We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Desa Dunia Beda Resort for our honeymoon, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the peaceful ambiance, warm hospitality, and stunning natural surroundings. The resort offers a perfect blend of luxury and authenticity — each villa feels like its own private sanctuary, designed with traditional Javanese architecture and thoughtful details that made our stay feel incredibly special. The open-air layout, private pool, and breathtaking views of the ocean created the perfect romantic setting for our honeymoon. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and celebrated. Every interaction felt personal and genuine, and we truly appreciated the small touches like flower arrangements, handwritten notes, and the warm smiles from every team member we encountered. The food at the resort was also fantastic — fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of flavor. Dining by the beach with the sound of the waves in the background is something we’ll never forget. If you’re looking for a serene, romantic getaway in Bali, Desa Dunia Beda is an absolute gem. It exceeded every expectation and gave us memories we’ll cherish for a lifetime. We had a wonderful stay at the Desa Dunia Beda Resort. The resort is beautifully designed - with traditional joglo wooden houses that offer plenty of privacy and are perfectly embedded in the tropical surroundings. We particularly liked the quiet location on the north side of Gili Trawangan - far away from the hustle and bustle, right on the quiet, clean beach with a view of breathtaking sunsets. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, you immediately felt welcome and in good hands. The breakfast was delicious and fresh. The hotel's own restaurant also offers very good cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere with a view of the sea. The distance to the centre is long - so you should plan to use bicycles or horse-drawn carriages if you want to get into the "action" more often. For us, however, this was a plus point because we were looking for peace and relaxation. Conclusion: If you are looking for authentic island flair, nature and relaxation, you will be absolutely happy here.

The rooms are a little darkly lit, which is particularly detrimental in the bathroom area, where more powerful lamps could be used.

Lovely location, next to the snorkeling beach, at 15 mins horse car ride from the ferry port. Breakfast and Restaurant really great, attention from staff outstanding. Everything we asked for, they took immediately care of. Walking from your Bungalow to the beach, just standing knees deep in the ocean and already seeing all those colored fishes - priceless. But dont forget your snorkeling / coral shoes! Will need to enter the ocean.

WiFi was soso. Pavement from main building to bungalows made of single bricks, difficult to walk but dont worry - they will take care to bring your luggage with a handcart. One day it seemed that the type of fruit we asked for was not available, so they made up something that seemed to be nectar. No big deal, but we would have preferred a forehand warning.

It’s like a dram come true. Perfectly located at the water, no to far but also not to near to the party locations. Right in front of the vila you can snorkel and all other activities can be booked nearby. The rooms are beautiful and clean. They provide everything you need. You can also rent a bike or snorkel equipment. The breakfast is very good. You can choose from many things. They also serve dinner which has high quality. But the most beautiful thing in this resort next to the view is the employees. They are not only great but very kind and help you wherever they can. Please make sure you treat them good when you visit. In the night you can see the milk way. From your toilet:)

We stayed for our honeymoon. The resort was in a great location. It was perfectly located for the beautiful sunsets and great snorkelling (a secret gem). It was in a slightly quieter part of the island however it was easy walk to other restaurants and bars or you can rent one of the bikes onsite to explore. In my opinion it was the perfect spot to be on in the island to get the best of both worlds. The staff were all amazing and couldn’t have been friendlier. We stayed for the seafood bbq on the beach, would highly recommend this. The rooms were large and spacious and won’t disappoint.

We loved our stay here, especially as it wasn’t in the heart of the parties Gili T is more known for. The beach hut was lovely, we had lovely breakfasts on the beach, and the hotel is just up from Turtle Point on the beach so we rented to free snorkelling equipment from the hotel for this. The staff are fantastic, and made our stay. All the staff were lovely and friendly, we had a few dinners and plenty of drinks and they couldn’t help us enough. Dewa was particularly helpful from our first stay at the hotel. Thank you for such a fantastic stay! Also - please make sure to look after the short tailed cat who we have named Kiko - we loved her visits on the beach every day 😊

Only ‘issue’ we had was that we felt the hut was a bit dark despite all the lamps. Other than that, no complaints at all!

The location was perfect. Away from the hustle of the town, ideally positioned for the BEST sunset view. Nice beach but only swimmable at high tide. Large property, and breakfast/lunch/dinner next to the beach was beautiful. Food was good with plenty of choice a la carte and no waste. Service was great and staff lovely. House wines only, but they were acceptable (and we do like our wine!). Rooms very large and comfortably bright. Open-air bathroom was simple but tastefully done and we did not find mosquitoes a problem at all. Aircon was good, rooms were very clean. Tea making facilities and a fridge were a bonus we didn't expect. So bought wine from the town to enjoy on our verandah as there was no room service that we could see. Telephone in the room though so quite possibly room service could have been arranged. Easy to get transport to and from the town by pony and trap, or cycle.

Paths to the room were stepping stones so a little awkward when carrying anything, but not really an issue for us, but could be for some. Suggest flat shoes only. Our only gripe, and I'm loath to mention as it was still a lovely property to stay at (and I don't want to impact on the great/attentive staff by giving a negative review), was the pool. Lovely and large, good sunbeds etc, but the pool looked dirty. The water was murky, when all other pools at nearby properties looked sparklingly clean so didn't use. The manager said, there were lots of people using it 'yesterday', but it remained that way for the 4 nights/5 days we stayed. Very disappointing as beach was only usable at high tide.

For us the location was perfect very peaceful part of the island with lots of good restaurants around.

There were better places nearby to eat but the food was good. I think they should include the bikes but they charge per day so if you just want to pop to the shop you still have to pay the day rate. The rooms are lovely but very dark and we couldn’t open up the windows because of security.

Location away from the main strip but only a 10 minute cycle ride away. The villas are spacious and has everything you need. The staff are brilliant and we helped an older staff member with the villa cat Sophie and took her to the vet. Hope she now returned an ok.

Not the villas fault as can't do anything about it. The access to the sea is full of stones and coral, so you won't be able to swim and turtle watch easily. You definitely need sea shoes
