and interact with during our stay. I also was able to dive with my daughter's (8 & 11) within their pools, which my kids loved. Most importantly everyone there was SUPER friendly. Definitely will visit again when back in Asia.

Each member of the team at Lutwala and Tipsy Goat are amazing. They are all super friendly and joyful, and were really great with our baby daughter. The on-site cafe / bar is casual and great (and good value). You could wake up and be in the ocean within a minute or two if you wanted. Pretty much guaranteed to see turtles from the beach or soon after you jump in for a snorkel. There are 3 pools, one of which is usually very quiet as it’s not used for diving. Out of the hustle and bustle of the main town area near the harbour, but a short 15 mins on a horse and cart, or 10 mins on a bicycle (plenty to rent nearby). Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. I also did a dive course which was very well-run (great team of dive instructors) and an incredible experience. Super Bagus!

It was all good

The location is fantastic for snorkeling right off the beach. On the "quiet" side of Trawangan. Good price-quality relationship. The animal company. Plenty of them.

Noisy at night. Some machine kept whirring and became annoying. Not the most friendly staff, except for 2 members, which is strange in Indonesia in general. Breakfast is below par. Pool is basically chlorine with a bit of water. Fortunately, the ocean is at your door.

Right next to a beautiful beach where turtles can be spotted easily and even sharks at night. Animals in the accommodation included parrots, cats, and a goat, who were all very friendly. Horses come to graze in the morning, which was beautiful - the owner takes great care of many animals on the island! Rooms were cool and comfortable.

Breakfast was picked over the first morning but much improved the rest of our stay. Shower flooded but there was a wiping device to help clean up after. Service in cafe was a little slow.

Our room was very spacious and everything is very tastefully done. My son loved having the Villa to hang out in the cool and play darts and chess. The extra bed for my son was super comfy which was a bonus. We loved the location, in the more family/tasteful area of Gili T and being on the beach with the most incredible snorkeling right there was perfect. Food at the café was great and good prices. Breakfast is great, as long as you get the pancakes and eggs.

A lovely location, very quaint and not what I would call high end, comfortable and responsible for the environment, three pools and the beach right at your doorstep

Could do with a little more paving out the back, as a guest I felt very guilty walking sand and dirt over the clean floors around the pool,

Best location on the island, watch sunrise and sunset from the beach right out the front. Staff were absolutely wonderful from the bar staff, the housekeepers, the waitstaff, kitchen staff and the dive staff were all amazing. We were travelling as a family of 6 with a 1 and 3 year old and they looked after them as if they were family which was so lovely.

Would suggest that if the owners have a problem that they don’t abuse the staff in front of guests as it was quite awkward. Maybe grievances should be dealt with in a more private setting.
