We (Marisa and Anna) spent five unforgettable days at Mad Monkey — and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for more!! From the Moment we arrived we felt super welcome and the whole Team made sure we had everything we needed and always had our backs at any Time🤍🤍🤍 The rooms were clean, there were always fresh towels and good snacks - a Highlight was the Mexican Night with Tacos and Enchiladas (+free Tequila)- We hope you get the Chance to try it 😂😂😂 Everywhere you can rent Bicycles and E-Scooters to explore the whole Island, - even though the Hostel is on the other side of the Harbor ..but it is the perfect Location! You wake up and have the Ocean in front of your Eyes and not 100+ Tourists just arriving Day by Day on the Island! Huge shoutout to Billy, Ali, Iki, and Izzy — absolute Legends for keeping the good vibes going and making us laugh nonstop. And from Snorkeling in Crystal Clear Water to the Party Boat, Foam Partys, Beer Pong and many more Activities they offer - you won't have to worry about a thing! Whatever you are into- there is always something that will suit you! So worth it!! And the parties and Quiz Nights? Be Part of them!! If you’re thinking about going — just do it. You won’t regret a single Minute ✨✨✨

Food was great, plenty of options available and tasted fine. Teepee room had an airconditioner in it which made it very comfortable. Located in my opinon next to the best spot to view the sunset from the whole island. Staff were extremely friendly and inviting, if I was not travelling with purpose of meeting up with an external group I really would of liked to stay longer as they made a fun and safe environment at the hostel, people were all keen to interact and have a good time.

This place is opposite to the jetty from where you arrive by boat so I recommend hiring an electric scooter to get to your accom if you are travelling light (avoid the push bike rentals all the push bikes suck). The pool water does not look inviting its murky so I avoided swimming in it. The showers are pretty rough but they stocked plenty of body wash. Think the teepee tent might be a bit overpriced for what it is comparatively on the island. Wifi was a bit hit and miss.

Fantastic Stay at Mad Monkeys! My stay at Mad Monkeys on Gili Trawangan was absolutely fantastic! The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, creating an environment that’s all about having fun. I want to give a special shout-out to Agy, one of the staff members, who really stood out for his friendliness and real care for the guests. He took the time to make sure everyone was having a great time and even organized a snorkeling tour for us, where we saw numerous fish and turtles—a truly memorable experience! The activities at Mad Monkeys are varied and exciting. From beer pong to volleyball, and even foam parties in the pool, there’s always something fun happening. The food here also exceeded my expectations. The variety was impressive, and the prices were surprisingly affordable, especially considering we were on a party island. I was genuinely surprised by the quality and affordability of the meals.

However, the accommodation is located a bit far from the harbor—actually on the opposite side of the island. If you’re traveling light, you can walk the 2.5-3 kilometers, but otherwise, you might need to take a horse-drawn carriage, known locally as a Cidomo. On the flip side, the location offers the advantage of a peaceful night’s rest, and if you still feel like partying, you can always head over to the other side of the island.

Staying at Mad Monkey Gili T was an absolute blast! It’s the perfect place to meet people, party, and fully enjoy the island’s vibrant atmosphere. The social vibe was amazing, with fun events and games every night that made it super easy to connect with other travelers. The facilities were excellent—clean, comfortable, and with a great pool to chill during the day before the party kicked off. The staff was super friendly and made sure everyone had an unforgettable time. If you’re looking for the best mix of fun, social energy, and great facilities on Gili T, this is the place to be! Can’t wait to come back!

I loved the pool, volleyball court, and the vibes. Mexican night and music quiz were quite nice. It’s very easy to meet people here and make friends if traveling solo. The restaurant menu is okay.

Location is quite far from the port. If you have heavy luggage the only option is to use the horses which doesn’t feel right. I stayed in a 3 beds room. They could install curtains for privacy but there are none. Big lockers for each guest is okay. Mine was broken at the base, but it was safe anyway. They could improve cleanliness and facilities. Everything looks a bit old already.

This the only place to be in gili T, you can’t stay in any other hostel if u wanna have fun and get a sea view. We went to check the other famous hostels one night and they were pretty dead. Here everyone was super lovely, they organice fun activities every day & night, you’ll never get bored. One of the bests hostels i’ve ever stayed. The staff was also super friendly and helping new people to get to know each other, specially Izzy, he makes sure everyone is ok and having a good time!!

Its a bit far that’s true but it’s worth it. If u stay in the superior rooms you get a nice view but you’ll hear the microphone all day long hah

One of the best party hostels out there, with activities such as snorkelling tours, bike tours, "family" dinners, foam parties, etc every day. Excellent place to meet people, we made so many friends! The staff are incredible, we had the best time with them. The dorms are only 3 beds, which is wonderful, we slept great. The location is okay, it's right on the beach, but not the best beach for swimming (rocky), and most of the beaches/restaurants/bars/parties are on the other side of the island, although it's easy to get there by bike!

Most don't stay more than 3-4 days, it gets pretty rough on your liver past that haha.

This is the perfect place to stay if you're traveling solo and looking to meet new people. The atmosphere is warm and social, making it easy to connect with others. The staff is incredible—they make you feel welcome from the very first moment. They're also impressively good at remembering guests' names, which adds a personal touch and makes you feel truly seen. A special shoutout to Billy—he’s always there when you need something and goes above and beyond to help.

It was really clean and well maintainted. Staff was nice and tried to get everyone included in the activities. Too loud for me personally, but that was to be expected given it’s a party hostel. Pool was nice, food in the bar okay too, sunsets on that side of the islands were stunning! Overall a really good stay

The snorkelling tour organised by Mad Monkey wasn’t the best, sadly. It was more expensive than in other places, with the same itinerary. Supposedly included „lunch” was a scoop of rice in a banana leaf - not worth extra 80k idr we paid.

I loved my stay at the mad monkey Gili T. Fresh towels, good music great atmosphere and really good food too. I would like to suggest that they offer some free breakfast. Or a bowl of free fresh fruits. That would be a really great hook. The sunset views from there are so amazing. I cannot get enough of it. And I love that the common space is welcoming you all even outsiders. That's how I decided to book a few nights there.
